Since the last round we did a survivor of Order 66/Sympathizer, this round I want to see a character that has Order 66. This character can be unique or non-unique. The caveat though is that it must be a character that has not been made either by WotC or V-Set. Ex: Fives, Wolfpack Clone Captain. Good Luck can't wait to see what we get.

Rules
1. The character must be canon and from the chosen faction when required. They can have affinity, but the character must start in the chosen faction. EDIT: Since Canon is all screwed up, just a known character is fine.

2. You may update any existing versions you already have and/or create a new one. You may update/create several versions of the character but you must ultimately select 1 you wish to run with. (this must be done by the schedule below)

3. Place a hyperlink in this forum to make it easier to find your character. You can just post the stats or image here but if changes are needed it would be easier (and save space) if you just used a Hyperlink (If you don't know how to post Hyperlinks in a forum setting please ask and we will help you. It's not hard )

4. Voting works as follows, pick your three favorite customs based on accuracy to the character, design, balance or whatever you decide makes the best incarnation of the challenge character. First place receives 3 points, 2nd place receives 2 points, and 3rd place receives 1 point.

6. To make things fair you must vote in order to win the contest. You must choose three characters entered in the contest and you may not rate or vote for your own character.

7.. The winner will be decided by how many points they receive. Ties will be broken by most 1st place votes, then if still tied, 2nd place votes and then 3rd place votes. If still tied, then the outcome is a tie.

8. you may not change or update the entered character AFTER the deadline (from Tuesday-Thursday you may get advice and change your character accordingly) Friday at midnight [US central -600] before any votes are cast is the deadline.

The schedule will be like this: Monday the winner of last weeks CCC will announce his/her choice for the character (including the faction), from Tuesday till Friday characters can be created/updated but on Friday you must have picked one character to submit. Then voting will be held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday until noon [US central -600]. Monday night the winner will be announced and the next character picked.

Nice choice!

http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/25630/captain-keeli

So, to preface, I do have an Ima-Gun-Di custom this piece was designed to work with, but I think the contest entries should be able to stand on their own feet and not rely on another custom to be awesome. SO, the Camaraderie for Master Di is "officially" pointless, but there are plenty of examples - both WotC and V-set - of a piece boosting a specific piece/faction that didn't come out until later. (Ulic Qel-Droma boosted the Mandalorians before the faction even existed).

ALL THAT TO SAY: If he just seems to vague a piece without his Jedi counterpart, please let me know, I have another idea, but I don't want to post it quite yet, in case he was someone else's first pick.

Now, my explanation of the piece itself: simple Commander for Clone Troopers. Handing out Opportunist makes for the potential of Order 66 death-shot squads. I know death-shots aren't the greatest thing for the game, but it's Clone Troopers after all, they need all the help they can get. I may have gone overboard with Survival Expert last round, but I think it's warranted in this case: Keeli does only 20 damage on the move, so if he's fighting, he's probably standing still, and 70 HP can go fast. But any comments/critiques are appreciated!

Oh, another quick note: life gets really busy sometimes, so there's no shame if the best you can do is get a custom out there, and then come back to vote. But like Donny mentioned last round, let's try for some more feedback during the design phase. We all have different design/costing criteria, so this contest allows us exposure to many different viewpoints - and that's a good thing! So give honest feedback, and remember that nobody is here to attack you, only to offer their perspective on your piece.

And I'd even say it's totally okay to debate a little bit. If your piece seems overpowered, but has a great handicap that you think everyone else missed, point it out! Sometimes great synergies/designs aren't immediately obvious. So be polite, definitely, but explain your viewpoint on your piece - you probably know more about it than anyone else. Tell me why Vaapad-Flurry isn't as bad as it looks on your piece. Tell my why board-wide Greater Mobile Attack is okay. Tell me why I should use your Clone Commander over Captain Rex or Commander Fox.

I think I'm going to sit out this week. I'm having trouble coming up with something. I found lots of names on wookiepedia but I couldn't find enough content to make something that hasn't already been done. The quad firing clone trooper stole the show as far as non-unique clones go. Sorry guys, great idea for a week, but i think I'm stumped.

I'll leave feedback though.

Changed my mind. Made something that I think could be fun to build around.

I would like to throw a clone in the grinder, if I may.

http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/25636/commander-vill

Here's Commander Vill, a guy I got from some comics I picked up recently.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Vill

As he died when Vader questioned him if he had an Order-66-like contingency programmed into him to deal with Vader if the Emperor commanded, I was particularly inspired by the idea of having a character who allows you to more easily take out characters from your squad who switch sides, from Betrayal or Inner Strife and such. I wasn't sure if there were such an ability or character, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Contingency: This character and all characters in your squad get +4 Attack and +10 Damage against characters who have switched from your squad to an opponent's.

I also wanted to get some more versaility on my 501st characters, so I gave him Affinity, Imperial so he could be in an Imperial Squad without having to be with Vader, Sith Apprentice, so that he and his ability/commander effect could affect 501st Stormtroopers, which he became after Order 66. I made him Republic first primarily because that's how I saw all clones as being originally, though ones like Vill were introduced only after Order 66 had happened. He has Trooper (501st Clone Trooper) because he is a clone, and thus he can help any 501st Clone Troopers with squad-related abilities. I'm also a fan of the Relay Orders/Willing to Serve combo, making him a useful piece for commanders and positioning.

Finally, I wanted something that felt appropriate given his easy transfer from the Republic to the Empire and his lack of morality in taking and selling prisoners of war into slavery, so I came up with:

If this character is in a Republic squad, trooper followers whose names contain 501st get Separatist Hunter. If this character is in an Imperial squad, trooper followers whose names contain 501st get Rebel Hunter.

That of course, being a +4 Attack and +10 Damage to characters of that faction.

Scratch that "out;" my wife reminded me RollEyes we're going on vacation Next week .....

@ Dumbledore - Welcome back and a word on stats - 1) why can't you say your clone is a 7? Well, technically you can Say whatever you want, but if you want to be taken seriously by others, you need to stay within certain parameters, like whether you like it or not, the accepted WOTC price for a no frills clone trooper is 9; is it stupid? Absolutely! More pieces than you can shake a stick at are either "over costed or undercosted." But we as a community live with it and creating new stats on pieces is not an exception. Heck you could say its a 3, but you'll get called a fanboy. WOTC's basic 9pt clone trooper, if correctly costed, should have been a 6, but in our world it is what it is, so yours can't be lower (by the way, I costed your's at 12; the numbers don't lie BigGrin

@GG - Glad to see ya GG; hope lifes getting back to as normal as possible.

Your Haz-Mat clone is interesting (and costed about right.) I imagine he'd be a reinforcement type piece if you see the other squad has flamethrowers?

Medic - As donny said, the Kaminoan does much the same but appearances are deceiving in cost. Your +7 Attack = costwise, his 0's on Attack and Damage, but you do something different so his cost came out 14. Side note, I did a card for a clone trooper medic but only gave out Heal 10; I didn't think he had time for anything more, especially after reading the SW Medstar books. Your guy sounds like he should be stationed there, not on the front lines ...

@CC - Costed about right; not sure what to really make of him however, as donny said, they're so many commanders, does he bring something better to the table than the other commanders? Too many chiefs, not enough Indians .... I'm not the guy to ask. When I play Republic, its usually with Jedi and or Commando's and its mostly Jedi ...

@Caedus - I costed him at 33, so close enough; but like I said above, another commander to choose from. Interestingly enough, this is a "veteran" character that's been around awhile so I'm surprised the V-Setters haven't done him. Nice character though

@Warev Ririp - I costed him around 25. Interesting character, as is the Contingency ability; also interesting CE, covering your bases. On the negative side in this contest, yet Another commander ....

One last comment to all, especially the new people; many of us have asked for more feedback and finally, if you don't vote, your character isn't counted For voting purposes ....

Finally, @ donny - No, I didn't ignore you (not on purpose anyway) I just have reasons which will be more clear in the next few hours .... RollEyes

... well, since the wife Doesn't need me to make dinner, I guess I have time ...

I just made a Clone Scuba Trooper in my last set, but he's just a basic grunt, and I have another Clone coming out next set so I decided on something new(er)

I had thoughts about my medic, but I said no (another basic grunt) so I went for something quirky, something old and something new, but can't make up my mind between these two ...

Clone Riot Trooper I actually made this guy 4 years ago and just cleaned him up. Interesting idea I thought at the time.

Finally, donny, this is the reason I didn't comment. They're different enough, yet close enough that I'm keeping my mouth shut .... by the way, I costed your guy around 20.

Clone Trooper Ordnance Specialist

So. there they are. Heck if I know who to go with ....

I took your advice and bumped him up to 25, I don't mind.

Anyway, I'll vote on two others once we get near the end, so I can see all the options.

Surf, you've been busy. I like your boomer clone. I made my piece cost over the normal because he has access to doing missiles twice with tarpels and a bunch of other O66 stuff. This is a case where you have to consider what synergies are out there. I like my piece because he brings missiles to O66 which I don't think there are any other than some YAX squad guy.

Reps are hard to make. They have access to every good CE perk you can think of and there are tons of clones already out there.

I actually have a A5 Juggernaut on the backburner; never have gotten around to finishing it; I was going to model it after the AT-AT; you seem to have gone Epic on yours.

Okay, another entry here.

http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/25638/clone-commander-thorn

I went with Double/Twin instead of Quadruple so he could have a bit more interesting mobile damage output without having to go full GMA, but I might change it to Quadruple just because it's so much cooler. He is a commander, but the main focus is the man himself - if you can damage him properly and then keep him alive, he's got the potential for 120 damage per round. Plus a nice boost for the Coruscant Guards (although come to think of it, maybe they don't need 29 Defense in cover... but on the other hand, Stormtroopers with Missile launchers can get up to 34).

120 Damage is quite a bit for a sub-40s piece, but Dash Rendar, Renegade Smuggler (with just Talon Kardde for support) can do it on the move, at full health, and has Evade. Thorn has to stand still and be half-dead, so most of the time he's just at 80 - which is equal to Rex, but again, Rex can do it on the move.

All that said, you all know how I'm a fan of aggressively costing pieces. Razz
Any comments welcome.

(And for the record, when I finished typing this, I decided to change it to Quadruple anyways)

I was just looking on Wookiepedia for some unique clone trooper variants, and found this guy! I thought it'd make for an interesting character to convert to a miniature : )

http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/25639/clone-scuba-trooper

Let me know what you guys think!

And sorry, and I know this is very hypocritical of me, but this week is a very busy one for me, so I probably won't be able to give much feedback on other pieces before the voting starts...
