Given the past participation and success of the "Before Endor" and "Forgotten Battles" is it time to resurrect this event format for a new fall campaign? We have yet to do an OR v Sith campaign and as we've gotten new v-sets it may be a good time to revisit these two factions.
Thoughts?

I'd sign up to play, but it takes a few people to sign up for the jobs that require some work.
One person in charge of the event - keep track of which maps have been used, which side has earned what bonuses. At the outset, decide which units can be used by everybody and which units are restricted to one player at a time.
One Supreme Commander for each side to deploy the units. Lots of mail with these jobs.
A judge to handle any disputes that come up. (This one doesn't actually require much work.)

Thoughts? Before things got too crazy for him and he hasn't been able to use bloo in awhile, knappskirata had started a continuation of BE and FB (Seps vs. Rebels; the victors of the previous two campaigns fight for control of the galaxy!). It ALMOST got started, but fell apart.

All this is true but campaign mechanics aside for the momento, the question remains is there a desire to do this sort of event again from old participants and new recruits? If there is enough ground support, I have to think we'll get the mechanics sorted out.

I really liked using all the non-Restricted maps in a (semi) competitive environment. The squads weren't optimized, but the win or loss had consequences on a galactic scale. :-)
I think I'd even recommend having the next campaign use only the non-restricted maps. The restricted maps all see plenty of play anyway.

We loved playing in the Old Casino and Uggie Mines. Not everything needs to be competitive all the time, which is one of the reasons why we had so much fun with this format. Sure you want to get over on your faction opponent but is has a different feel then a regionalesque event.

I love that the Old Casino map is an old map. "The old Old Casino."

I could probably spare time for some VASSAL games for this. I missed the first two, but they look like fun.

I like that idea too. There are so many cool maps we rarely use.

Should probably wait until the LEGENDS tourney ends. Might pick up some of those players, who might not want to do both at the same time.

So we have seven interested thus far for the next installment of Faction Wars. Out of respect for the Legends tourney, we will wait for that to end before starting up. Personally I think we have enough dramatis personae to seriously look at doing an OR vs Sith conflict. NR vs Vong still seems unlikely, so if you are interested in playing please speak up so we can agree to the factions.

As their finishing r2 then a November start would seem reasonable ramp up.

You can hear the crickets on ol' Bloo. Perhaps if we can get started on a new campaign we could chase them away for a while?
I'm in whenever.
