Got no interest in them as they are simply weapons. I can't see any recreational perpose these horrid little devices can acheve.

It's human nature, if they get a shiny lazor, first thing they do is point it at another human to see how effective it is. XD

Interestingly, though, they left reflectors on the moon so that scientists can bounce lasers off the moon for various experiments, which you have to admit is cool, so somebody has big-boy lasers powerful and accurate enough to do it.

I'll watch out if my opponent pulls out one of these as Line of Sight device. Nevermind my retinas and skin; he's liable to burn a hole in the map and melt my minis if things aren't going his way.

I asked my co-worker (who makes these out of hard woods), and you are close. A licensed laser can be seen with the eye about two miles out, but the beam will travel much farther. When you point it at a full moon you are seeing the refraction of the beam off the water in the atmosphere against the white background (so, as I understand it, you are really hitting the clouds).
