Gathering Forces will be finishing and going to the printer soon, so it's time to start our regular donation drive! This one is for V-set #13, Gathering Forces, along with the There's No Such Thing as Luck microset. The suggested donation is going to be $30. This is just a suggested donation; a donation is not required to get a set, but donations are the only thing that allows us to continue getting these professionally printed, so please try to make a donation, even if it's not the full amount. If you can donate extra for people who are unable to, that's excellent too. The goal this time is ~$1100. Donate Here to Support the V-Sets

gathering forces... sounds familiar..
What does the donation go to exactly?
I, personally, do not care about printing.
I do care about SWM, just not the printing stuff. so.. I would love to know if donations can be used for other things other than all printing

My dad plays Magic the Gathering at a place where other people play different games. He has been introduced to a number of games just by watching and asking about it. Money for travelling, heck ya. someone lives 400 miles away from a regional and needs a little help financially to make it, well here is some help.

Interesting idea Jen'ari and could have some merit on a different but focused fundraiser. I especially like your idea of paying someone to update vassal and/or Bloomilk haha But this specific fundraiser has always been and should always be just to cover the costs of getting the sets printed and shipped. Which is an undertaking and nice to have especially for those of us that live far away. Also you could definitely help support this one and then take the cards and either hand individuals out or bring them to a local game center to show off. The physical cards, occasional maps and LilyWan's epic customs are really the only new physical content we get for this game so I'm happy to keep supporting any of those to help my game group keep thriving and growing in the North.

"poking this bear"? what bear? that expression means that if you do something than something vicious is going to happen. This is a starwars forum... what vicious act is going to occur to make me stop and think before doing whatever it is you think i might do that might piss off the "bear"? Look i know you like to sit around and make little jabs at things that you see that are "not right" or "blatantly wrong or silly". It will always be the right of the coward to try to break things down instead of build things up. Consider the "bear" poked. (whatever that means)

When is the deadline to donate for set #13? When will it actually go to the printer? When is the estimated date or month when the sets will be back from the printer and sent out to everyone?

Should be sent to the printer around January 1. Cards should be back from the printer mid-February (though one year it was delayed considerably... mid-March I think). Cards should be in users' hands a week or so after getting back from the printer.

Realize this is an older thread, but marketing isn't a bad idea. The old decipher swccg is holding steady, and they have success with getting returning players back onto the game. Even some success with bringing new players in. It seems like a major force there is articles. One group explains the current meta in an easy to understand way. Another has beginner deck ideas that are fun and teach the game. Anyways, the point is, their game has been out of print 15 years and there are plenty of players coming back and even some trying it for the first time. The existence of virtual cards really helps with dollar cost of being able to play without being obliterated.
