Hey guys!
Would there be much of a desire to do a 100 or 150 point VASSAL tourney, only using minis released by WotC?
I used to play obsessively with this game, but stopped around Clone Wars. I’m wanting to jump back in, but I’m overwhelmed by the V-sets. I think they are cool, but seem *really* powerful, and I’m more interested in playing with the original printed stuff.
Would anyone be interested in this? :)

I'd be interested, but I wouldn't be surprised if you end up seeing a lot of Black and Blue especially if 150 is the format chosen; all of the good WOTC squads have long since been created because the balance isn't exactly as present between factions and pieces as much as it is nowadays, in my opinion.

A&E Leia basically won three GenCons in a row from 2008 to 2010, I think? So she's probably a good option.
Floor rules could need clarifying - some floor rule changes affect GOWK (Soresu now works on melee and non-melee), Rapport (can't rapport below 3 points), and Tempo Control (Dodonna, Ozzel etc now need line of sight).

I might be. I remember when my local meta was just B&B and Kybuck and I dunno if this would just be a repeat.

I'd maybe play 200 WotC because it opens up more options but yeah 150 gonna be B and B and Rebels.

One option for something like this would be to hold a progressive tournament.
Players bring a separate squad for each round: Round 1: RS and CS only Round 2: RS, CS, RotS and UH Round 3: everything up to the BH set. Etc.
This would be essentially reviewing the flow and development of the game. Whether to ban pieces or not would be a matter of discussion.

I would play in whatever people wanted to do.
WOTC 150 wasn't really played much at the end really so there could easily be something including the last couple WOTC sets that was never fully explored.

I've thought before that it'd be cool to revisit how the game developed so us young'uns could see how the game grew.

Hey - a lot of people have a lot of opinions. I wanted to encourage you to still go for it. Figure out what you want to do and set it up. You'll at least get a few players, maybe more. The whole point is to play games and have fun.
I just didn't want everyone's 2 cents (mine included) to discourage you
If you build it, we will come

I would be interested in this. I am in the UK though. But on lockdown, so who knows if timings can work.

It would depend on the build total and any restrictions applied, as well as Vassal parameters, but I'm interested as well and will monitor this thread to see if anything comes of it.

Yeah, OP, just set whatever rules you want and see what sort of interest you get. I have some WotC squads that I want to try out for fun.

I would be down in a heartbeat! Where are you located OP? I am in the NJ/PA area. One thing I like to do is limit the V-Sets to just 2 cards per team. Sop you can have multiples of a generic if you like, or two uniques. It always seemed to work for me!
