Can't really vote till I see him. Seeing as *currently* he's a Sith, he can't 'replace' Maul, COTF anyway.
I think there is a good reason that he's 43 and Sid is 57 though, so I'd wager that he compliments Sid well.

Here's hoping they actually made him a decent threat. Like maybe something similar to shinja's AF Day version of him. If they gave him just triple, GMA, and Jedi Hunter as special abilities and maybe something like block, deflect, sith rage and FR he would be my #1 VR want from JA. Anything else they could give him in my opinion would just be frosting on the cake.

For 43 points, there is no way you are getting that much. Triple, JH, and Sith Rage is 120 damage alone. From 6 squares, and with block/deflect, is ridiculous.

Yeah, I expect him to at least have triple though and rage so even for 43 points hes going to rock, and the reason that he would be better than maul champion is this maul might have a new ability, so thats a(maybe) +.

Triple, Rage, Greater Mobile and cloaked would be great, but atleast stealth.
If they really want make him playable...overwhelming force or renewel+push (he did push obi) or disruptive.

What about Mara Jade, Jedi? She's 45 points and can do most of that (she can't deflect) and more! She has stealth, twin, and she's a shooter so she isn't subject to djem-so, makashi, parry and she also gets access to great commander effects like mobile and evade... edit:
However, I'm not voting because I don't like the choices. I would vote for:
"No matter how good/bad his stats are I'd rather use the CotF or CS figure as a proxy because the coat looks stupid on him."
I mean, why a tan coat? They could have given him the black robes from the Tatooine scene and that would be so much better.

I think this maul will be either a really awesome undercoated character, or a disappointing copy that is out dated. I don't think it will be in-between.

the other day i was thinking about nihl, he would be awesome if he was a follower and a few points less. im thinking maul is going to be similar statwise, + deadly attack and sometype of cleave ability. the sith have some great beatstickes but most are 60+, hopefully maul will come in as a new mid-cost beatstick similar to what kol skywalker and mara jade jedi are.

I really hope that Maul has Greater Mobile attack and stealth and will love it if he is a mix of offense and defense.

im actually hoping they give him double twin rather than flat out quad and greater mobile. it should lessen his cost and still give the whole "4 attacks feeling.

WOTC has a history of doing a so-so, then redoing that character and making it awesome. They get better as they go along(e.g. dengar, boba, jango, bossk, 4-lom, before=okay, not too useful, after=totally awesome!!!!). I think WOTC is going to succeed even more on this one.
