Announcing the November Squad Swap tournament (on Vassal again): Friday November 13, 8:30pm Eastern We'll do two rounds that night. If we have a 3rd round, the last round can be either played that night (if the players are up for it) or played in the next few days. Quote:
Each player builds a squad as usual, but in round 1 each player uses their opponent's squad. So in round 1 you will play against the squad you built.
In each successive round, you take the squad you just used to the next table, and the two players swap squads before playing the game. So whenever you win, in the next round you have to beat the squad you had just won with.
This results in a winning player (the player who won all their games). And it results in a winning squadbuilder (whoever built the squad that won all of its games). These will necessarily be different players since the winning squadbuilder will have lost to their own squad in round one. You'll get to know multiple squads during the tournament: you build one squad and then play several different squads during the tournament.
We need 4 players to run the tournament and can handle up to 8. (Numbers are limited so that the tournament can run in just 3 hours in one evening, plus the finals.) If we have a 3-round tournament, we'll all play with our own squads in the first round. In that case, we'll still have a different player-winner and squadbuilder-winner, but we'll all get to both play with and against our own squads. Post here if you're interested in playing. It depends on the size of the tournament. If it's just 4, we will swap squads first round. If get more than 4 players, then we will play 3 rounds and the first round everyone will use their own squads. (I want the last round to be players using 2 squads neither player built.)

Well since Covid19 is spiking across the nation, indoor dining has been shut down again here. So, out of a job for ???
But at least that means I may be able to play some minis!

Yes, we got to 5 players, so that means a 3rd round and we'll use our own squads for the first round. Unfortunately, it means a bye if we don't find a 6th player. The swapping also gets a little bit weird by the end if we have 6 instead of 8, but 6 would still be better than 5. And 7 better than 6.
