There have been many people to contribute toward game over the years, and many people we owe thanks to.

Over The years the number of people contributing has gone down and the amount of work taken on by less hands has risen considerably.

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge 4 in particular that are titans. They've been contributing at high levels for years, but in the last three years they easily surpass anyone else.

It is not in any way shape or form an exaggeration to say that we would not be producing V sets anymore without these four.

( I hope it goes without saying that there are certainly others that have contributed considerably, and it is not meant as a slight to them to not have them listed. However nobody can accuse any of these four of not carrying far more than their share.)

In no particular order

Dave S (Swinefeld). I'd write everything he does but I'd starve to death before I could finish. Anyone that has worked in any compacity on a vset, knows that he is the man. Rules Guru extraordinaire, QC, board Mod, Bloomilk master updater, etc. He does it all. His job(s) basically never stop.

Bryan H (DarkDracul). Not just a set designer and active player, he also hosts the SHNN, travels to and hosts his own events, keeps things ultra organized in the forums, playtester extraordinaire, and is now also taking the torch for the card graphic design work. Seriously - dude doesn't slow down.

TJ H (FlyingArrow). Again, not just an active designer and player, but also puts in tireless work keeping the boards funtional, helping with updates, instrumental in QC and rules quagmires, nonstop playtesting and promoter of excellent bloomilk discussions and content.

Jason K (UrbanJedi). Probably the single most active player in the game, certainly one of the most successful ever. Of course he designs sets as well but has his hands on so many other projects I can't even list them all. Virtually every event at Gen Con he has had some part in making, testing or organizing. The sealed is one of his babies that is a huge amount of work to organize, and he is the conductor.

I salute each of you, with sincere gratitude. Though I probably drive each of you crazy at times, know that I respect the work you put in and recognize the amazing impact you make in our community.

A special shout out to the players of our community. Without the players we would have nothing. To all those willing to take time out of their busy schedules to travel to go to events and to organize their own events - you are our game. Whether it's on Vassal or in person - play the game. Otherwise - why are you here?

I encourage more SWM games to happen in the future. A couple more regionals this year still ahead, and Gen Con just around the corner. But it doesn't end there.

Vassal is an incredible tool - it can connect us all. I encourage more games online, and more tournaments to be started.

As fun as it is to talk about the game we all love - let's all PLAY it too.

And thank those guys above for everything they do!

Thanks Tim! BlooMilk

I'll second that sentiment! We've been very fortunate to have such selfless, hardworking and imaginative people.
Sometimes with all our criticisms and griping it's easy to forget that we're lucky to still have this game going.
There are plenty of past individuals that deserve praise for that and hopefully they know they are appreciated.

So excited for this GenCon. Had a higher attendance at Regionals this year and look to surpass last year's GenCon numbers. It's going to be awesome getting to hanging out with my SWM pals and duke it out with plastic heros and villains.ThumbsUp

No doubt. Big +1

( now if only we could talk him into applying to be a designer!)

For the championship alone - we outsold last year's entire event . . . On day one of ticket sales this year!

I feel like play-testing should be a noble end in its own right, not always just a step towards play-testing. Different skill sets - I don't think I'm well enough versed in star wars lore to be a designer, but I've found a few broken squads over the years. I was first to win a tournament with Daala and also warped the meta at 2015 GenCon with my high activation, single attacker double swap squad.

Didn't mean to indicate that playtesting wasn't noble. It's highly valuable.

No doubt you have found some doozies of squads as well.

I was just expressing that I thought you'd make a great designer as well, that's all.

But we are grateful to have you as a part of our community filling this valuable roll.

Graham is a great player and playtester, and I think would probably be great as a designer. It seems he and I may have similar views as to where we best fit into this puzzle. I'd still like to see what ideas he might come up with. Smile

Aside:
Seconding TJ's thanks for the mentions, and would like to add, I have not been as involved for the last couple years as I was before. I have my reasons (real life), but everyone else (mentioned or not) has stepped up kept things running as efficiently as is ever possible in my experience since "joining the team", and I thank you all for that.

I easily could've been gone from all this long ago, but it seems there is no cure once bitten by the SWM bug. So to EVERYONE still hanging around (and I love seeing some old names reappearing here recently), this community is no more dysfunctional than my old playgroup ever was, lol. Thanks for sticking around. Let's keep it fun. BlooMilk

While it's true that I am a jerk - why would you insult these 4?

There is no reason to smear these 4 hard working individuals.

I thought he was calling himself a jerk. Self-deprecating humor?

In any case, I stopped reading after his warning. Hopefully he didn't say anything inappropriate.

Agreed you guys have been solid and the northern players greatly appreciate what you guys have done for the game. The SWM fire will always burn brightly in my part of Canada and it's all in large part to your sacrifices and efforts. So thank you

Ol' spryguy needs to be on here as well. The guy is everywhere minis. He even came over to legends to design and play because hey it's minis.
He is always a stand out guy, epics are fun! And I enjoy the CCC and somehow always seem to end up putting him in top 3 reach week..
Butt as far as pillar goes, he has supported many different aspects of the community.

+1

Matt has certainly contributed a ton to the game in multiple areas. I had the pleasure of meeting him WAY back when my local playgroup was strong. Super great guy, in all respects. BlooMilk

No doubt Spry is awesome!

Again, I meant no exclusion to anyone - moreso just specific props to the 4 I mentioned. That said - I like the way this is headed though - by all means shout out all who deserve props!

Agree spry rocks and epics are one of the best parts of this game, let alone he is an epic supreme commander and player for campaign play (miss this! Stupid education getting in the way haha). Also lilywan has kept new fresh designs of minis coming out along with Matt Francella and Christopher West and their maps helping keep the actual new product and maps flowing. Man some pretty solid folks out there. And shout out to my commonwealth brothers the New Zealand playgroup. It's awesome that the SWM torch still burns outside of America as well

+1000000 to all the great comments made above to all the legends. I've personally been spanked by Graham at a few tourneys, and i always learn a truckload. ha :)
And yes, vassal is a great tool - its the only way to meet some of you fine players! tx tim for taking the time to write up the Kudos, i really enjoyed playing darkdracul and co in that melee vassal tourney, and as always learnt somany things and had a good laugh with you all (between our accents .. ha)

Looking forward to being up your way next August (2018) to attend Gencon after visiting the inlaws in Canada in July!
