Hey folks! I've started a fundraising/pre-order drive for my next poster map via Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mapmaker/mass-transit-ii-poster-mapIt's a terrific way to get this map (and others, if you wish!) without paying any shipping costs. Plus, there are extra rewards for those who pledge at higher levels, like signed prints from my portfolio or even a signed copy of Starships of the Galaxy! Check out the link above for details. If you have a Facebook profile it lets you use that instead. And payment is through Amazon. For me, that meant I didn't have to make anything new, just approve Kickstart use those two existing accounts.

That's how I set mine up as well, very easy with the hardest part was having to remember my Amazon password, lol.

I recommend this option for anyone who hasn't gotten the maps that Chris has personally created since the end of official SWM maps.
Even if you have already bought both of his maps and his terrain tiles, you can still pick up the new map with free shipping.

edit: pre-ordered!! Very easy process! Don't hesitate to get this done people, we have till the 8'th of June according to the site, I am not sure if that is a hard date or not, but let's pony up here and keep these maps coming, we don't have new pieces to buy anymore, so no excuses!!! lol

After the funding deadline on the night of June 8th (yep, that's a hard cutoff right at midnight), if the funding goal has been met, Kickstarter gives me your e-mail address. At that time, I'll be sending out an e-mail to all of the backers asking for their mailing address, and choice of maps.

We're 1/4 of the way to the funding goal after one weekend. I'm very optimistic!

after just 3 days, we are a third of the way there!! The sooner you pre-order the sooner we meet the goal, the sooner Chris gets the maps printed, the sooner we get to use them!!!

So after you get enough to go ahead when will it be that the map is printed and sent?

The pre-order drive ends on June 8th at midnight, at which point I'll know the funding is available and will be able to place the order with my printer (assuming we meet the funding goal). Then I send the files to the printer, and they usually need a couple of weeks to get the posters back to me. So, if everything goes as planned, it will probably be near the end of June when the maps are shipped out to backers. That said--if we exceed the funding goal early, I will go ahead and place the order with the printer early. Which means that the maps could conceivably be finished and ready to mail out as early as June 9th, if we get sufficient pre-orders early enough for me to arrange that.

Also, I've added an additional reward/incentive: Everyone who backs the project (at any level) will be able to download a PDF version of these poster maps if we meet the funding goal. Please keep spreading the word among the Star Wars gaming community; I think we can make this happen! :)

Do you mean PDF of all maps or the ones we order or just these ones you're trying to get printed? Sounds cool though.

However, you raise an interesting question; I'll give some thought to including PDFs of my existing posters (Mass Transit and Forsaken Lands) as well.
