Are you like me? I want to play MORE MINIS!
I have made so many fun squads I wanna try out, but gotta get more games in.
Well, the pandemic is certainly a bad thing, but let's make lemonade outta these lemons.
I present to you:
The Squadbuilding Depth Tournament!
Each player will bring 4 (FOUR!) squads.
-4 different factions
-No repeat uniques amongst all 4 squads (can't use Vader in one and Anakin in one for example).
Don’t forget a map pick for each squad (you can use maps any number of times)
All squads will be turned in and posted 2 days early so everyone can look it over.
Please include in a Bloo mail to me:
Squad #1 (2/3/4) (Copy/paste of squad) Link to squad Map for squad
For EACH squad
Tournament runs like normal, except players can only run each squad ONCE (in Swiss).
Both players choose in secret and simultaneously reveal before the match.
-Will you save your best squad for the last round?
-Will you try and guess what your opponent might play and go with a counter?
-Will you bring balanced squads to have a chance vs anything, or go with extremes and hope to get the good matchup?
There will be a fun twist for the finals - I'll post those details soon. It will also depend on number of players as to how many rounds, what we’re doing for the finals, etc. I’ll post exactly what we’re doing once player count is finalized.
Saturday May 23rd, 2pm central.
Squads and maps due in to me by Thursday May 21st at 2pm central (2 days before we start). But not before Tuesday May 19th at 2pm Central. (That is my deadline to send my stuff to a neutral party)
Please include in a Bloo mail to me:
Squad #1 (2/3/4) (Copy/paste of squad) Link to squad Map for squad
For EACH squad
EDIT (5/15)- To be clear - as far as tournament points, gambit and when games end - we will be playing with only 1 difference from the regular current rules:
Games don't end with time left on the clock, if both players have pieces that can do damage left on the board.
This is simply to allow games to continue to fight it out, even if a player reaches 200, before time is up.
*NEW INFO* (5/21)
It looks like we will be playing 4 rounds, Then cut to a top 4, which is good!
Here's how the top 4 will run (fun twists abound!)
player who finished #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 as always.
You get all 4 of your squads back for the top 4
Semi-finals
Pick a squad of your opponent that your OPPONENT CAN'T PLAY. Then pick your own squad from your remaining 3.
Finals
Each player cannot play the squad they played in the semis (but can play the one their opponent denied them in the semis, so you will have 3 options)
Each player then tosses one of their OWN squads out (leaving 2 remaining),
Then for the final twist -
Player A will choose between Player B's final 2 squads that Player B must play Player B will choose between Player A's final 2 squads that Player A must play
(I hope this wording is clear. Everyone will always play one of their own squads, but in the finals your opponent picks which one of your remaining 2 options you have to play)
Who's in?: (*Squads submitted*)

Will depend if we're allowed more than one and a half people in the same city on that date

I'm a tentative maybe for this. I'm moving this coming Saturday and it will all depend on if we've gotten wifi turned on by then. If we do, I'm in.

Even narrowing it down to FOUR squads is proving tough for me.
Next two people to respond:
Caveat - must be players that have already or are committing to playing in this (or at least going to genuinely make an effort to play in this, so Spry and Darth O certainly included):
Post a faction I am forbidden from playing. Then I’ll only have 8 to choose from. Lol

I'm in! This is a great idea.
And if you still need a faction, then...no Rebelz.

New challenge for me (or helping me narrow my options).
Next two people to respond:
(Except Laura and Trevor - they already got one so they are out for this)
Same Caveat - must be players that have already or are committing to playing in this (or at least going to genuinely make an effort to play in this, so Spry and Darth O certainly included):
Pick a unique I cannot use in ANY of my squads. (Remember, I already can’t play Rebels or All Fringe, so saying General Rieekan or Talon Karrde IB will be pretty much unnecessary.)

This is tough for J, having to build his own squads
