My initial thought was, "Overcosted - why ever take him over Stuckuss or Boba Merc or CS Aurra." But like the description says... add a Czerka and TBSV and he's a powerhouse. He seems dependent on support, though, to be a better option than the other mid-to-high 30s fringe shooters.

Cunning? Cunning? Kast's entire character arc was defined by opportunistic choices. Other than this rather obvious flaw in accuracy, I think its a very good piece. Looks very similar to my interpretation in my Allegiance set, actually.

With Opportunist there is 0 reason to play him instead of dash. first off he is 10 points higher then dash doesnt have built in GMA. It takes MINIMUM(caps for emphasis) 31 points to get him GMA and Twin (via czerka at 13 TBSV at 18) so you would have to spend a whopping 69 points to get him to just be as good as dash (albiet +2 attack and BH+2). Giving him cunning means you have a good early round fringe shooter not a dash wannabe. Judo does fill the role that Jarael and Dash RS are filling now in squads for fringe support. Your going to have to build with him in mind from the start instead of tossing him in like you can jarael or dash cause he does need a little support to be effective. I like the idea of using Jodo, Rex, Dash, TBSV, czerka scientist all in the same squad. 4 awesome shooters and thats only half your squad! you can fill it out with decent Jedi support and R2 and really have an awesome shooting team.

The Cunning vs Opportunist thing is easy.
Like Weeks said, there would be zero reason to play Jodo Kast over Dash if he had opportunist. I think they could be an awesome combo personally.
Put them with the Exile, Atton and a Czerka and you have something pretty sweet.
He should go nice with Thrawn too.

I wouldn't consider +2 Atk, +3 Def, +10 HP, Virulent Poison Dart and Bountyhunter 2 to be no reason at all. Besides, your arguement assumes Cunning would be swapped for Opportunist. My version has Opportunist +20 and swaps Double for Twin. I feel that would be more inline with his character while differentiating him from Dash.

only 10 damage? only BH+2? The guy wasn't that bad. He was a good bounty hunter, just not as good as fett.
Still I'm glad for al the work they guys put into these pieces

Someone on Gamers suggested using an extra Rex 501st Commander as a custom for Jodo. :) As for the Cunning/Opportunist thing, I don't really think I had considered the fact that he took advantage of opportunities presented to him, and wasn't all that Cunning. But then again, the same could probably be said for Han, and two of 3 best Hans (Scoundrel and GH) both have Cunning. So, try not to attach it too much to logic. ;) Weeks and Sashlon have got it right. If we gave him Opportunist, then he would have to be so awesome, that you'd actually want to play him instead of Dash, which would mean adding yet another undercosted Opportunist Fringe shooter to the game. The Design team didn't want to take that route. Honestly, IMO, there's too much Opportunist in the game already, which is what drives people to wanting to use the Tempo control stuff all of the time. With some of the other new pieces in this set, tempo control won't be as useful anymore, and adding more Cunning attackers to the game helps with that. @ crazybirdman: Compare him to Boba Enforcer. Boba can only do 20 damage per turn. Jodo can do AT LEAST 20 per turn, with either Double or Cunning Attack. Plus, Jodo can easily get Twin from either the TBSV or Whorm, while Whorm is the only option for Boba. I think for the points, he's a pretty good comparison. Heck, he's still a +14 with both Cunning and BH, which is the same as Boba Enforcer with BH +4. ;)

So you really wanted a minor character who was pretty terrible at his job who had to pretend to be Boba Fett, without the skills, to have opp20 and twin? No thanks, that is much more inaccurate than this version. Cunning here is used simply as a limited damage boost. They didn't want him to have 20 base damage, to limit his potencial and his attack, so a conditional bonus it is. It also works well with czerka or Whorm, so there's your twin. Cunning is overall less useful than opportunist, and considering this guy was kind of a crap BH, it makes sense to have him be less useful than another. With that said, he's better than Boba Enforcer in a lot of ways, so let's not complain too much about it. This is not a power 10 mini guys - he's a medium cost fringe support that has some uses, that's the point of this one. Making an "uber" Kast just doesn't make sense in canon. He was kinda terrible.

He is a decent mini. I missed Double originally, so I was scratching my head a bit. I may end up using him and Enforcer with Whorm.
Edit: I also agree with Billiv, too much Opportunist. It is nice, but has sort of become overused. Nice to have a decent Cunning Attacker attacker again.

A minor character like Dash, perhaps? He is cheaper and has Double/Twin/GMA built in. Quote: Cunning here is used simply as a limited damage boost. I understand wanting the mini to be a reasonable mid-level piece as is fitting to his character. However, there is a difference between adding a SA to a character that isn't necessarily supported by the descriptions in movies/books and giving the same character an SA in opposition to said descriptions.

I don't know. I think Jodo was pretty cunning to think up the idea of using Boba's armor colors and stealing his identity for a while. He had to be pretty cunning in order to pull it off for so long. Sure, he got caught eventually. See...still works...from a certain point of view.

Ok, Semantics-Wan Kenobi. From that point of view, we have Greedo with Cunning. *sigh*

Dash was one of many power creep mistakes by WOTC, not your best example really. Dash should not be the bar you expect the Design Team to reach for.

The description in the books is Jodo Kast a poor excuse for a Bounty Hunter, who was often times impulsive and jumped the gun. Cunning is the lesser of the two abilities. How can you say (paraphrasing) "Jodo KAst sucked in the books and you guys blew it by not giving him the best abilities, highest damage and Accurate shot!" LoboStele wrote: I don't know. Damage 10, Twin and Opportunist +20 are now the ultimate combination in the game? Good thing I pulled so many TBSVs cause for 31 points with a Czerka they must be invincible. And they aren't even unique!
