10 should be fine. With Gha you could bring in 10 with Lobot in one skirmish. So unless you have friends who use your minis, I would think 10 is just fine.
I have 6 and have never used them all in one game.

For abot a year I ionly had one mouse. Last month I bought two for a pretty reasonble price so can run some of my vassal squads a bit better in real life now.

I have 10 and pulled one more in one of the 50% off IE boosters I got at Target. I plan to trade it to my brother, so he'll have 2. I only use all 10 when I'm running Separatists, and 2 is usually enough for any other faction. (OR, Sith, Rebels, NR)

I'd say it all depends on how many people borrow from your collection regularly.

Unless you plan on running some of the super high activation squads where you want to bring in 10 mice with Lobot and have some in the main squad I think 10 is plenty. I personally have 12 or 13 but have never used them all at once, the most I have ever used is 8 in my regional squad.

I got two in my case, but I cut one off of each mini so that I have 4.

I've got 4, and have been considering cutting mine off to do the same thing, but I dont want to do it if I couldnt play them at Gencon, etc.

I thought so.
On the one hand, I think that makes sense. On the other hand, I dont see a difference in doing that, and having already existing pieces that will need little to no modding serve as the pieces for the V-sets.
I think the V-set thing will be more confusing than the mouse droids. Why should you be penalized for having one little mouse droid on a base, instead of two, when they still both look like a mouse droid, but its perfectly ok for me to confuse my opponent by using Han, Rebel Hero to represent V-set piece "Han, Super-Endor-Secret-Agent-Man"?
By confusing, I mean they could foget which one Im using, or if theyve never encountered the V-set, however unlikely, that they simply dont remember that its supposed to be something other than the figure that the bottom of the base says it is. This is something they arent likely to be confused over with one mouse per base opposed to two.
Who cares if the bottom of a single-mouse-droid-piece says "Ewok" or anything else? your not looking at that part, your looking at the actual piece.

Honestly, I would have to drag up the thread on gamers to remember his position. But I am pretty certain that the 181st/Elite AT-AT Driver vs customs are spelled out in the floor rules, where ever they are now.

The "cutting up mouse droids" issue was adressed in the last floor rules update. If you use any customs (like a mouse droid with just one mouse) you have to have an official card for each. So you could cut up your 2 mouse droids and make them 4, but you will need 4 cards to play them all.
On the main topic, I only have about 7, but one of the guys in our group has 30+, and he lets whoever needs them borrow some. If he weren't around, I'd like at least 12 or so to best run the gha + lobot combo.

I have 2 and find them to be enough for my squads. I mainly run Republic though so I don't use them all that much, but when I run double evade NR, the 2 of them works just fine.

If I recall if you have any customs of a piece you need a card for each of that piece that you are playing regardless of how many are customs and how many are non-custom. So if you had 6 custom and 4 regular mice you would need 10 mouse droid cards.

So my brother and I bought SWMs for the first time ages ago, then got back into it about a year ago, maybe longer now. I had only previously ever bought one booster of A&E. Bought 2 this time round on IE and had 2 mice! Little did I realise how precious they are and I didn't really understand how they worked. My tale of woe is that I actually lost one of them and have never found it again. I picked up another one so now have 3 cards but only two mice. I just keep hoping I will find the third figure somewhere on my sisters bedroom floor :(
But I find that 2 serves me nicely.

Ok, so the 'you have to have a card' is nice, and I understand it being in the floor rules, for when WotC was still making the game. obviously they wouldnt have wanted players just cutting up their minis, which keeps them from needing to buy more, which lowers WotC profits.
However, since the game is done now, and "Gamers is running things", then couldnt they just get rid of that part, or edit it to something along the lines of you must have at least one card for the figures. So you could bring 4 mice if you wanted, but since they all have the same stats, you only need one card...
Also, in regards to this 'you must have the right number of cards' rule....so, if I wanted to play 50 Battle Droids at Gencon in the 200, then I would have to bring 50 Battle Droid cards? I couldnt just use one card, in light of them all having the same stats?
