I've gotten all squads except for Jason's. For game #8, I think it makes more sense to have the pairings be 1st vs Bye, 2nd v 7th, 3rd, vs 6th, and 4th vs 5th. So however the rankings appear after this week's game, we will determine the matchups for the final game of round 4. And then we will go to the playoffs which will be 1st vs 4th, and 2nd vs 3rd for game #9 and winner of each game then face off for final game #10. Hope that all makes sense and is ok with everyone.

Laura won the map roll so we played on CrimeLord’s Palace. I set up in the top-right corner of the map, and she set up on the top-left. Neither of us bothered with gambit in this game. Han was the recipient of buffs from Luke (first of the New Order) and Yoda (Jedi Trainer). Boba was a Rebel Hunter.

Round 1: Laura won init (Han let her roll twice for init and prevented my Tactician +4 from working) so she advanced Juno up the main hallway between our two forces. I advanced my people through and around the Armory/Laboratory rooms. At the end of the round, thanks to a CE-push from Vindicated, Boba was able to draw a line on Chewie for 80dmg.

Round 2: Laura won init and chose to go first. I figured that she can’t kill Jango or Vindicated without a crit, so I used resolnare to position my people (especially those 2 guys) in position for a nasty retaliation after Han shot Jango. Han shot Jango for 120dmg (100 after beskar) and moved back to a place of relative safety. Jango then charged out for a big Furious Assault which targeted all of the Rebel scum, after which C3P0, Juno, Chewie, and Lando (crit) were dead. Vindicated then did his thing and finished off Leia and put a big 120dmg into Luke. Yoda charged forward with a flurry of wise words and a crit to kill Jango. Kelborn and Resurrected worked together to finish off R2 and Han, then Boba came out to kill Yoda (including a crit). At the end of the round it was a 40hp epic Luke vs 7 mandalorians.

Round 3: Laura won init again (even with my Tactician +4 in operation) and used Surprise Move with Luke to move up and base Boba/Kelborn/Mira. I used resolnare to retreat both Kelborn and Mira so that they couldn’t be triple-attacked. Boba then took that triple in the face, and it included a crit and a flurry…afterward he was still standing with 50hp. He used Deadeye to finish Luke off.

The map wasn’t helpful to Laura in this matchup, because of the wide open hallways, and her overall lack of ranged defense on top of that. I rolled a couple of significant crits (like the one to kill Lando) too. As always, ‘twas fun to game with Laura. Thanks for the game!

Urbanjedi defeats spry 344-260

Lots of bad rolls on attacks all over, including spry with one set of 6,1,1,6,1,4 on attack rolls. But lots of good rolls on saves for both beskar, sith sorcery, SSM, and Escape Death.

I basically was trying to pick his guys off one by one, and he was doing the same although my guys were much tankier (especially with his bad attack rolls).

At the end of the game it was his 10hp Boba (who had already made a couple of Escape death saves) and a couple of scrubs vs my full health Bane, nearly full health Zannah and Darth Bandon. Had the game gone another round or two I would have been able to get the full win with gambit even if Boba had stayed alive.

Spry defeats Mando 3-1 (412-217)

I made some stupid errors and got really lucky to win. I lost Din Djarin before I could get my Twins off and that was costly. Boba's nutty damage was my saving grace. It was mostly the Boba/Kelborn/Cobb show with Cara/Migs/Fennic/Armorer contributing a small portion. Lesson learned for future games.

Laura once again won the map roll, so we once again played on Crimelord's Palace. I once again set up in the top-right corner. Boba became a Unique Hunter. However, this time Laura set up mostly in the bottom-left corner, but (just like last time) she gave all the boosts to Han.

Round 1: She advanced Han, Juno, and 3P0 through the main Hanger door, with the rest of her squad going along the bottom of the map (just north of the Steamroom). When I figured it was safe, I charged Jango forward for a Furious Assault which targeted a whole two characters: he killed Juno and put 20dmg on 3P0 (and a 1). Vindicated moved last, so that his CE could push Jango back to safety. The rest of my squad advanced toward the big gambit room. No gambit for either of us.

Round 2: Laura won initiative but she had no viable targets, thanks to Resolnare and my positioning in the prior round. However, Han sensed imminent danger so he ran to catch up with his buddies. Jango used FA again to attack most of Laura's squad (everyone except Han, Lando, and Leia) but not kililng anyone. I didn't have any great options so I moved Mira up to blast a door for Jango's benefit later on. Laura then used the Such Loyalty in a Droid ability with Leia and R2 to move Luke forward. Luke was not yet activated, so I popped out with Resurrector and shot 4x, putting a total of 60dmg into Luke. Boba then went up to finish the job and rolled a 1 on the first attack (nice!); he hit the second attack, which Luke deflected away. Luke then ran forward to pour 90dmg on Resurrector. My Tactician shot Luke with a crit, and then later in the round Vindicated moved up to finish Luke with a twin attack. Yoda came forward, and Kelborn punched him once. Han is in a good place to pour out some heavy damage when he wins init...

Round 3: ...except I won init! I resolnare my people into devastating positions, and my Tactician has LOS to Yoda. Vindicated kills both Han and Chewie with his Triple Attack...and then Laura informs me that I didn't declare that I was activating 3 guys this turn...ugh. Yoda put the finishing touches on Resurrector's death warrant, and Lando tickled Vindicated. Boba overkilled Leia, and then Kelborn and Mira and Jango combined to bring Yoda to 10 hp.

Round 4: Now that Han is gone I won init with no trouble. Between Jango and Boba and Vindicated, the rest of the Rebels left the table.


Once again, this matchup was just not in Laura's favor: I make a pile of ranged attacks, but she has very few pieces with protection against them. This game was more interesting and enjoyable than our previous match because it involved a lot more interesting maneuvering and tactics this time.
