Alrighty, today we begin work on this soon-to-be-masterpiece!

Everyone feel free to toss around ideas and begin working on stat blocks. We'll likely take some ideas from different ones over the course of the next week or two, then begin testing, at which point it may receive some tweaks or changes for balance.

As some of you may know, I'm working tirelessly to get my store ready for Cyber-Monday, but I'll be checking in and posting several times a day probably (except today, maybe; my brother's birthday is today, so we may be out awhile lol).

As far as direction from the set creators, it looks like we've pretty much got free-reign to decide the direction and fate of this piece! The one thing they suggested is the following: It would be cool if it worked well with the Legends Revan. Wink

Obviously, it'll be 'legends'-canon (so OR). We would prefer to not leave the old Exile pushed out of playtime (though that'll be hard to do if this piece is to be good enough to see regular playtime and help the OR TN faction as well), while making sure this piece is unique and shines in it's own way!

So, with that, let's get started, everyone! BlooMilk

ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING TO KEEP IN MIND: For those who haven't seen the Legends set (http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/Set/1444/legends), it doesn't always play quite like standard minis: There is a limited amount of V-set pieces available for each faction, there is no Brutal Strike/OWF (even on pieces like Lord Vader that have it, it cannot be used), Soresu from Obi-Wan has been changed to the old WotC errata (all non-Melee, so better than standard Soresu, as it works on adjacent non-melee and ranged attacks, but not melee). Mouse droid walls don't exist, as you can move through them (and other small characters don't provide cover). Using abilities like Rend or Lightsaber to boost damage on attacks against adjacent enemies means you are making a melee attack. This piece is for the 2nd TN Set, not standard minis, so keep these things in mind. Smile

I have a feeling that this piece will replace the WotC Exile, unless she has a versatility for her, (which might be cool).

Off the top of my head, I'd like to suggest having a Force Essence force power so that when she dies, she can haunt the LEGENDS Revan and still be helpful. I guess that means we'd have to make a Force Spirit Exile as well, and I don't know if that fits with how the community designed piece is supposed to work.

So, this is a stats-only competition? Or is it a stats and minifigure competition?
We haven't had a 'build off' in a long time... long time...

If its stats only, here's a stab at it.

The Jedi Exile
Fringe/Old Republic 48pts
HP: 80
DEF: 23
ATK: +15
DMG: 20

SAs
Unique (counts as Jedi Exile, Darth Revan, Squint?)
Affinity, (may be in an Old Republic squad. May not be in a Sith squad).
Rapport (HK and Juggernaut droid units cost 3 less in a squad with this character)
Internal Strife (on an attack roll of 1, this unit defects to the opposing team, save 9).
Deadly Attack (this unit scores critical hits on 19, 20)
Vicious Attack
Anticipation
Rolling Cleave (if this unit defeats an opponent, it may immediately move 1 square and make an attack against an adjacent enemy).
Twin Attack.
Niman Style Fighting? [this may not make the final stats due to cost]
Evade? Parry? (Lightsaber defense may replace this)
Repair 10

Force Powers
Force 2. Force Renewal 1
Lightsaber Defense
Force Lightning 2: 30dmg and 2 targets within 6.
Force Corruption?/ Sith Battle Meditation/Force Valor.
Force Maelstrom 3: Enemies in yellow border or green border terrain within line of sight from Revan take 30dmg and 1 corruption token, save 11.

CE:
Units with a Force Rating gain Force Ascetic.
This Character can use the force points of other characters in your squad, and this character may use force points as many additional number of times as there are characters in the squad with a force rating.

OR

Trooper Followers are +4/+4 and gain Sith Hunter, Deadeye.
Non-unique mandalorian characters may be in a squad with this character, regardless of faction.

OR

Enemies with corruption tokens (there are loads of sources) are - 5 Def per token (this stacks) and -1 movement speed per 2 tokens.
Every time a corruption token is added to an enemy model, all characters in your squad heal 10HP.

So, this is to encapsulate the play experience from KOTOR (effectively calling down lightning and killing everything), and the comicbook lore a little. I also wanted to represent how much of a glass cannon the character was, and how awesome they were at healing HK47 and keeping the droids going - I want to see the Old Republic have more droids in play.
I may drop several of the parenthesis effects in favor of a better Rapport with HK47... but still have this incarnation as a 'glass cannon' to represent the fragility and risk Vandar and the council took to mind wipe and rewrite Revan.
The CEs are where I think this Exile can help - as the Exile is not a follower. If you have a lot of jedi padawans or force batteries, this revan could use force powers repeatedly in a single turn (spamming lightning multiple times for instance, or moving multiple times).
A proficient beatstick, but nowhere near as high a damage output - I wanted to reflect Revan/Exiles battle strategies and tactics.

Anticipation helps revan to move.

I feel that, because this figure may not end up having 'force corruption' and perhaps will have force valor instead,
that this would still leave the original Darth Revan and subsequent fan/VSet variants playable, because they have a lot more HPs and defense and can do more damage. They can also get more forcepoints on their own, without bringing a negative ability to their faction (in this case, penalising all the other force users with Force Ascetic).

This mightnt be up to date with the VSet state of the Meta Game,
Good luck anyhow, and I'm looking forward to seeing custom minis and the stats to go with em BigGrin

Perhaps it can work like classic Force Sprit and simply give him some more FP/MotF etc.? That's an excellent idea, by the way, for functioning with Revan! Versatility may yet be a possibility as well, but we'll have to see...

While a stat/figure competition DOES sound interesting, this is actually just a collaborative effort to create the best possible Exile for the 2nd TN minis set, using as many heads from the community as possible Smile

As such, some of what you suggested in your stat block may not actually work on this particular project, but some suggestions there I can see potentially ending up on the final piece, and either way, I greatly appreciate the time, effort and (clearly) the sheer thought you put into your stat-build and post! Smile

Feel free to make another block and/or continue to put your voice into the conversation as the piece progresses!

Don't have a good stat block yet, just a few ideas that could be used:

Affinity (a character who counts as Lord Scourge can be in your squad regardless of faction)
Wound in the Force
Bravado
Internal Strife
CE: Unique allies with a lightsaber and a Force Rating gain Lightsaber Bravado +20.

Thanks for putting some ideas forth, CC! As a general stat block starts to materialize, those are some interesting ideas to keep in mind! WitF would definitely make the piece more interesting, should it work on the piece!

I may have misread this, but the Jedi Exile is NOT Revan or Malak, she is Meetra Surik. You seem to have posted a bunch of stats for a Revan custom, but the LEGENDS set already has one.

Maybe we should first decide on what angle we want to take. A tank? A beatstick? A commander? A Force master? Some combination of those? If we can agree on what design goal we have for the Exile, it might be easier to develop a stat block we can agree on.

She should definitely be a commander, and it would be cool to have a Force Master version. I think she should be defensive.

I think a Commander/Camaraderie is for sure, she needs to help the faction and the Exile restarted the jedi order essentially.
I agree she should be more defensive overall.
I would like to see her with some techy abilities as well as some cool force powers.
Light beatstick with stuff to help the faction.
Now what time period would best suit her for this community event? Early Meetra with more tech then force powers? Or Meetra when she took on the sith academy pretty much single handedly? I think right in the middle.

Some possible SA's for her:
Force-Attuned Armor (if anyone else put her in Zeison Sha Initiate Armor)
Blaster 20 (quick weapons swap)
Force Enlightenment (Named Force Powers cost 1 less force point to use, to a minimum cost of 1)
Absorb Life Energy (When a living enemy is defeated by this character, remove 10 damage and this character gets +1 Attack and +1 Defense. These bonuses are cumulative.) [definitely this]
Force Bond (with Kreia, possibly a generic one to for other jedi)
Advanced Force Valor (Force 3, Replace Attacks: this character gains the following Force Ability for the rest of the skirmish; Allied characters within 6 squares get +2 Attack, +2 Defense and +2 on the results of all save rolls.)
Soresu Style

I could work up a stat block too if anyone wants me too. At this point I think we need a consensus on what we want her too do.

Here are some links to some of my custom Meetra's for some ideas if anyone is interested.

I knew I could count on you to have some good ideas for the piece Smile

Tomorrow I'll go through and try to catalog the various ideas suggested so far. I think most all of us would like her to be pretty defensive and with a CE. A bond with Kreia has had some suggestions as well as Absorb Life Energy and Wound in the Force, both of which are intriguing. Revan synergy (not necessarily the Synergy ability) would be good. This should be a very interesting pieceThumbsUp

A quick way to help Revan and show her bond with Kreia (while simultaneously making Kreia more useful) could be Synergy (An ally whose name contains Revan or Kreia within 6 squares gets +4 Attack and +4 Defense)

I think Defensive/Commander is a good idea. That means Lightsaber Defense or some kind of defensive style is probably a must.

One thing we might need to remember to do is to not go overboard on the representative abilities... For example, Blaster 20 fits flavor-wise, but does it fit with our goal for the piece?

Legends designers are big on not making pieces overpowered.
If Legends Revan gains +4 / +4 he is sitting on a 25 defense and a 18 atk, with cunning he will be attacking with a 22 atk while having dbl twin for 120 dmg. I don't think that that kind of synergy is a good thing.

I don't think "the quick way" is a good way to go about this, lets take our time.

That WOULD help Kreia, though. But, I think that it would make more sense for HER to benefit from being in a squad with Kreia, since Kreia was her 'mentor'.

I don't see the point in helping Kreia at all.

I think the Jedi Exile should be just a good piece that can support others. doesn't need a commander effect or camaraderie or anything, she can even have an ability where she learns moves from others.

I love the idea of Lightsaber Throw Defense. She used it to "save" Revan.

Here's why I think the Jedi exile should be a commander and/or have a camaraderie or force bond.

1. She WAS a general.
2. She was the leader of the group.
3. She helped rebuild the Jedi Order.
4. The LEGENDS set has a bunch of good Old Republic support pieces but they need more commanders to help them out.

Especially the last point. From what I observed from the LEGENDS tournament, there were some VERY high damage dealers (Sith, Sep Bounty Hunters) and Jedi had a hard time with them defensively.

I should have some stat blocks up later today.

If we're going for a commander/support piece, I can think of two ways it could go: (1) a cheap support piece who helps out allies, or (2) a more expensive piece whom you build a squad around. With that said, here are two stat block ideas I've had:

Cheap Support Piece:
Quote:
{name}
Cost: 33

HP: 100
Def: 20
Att: 12
Dam: 20

Unique
Melee Attack
Double Attack
Light Tutor
Jedi Trainer

Force Connection (This character can spend allies' Force Points as though they were her own)

Force 2
Force Renewal 1
Master of the Force 2
Lightsaber Defense
Lightsaber Throw Defense
(Force 2: When an ally within 6 squares is hit by an attack, that character takes no damage with a save of 11)
Force Heal 20

This piece is primarily designed to help allies. Light Tutor represents how she would awaken allies to their Force sensitivity, and Jedi Trainer shows how she would, well, train Jedi. (Lightsaber Trainer won't work because she costs too little.) Force Connection helps with her expensive Force powers by allowing her to continue helping allies with Lightsaber Throw Defense and Force Heal 20 even when xe has run out of Force points. Lightsaber Defense with Master of the Force 2 gives her a little survivability.

This build also goes well with the Legends Nomi, since Nomi allows xem to use Force Heal 20 again.

Expensive Squad Base:
Quote:
{name}
Cost: ????

HP: 120
Def: 21
Att: 13
Dam: 20

Unique
Melee Attack
Double Attack
Lightsaber Duelist
Lightsaber Trainer
Force Bond
(Allies with a Force rating gain Lightsaber Deflect)

Force 3
Force Renewal 1
Master of the Force 2
Lightsaber Throw Defense
(Force 2: When an ally within 6 squares is hit by an attack, that character takes no damage with a save of 11)
Lightsaber Deflect
{Squad Heal or an offensive Force Power}

CE: Allies with a Force rating within 6 squares gain Force Renewal 1.

This one would be more of a standalone piece. Lightsaber Duelist helps gives xem some chance against the big beatsticks in the Legends set (Bane, Sidious). Lightsaber Deflect helps xem survive against shooters (Durge), while not making xyr melee defense too strong. Force Bond helps out other Jedi Defensively. (I initially had Lightsaber Defense, but once xe lost it for Deflect, I changed Force Bond, too.) Lightsaber Trainer is a bit obvious, and can help with that allied defense a little more.

Force 3 with Force Renewal 1 because xe has expensive Force Powers (Lightsaber Throw Defense and whatever the third one is). The CE really helps out allied Force users (to an extent) and doesn't replace the old Exile. Lightsaber Throw Defense helps out allies.

I'm currently wondering if some kind of Rapport [costs X less while in a squad containing only characters with a Force rating] would be worth including.

So...yeah. Those are some ideas.

I like this piece, I would make the piece cost more around 40 so you have more options with Lightsaber Trainer.
I might also drop Mof 2.
I would give her Soresu or Makashi and drop Lightsaber Defense.
