Chicago Regional - Sat May 25th
We are on the calendar at Chicagoland Games (Dice Dojo). Same place we've had the Regional the last several years.
5550 N Broadway St Chicago, IL 60640
$15 Entry
Registration begins at 10am, Registration ENDS at 10:45am
Rounds begin promptly at 11AM
Gameplay in each round will last exactly 1 hour. 10 minutes of set-up time will be given before the game clock begins each round (we will start the game clock when everyone is set and ready if it is before 10 minute set-up time is done).
Number of Swiss (initial) rounds depend on number of participants. <8 = 3 rounds 9-16 = 4 rounds 17-32 = 5 rounds (very optimistic here)
For any number of participants above 8, cut to the top 4 and play 2 rounds of single elimination finals.
Prize support will depend on number of entries. GenCon badge to 1st place (minimum 12 entries) + Store credit and other prizes to the top finishers. Draft prizes for all participants!
Short 30 minute break between rounds 3 and 4 for food.
The whole event should be done by 7:30pm to give everyone plenty of time to get home. (Estimating 4 Swiss rounds)
This will be an official Star Wars™ Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) sacnctioned event. The SWM GPA Floor Rules will be in effect. (The Star Wars Miniatures SWMGPA (Star Wars Miniatures Gamers Players Association) Floor Rules and the Star Wars Miniatures Game Rules should be read and understood by all players wishing to compete in sanctioned events. All SWMGPA members participating in SWMGPA-sanctioned Star Wars™ Miniatures events must abide by these rules.)
Legal Map List will be:
Criminal Underworlds 1. Jabba's Palace 2. Crime Lord's Palace 3. Gangster's Vault 4. Cantina

Thanks to everyone for coming out!
9 very different squads.
5 were Sith but all played very different.
This shows how deep Sith has gotten.
-Bane Sithari with Kasim
-Revan and Set Harth
-Darth Baras and Warb Null
-Vader of Scarif and Sheev
-Kouhun swarm with Exar Force Ghost (The only Sith piece in the squad)
However, the wrecking ball that is Rey-lo was unstoppable, with BB-8 being the support piece extraordinaire.

Awesome tourney! Thanks Chicago crew for hosting yet another competitive and fun event.
I'm glad to see ReyLo do so well.

I hesitate to say sith has gotten deep. None of those are top tier options. Some look fun to play. Congrats on the win! And on the 9 players playing. I am joining the vassal tournie to see how it goes. Playing a "non top tier" squad as well. They are the most fun! And i do like how people are playing fun looking squads.

I think most are competitive, and at least a couple have potential to be top tier with a couple tweaks, but it remains to be seen. I think it’s at least fair to say there are many more options for decently competitive (if not top tier).

And I did have fun playing even while not doing very well. Naarkon Kicked my butt round one (Bad matchup and he outplayed me), And lost a surprisingly close match against Mike Giles. It was a bad matchup for me and I thought it was just going to be hell playing against his squad but I actually had fun in the game. I beat Bryan in a game that was close until the last round, and I had fun there too. I had a bye in round two or else I’m sure I would’ve had fun in one more game.
