What would happen if GMLS faces off against Darth Vader, Legacy of the Force (or any other character with Djem So Style)? Say for example, GMLS attacks Vader. When GMLS lands his first attack, Vader responds with Djem So Style (let's take it for granted that everyone makes their saving throws and successful attacks.) Would GMLS then be able to respond with his own Djem So Style Mastery to Vader's Djem So Style, because technically GMLS has been hit by a melee attack? Wouldn't this go on until one character (let's face it, it would be Vader) is dead? Wouldn't it be super confusing with GMLS's twin attack? For every one of Vader's attacks, GMLS would get 2, but Vader would be able to respond to each attack with Djem So Style, therefore triggering more Djem So Style Mastery's from GMLS (each with it's own twin?) Does the universe collapse from here? Any clarification is much appreciated! Confused

It would continue until one of them failed their djem so saves. For every attack djem so lets you make one. It gets more complex when one of them has twin. 1 )so vader attacks luke and lands, 2) luke makes his djem so save and attacks back with twin 3) vader gets a djem so attack for each of the twin attacks 4) luke gets another 2 attacks for each of vaders responses and this will go on until one of them doesn't land a hit or fails the djem so style. then dmage is applied and vader can make his next attack if he is abale.

Since djem so interrupts the normal chain before damage is applied, it is likely that both charcters would come out dead. At least this is how I understand djem so. It would be wise to bring pen and paper with your if you are planning to play djem so characters.

Ha, I never thought I'd see the day. Well, chalk up one way (albeit an expensive one) of taking down GMLS.

Not quite... It's said in the WOTC post that I have written several weeks back that Djem So is an optional ability

but really who would pass up the chance to djem so vader. its just too much fun.
what were also not taking into account is the lightsaber defense, master of the force 2 and force renewal 2. it turns the tides into GMLS's favor.

The reason you would pass it up is because you've already done enough damage to Vader to defeat him. If you continue to hit him after he's ready to die, he'll be able to strike Luke back each time he's hit, most likely ensuring Luke's demise.

Also, with the sheer amount of attacks generated by a Djem So vs. Djem So fight, MotF 2 and LS Defense will generally mean jack squat.

Good to know it's optional at least.

So, none of the damage is applied until after all of the attacks are resolved?

Scourge with the new Thrawn could potentially be a big deterent to Luke.

Keeping track of attacks would be a NIGHTMARE!

Luke gets a twin, but after the first attack Vader can riposte (and Djem so) but the Riposte allows Luke a DSSM twin but then the first attack of the new twin would allow Vader a DS which would then spawn another twin for luke (who still hasn't taken the other half of his first 2 twins nor has vader rolled his first Djem So save because he riposted).

I'm already confused!

I would need to test it out to see who would win, but Vader would be hitting back hard. Even if he couldn't kill him he would sure put a hurt on him!

With Anakin CON it would be even worse!

Exactly. This would be a viable counter to a GMLS type character, IMO. You would have to sacrifice your Vader or Ani CON, but GMLS would be hurting, if not dead.

Yep. Mutual exchange.

It can be fun, I had a Vader Scourge up against a KKBM in a recent tournament.

Kyle: Runs up and attacks once. Vader takes 20.
Vader: Smash smash, Kyle takes 60.
Kyle: Attack Vader twice, Vader takes 40.
Vader: Djem So, Riposte, miss second Djem So save. Kyle takes 60 more.
Kyle: Riposte Vader's Riposte. Vader takes 20.
Vader: Djem So Kyle's Riposte. Kyle dies.

We have basically learned Djem so Style is the best way for a Melee Character to kill GMLS.
Also, make saves for each GMLS attack if you have Vader (dark Armor).

Lightsabers ignore Dark Armor, or is there something I am missing?

forgot that, would be cool if he could do it against lightsabers (GMLS would be so dead!)

djem so mastery gives an extra 10 damage it would soak that up but the rest will go through.

vader scourge is still hiting for 40 luke hiting for 30 it would honestly come down to the rolls. but still a 55 point piece standing up to a 115 point piece will be nice, and let the the other 95 point of my army kill his luke and 35 points
