With every set some minis become less playable and some get a second life.
I was just wondering what you guys though were some of the minis that GAW made playable again

Well some of the minis I am liking are
Maul on speeder-Gen WL charging 12 for 80 how is that not fun.
Maul COTS-Gen WL 8 attacks for 240 damage.
Wookiees in Republic again-ashoka with rolling cleave
Princess xizor with Arica/bane or ERC with bane.

Well What you gets think are some of the minis that you have to bring out to play again because of GAW?

Honestly, as silly as it sounds, I can't wait to be using plain ol' battle droids as activation fodder for the first time in a long time.

Yeah, I'm definitely seeing the most old things come back to life in the Sep faction because of Whorm. Grievous Wheel Bike is hilarious. Maul COTS is probably the one I'm most interested in. A couple other things like Bossk BH with Momentum and Twin should be fun. I'm looking forward to Tyranus DLOTS rising back towards the top again as well. Honestly, it's all the living Seps that I'm excited about. I've had enough of the Droids. Nothing in the new set really changes much about how Droid squads are run. Sure, there's some new options, but the tactics/strategy are much the same as they were a year ago when GGDAC came out. The new options for the Living Seps are the really intriguing ones for me.

As for other 'old' pieces though...it's been a while since JWMs have been truly competitive. With General Skywalker, they will be a thing to fear with Assault and Momentum, I think.

I've only been playing less than a year now, and just got my GGDAC within the last two months.

Seriously (and not trying to sound snarky!), apologies for when I look like a tool. BigGrin

Can I ask one thing, regarding the wheelbike?

Aren't you effectively giving up his movement ability to keep in range of Loathsome/Mouse droids?

(not that it's a bad trade off for Twin, but I just wanted to make sure I understood the strategy.)

I love the ISP, with Capt. Rex they rock, but their low HP is scary. How do you keep them alive?

Forgive me if this is taken as spamming, but something between your name, and that post Urza, just had me laughing so hard my cat now thinks I've lost it.

well the movement plus 2 from the gunner should help a little. You can run a shield bearer if needed too. I dont know how you can get the atk up? gree or one of the targeting droids.

Ask away...
You typically run the MD out first, then follow with the attacker benefitting from the CE.

Since you have access to San (and now Tuuk), you can use the tactic above at the end of the round to make good use of the MD/Bike combo. You can still get his 18 squares of movement with good use of the Mouse.

Yes its a problem, 18 squares is too greedy :)
but u can walk with the mouse droid 12 squares and after u can activate Wheelbike and walk 18 so 12 squares from mouse droid + range 6 = 18 Squares.

No doubt. I can't wait to pair Durge with Whorm, Xizor, and a swarm of Aqualish Assassins. The Assassins will be able to swing twice for +19 atk and 40dmg per hit. As long as you don't run up against something like Yobuck or an IG Lancer, it should be a fun, casual squad!

Durge 39pts.
Xizor 30pts.
Whorm 20pts.
Mar Tuuk 14pts.
Aqualish Assassin x10 70pts.
Lobot 27pts.
(brings in an Aqualish Assassin, 3 mouse droids, and 1 Uggie Demo.)

200 total pts. and 20 activations

How about a T1 squad, Whorm to give them twin and BD Sgt to give it 50 damage. Sure its melee, but what a pouding it can dish out for 21 points. Throw Gha into the squad and the new Tambor and you could call another one up. Use em in pairs to lift each other. Even AoO would be painful.
