Wow! I'd hoped to get in by winning GenCon but being voted in by our community is an even bigger honor. I absolutely love my classmates. Such a great group of people. Congratulations to you all!

Not true. Spry received many votes and was a finalist. There is certainly respect for him amongst HoF members as well as the community in general. If I had to predict, I would say that if he continues to play at a high level and be involved, he will be a top vote getter and make it in next year. No matter the game/sport/activity, Hall of Fames will always be argued.

To be fair, this is actually the first year that Spry was in the top 8 nominees. It's exceptionally rare to get inducted the first time you make that cut.

to be fair, I am pretty sure he has been more active then either of you, tim or Daniel, and has done better in tournaments then either of you, and probably has a better record then either of.
So I would say he has been more active, done better, and done more to keep the game going, and yet he gets some votes, no design ability... yep I restate it pathetic.
how long does this man have to playtest/dominate to get something other then... well... a few...people...voted..for...him... my goodness.

I didn't make the HoF until my third time as a finalist.
Unfortunately you're not doing him any favors by ranting about it.

Congrats to everyone who made it into the Hall of Fame.
That being said, I would like to say right now that I fully agree with the voters, Matt Spry does NOT deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. Here is my reasoning. For starters he's made finals at Gencon twice. That's not Hall of Fame material. Everyone knows that. Also he's been a playtester since they opened the PT Committee. Keyword "Playtester" never a Designer. Unless you count the work he did with TINT on Epic 2 set. Which let's be honest, no one does. I don't care how many campaigns or online Vassal tourney's he has been in. Those also have no meaning. And do absolutely NOTHING to continue this game. And while Spry has won many regionals, and beat just about every Hall of Famer there is to beat, the bottom line is, he just isn't likeable.
He's totally arrogant, he causes too many fights on the boards, he NEVER sides with the designers, he constantly bashes honorable people, and their good reputations.
And with that in mind. I 100% agree, Matt Spry does not belong in the Hall of Fame. Excellent job team, and voters. The Hall's integrity has been preserved yet again!

Wow, first off I do want to extend my congratulations to those who made it into the Hall of Fame. Secondly, I really do appreciate the rousing support of those who nominated me and who are posting now. That being said, I'd rather my legacy in this game not be the guy who made everyone fight over his potential Hall of Fame candidacy.
It's an honor to be considered and I'll keep fighting for it because I can honestly say I do feel like I deserve entry. I wanted it this year, but I will keep fighting for next year. I'm a fighter, adversity makes me stronger. Truthfully, I was 1 dice roll away from the Hall 5 years ago, but fate didn't allow it to happen.
Please, don't turn my case for the Hall into a fight because that's not the way it works. I really do appreciate people chiming in on this discussion and don't mind it, just more civil. That's the legacy I want. The guy who has tried to bridge the gap between play groups and different personalities. And for the record, I'm winning GenCon this year anyways so there won't need to be a debate ;-).

Spry you're a total class act and absolutely deserve a spot. I'll continue pushing for you and you know you've got my vote in the HoF.
But I hate to break it to you... I'm winning GenCon :b

It's all about the 8====D's you suck you could cure cancer, or get Dean to reimburse the Vset 1 money, (even odds on both) but if you ever have criticized a HoF member........you out of luck . seriously....any one of us still involved in the game, player, playtester, TO, B&B host, custom makers for GC sealed, active boards poster, designer, or donater, ought to be in by now. but all the HoF does now, is fracture what's left of the community.
