This is a branch off of my old post.
We are holding a DCI tourament at the Game Keep in Hermitage, TN (about 15-20 minutes east of Nashville) on January 16, 2010. The event will start at 11 am that morning. As of now, prizes are still in discussion (all depends on how many people we have there) The owner of the store is willing do atleast start with store credit for the winners to get the choice of anything that they would like out of the store. We are talking about raising the prizes up to cases of different sets for the event. If anyone is interested please let me know.
PS: Dark_Jedi_21, if this works for you, you and anyone you can bring from KY are more than welcome to come. I don't know if you can, but if you are able to run this event as far as a judge is concerned please get with me on what all we need to have setup to make things run smoother.

That's going to be really close to the next release which means you will be competing against alot of release tourneys. Just thought I'd mention that.

yeah, I know man, I just though that it would be cool to have one here aswell so you guys that was in ky could come this way, or some of the guys that are coming from future south didn't have to drive as far. We are just doing this to have a good time with some friendly competition!

Is your gaming store set up to be a DCI tournament site? Is the store owner a tournament organizer? You will also need a computer with the DCI event reporter software. I will see what I can put together.

Ok, it is official, the tournament has been set at Next Level Games on January 16th @ 11:00 am. The 16th is the second Saturday of next month. I personally talked to the owner of the store and this is how the event will go. It will be a $10.00 fee to get in, we will have DCI membership cards for new event players. There will be prize support but we are still working out the finalize deal with that. The events address is:

I checked the place out today, its awesome, and their Boosters (from rebel storm to CW) are only 12.99! i racked up on a few myself and got some good pulls. But yea, Its pretty big, its clean, and if we get alot of people, we can play across the hall in the mall in a even bigger room. Im looking more forward to this.

So what is the format for the tournament? Is it 200, 150? Have you sanctioned it through DCI?

we wont find out until monday, but we are looking at 200 point builds.  depending on the turn out, whoever goes undefeated, goes to the finals. the rounds wont be determined until we know the turn out.

Yes you wont be able to I just want to make sure everything runs smoothly for you guydetermine the number of rounds untill you see how many people, but you need to decide on a build total and sanction it through the dci website before the tournament date. Does the store have a laptop to run the tournament on?
Im just trying to think of things that need to be done. I want to make sure everything goes smoothly for you guys.
