[Mod Edit: This thread is being provided for people to ask specific questions about the V-Set, "Destiny of the Force". If you have a serious question about it, post it here. Otherwise, please find a more appropriate thread to post in. - eMouse]

[content edit - eMouse]

So to clear up for everyone here that seem a bit late to the game or have fallen for the misinformation being paraded around let me clear up how you can get your own copy of the Destiny of the Force.

1. The very first thing I need to cover is we longer need donations for the printing. Why did we need donations? So we could make these cards free to the community. Did you ever go to church camp? Remember there was always some older folks at your church that had no kids or theirs were grown up? Do you remember that they would pay for a kid to go to camp for free because they wanted to? Well that is exactly what the donations were for. Making sure everyone could enjoy these cards for free.

2. Why are you looking for point men on Gamers to distribute the set? Well because this is one other way we can make the DOTF set totally free for folks in areas with larger gaming groups. Why? Because I can send 10 sets to one guy say like Weeks. He then hands them out to his guys when they have their weekly tourney. One postage fee and everyone gets their cards again. This keeps things totally free.

3. What do I need to do to get a set. Go over to gamers and see if there is someone in your area ordering for the area. If there is one. Let him know you need one. If there is not and you have say 6 local players post you will be the point man for that area. That is it. If things go well I dont want anyone out there to pay a cent for these. There are 500 sets that should be plenty.

4. what happens if you run out because the response is overwhelming and brings out all the people that have quit? What do we do? Well as has been explained there are going to be free downloads online for folks to use. IF we run out and it becomes an issue to the folks a Gencon or Regionals then we will cross that bridge when we get there. But as a general policy from running events at Gencon and Regionals we will turn no one away that wants to play this game.

5. Are you infringing on a copyright? Yes but no more than any website (this one included or mine). Wotc is kind of out of the picture but lets be clear there is a thing in the law called precedent. When you are allowed to do something for over 6 years it is hard to be called illegal when both LFL and Wotc turned a blind eye. There have been several court cases over the years that have tested this and the supreme court of the united states has backed it. When a tradition becomes the norm over several years then the policy or law that has been ignored becomes irrelevant.

Do you have more questions? Ask them. I am really tired of seeing some guys that have decided they dont like what is being done and then misleading others on what is actually going on. Does this help clear anything up? Well I hope so.

Thanks for the information, Dean.

It took me several clicks to find the pointman thread, so to save others those clicks:

Here's the deal guys. This is going to be a lean and mean 'just the facts' thread. If you have a serious question about the Destiny of the Force V-Set in general (questions about previews or new rules can be addressed elsewhere), feel free to ask it here. Hopefully someone from the V-Set crew will come around and provide an answer. I or another mod will be periodically pruning this thread down so that it focuses on facts and answers.

If you're answering a question, please quote the question you're answering if it's a necessary reference. I intend to even prune out question posts once there's an answer posted.

Okay guys, and I mean everyone, even if you're not a guy. This is your last warning for this thread. This purpose of this thread has been laid out. It's not to continue arguments from prior threads. It's not to 'take sides' in any sort of argument. If you have a question about the V-Set, post it. If you are one of the V-Set people and have an answer to a question, post it. Anything else, find another thread to post in. It's that simple.

Maybe a quick question from me, what happens if you have almost no other SWM players in your area? Do you still become a pointman?

I think the idea is to get it out to larger groups while saving shipping costs. If you aren't representing a group, I don't think you need to sign up as a point man.

(But as I understand it, you'll still be able to get a set. If you donated it comes automatically, and if you haven't you don't require any extra organization at this point and how to get it will be clarified later.)

Go ahead and sign up in the thread so we know to get it out to you. Folks in areas that are kind of alone are as high a priority as the game groups.

The guys that will be low on the priority list are the guys wanting a set from say Cincy and did not bother to get with Lobostele since he is their point man. So make sure you are checking the thread to see if there is someone in your area.

First off...thank you all who put a super effort into this and continuing the SWM game for all of us!

Next...I signed up for the Notheast, OH region pointman...(on Gamers) FYI. This covers Canton, Akron, Cleveland, etc. (10 sets so far)

Last...my question:
If there are enough requests, will there be serious thought to a second printing of "official" cards?
If so, how many past the 500 sets will it take to print again?

(note: I am assuming there will be a donation run again to cover the costs of printing, etc)

that is a good question Huk which at this time I dont have the answer to. Will we print another 500 if we need to? hmmm. I think at that time we would have to have people commit to the need before paying a printer. I am not sure if we can get 250 done but logic says the cost would be higher on a lower number per unit. But say we have 250 people dying for it. We have a hard number of people and names that say they need them. Well then we would probably do another donation drive to get them their cards (for free still). I personally dont mind donating $20 to something like that because again I am no longer paying for 3 cases per set. So long run I am still way ahead budget wise.

I am really hoping 500 covers everyone but I would not mind being stuck with that problem because that means more people are wanting to still play than we orginally expected. This will also help us make sure our numbers are right for the v-set 2 project.

I know that is a long winded I dont have answer right now but I am glad you have asked the question. This is something I have thought about and spoken to others about. It is the cross the bridge if we get to it kind of thing.

Can Pointmen start threads on Bloo Milk, to ensure we don't miss anyone?

You are welcome to start a thread, but the info still has to be copied over to gamers for Dean's convenience.

Scott is correct. Yeah Matthew that is great if you want to. I dont want you missing any Aussies or NZ guys because I would really like to only ship once over there.

I dont want anyone missing out.

But yes for ease of things please move your numbers once you have them over to one location.

By the way the print job has started today!!!!

Hello, I believe this question is a no, but, for the V-set cards, do they come with the orginal figure too? or do you just get the cards? ( i think it is the latter)

So I mentioned this elsewhere, but I donated and was wondering what the process was again for me to get the set of cards through the donation? Thanks!

Dont worry about Wedges group I have that info and you guys are going to get yours.

Bene if you donated you will be getting yours. But if you are not a point man I may send it to you through your area point man which at the moment I dont know who that is. It maybe Ruhk or R5Don4 or Tint. So anyways they will get there have no fears.

I posted the pointmen list from Gamers in a thread here. (Dean, if you have a problem with that just let me or a mod know and we'll remove it...or change it to a link to Gamers.)

Also, Dean, I have not ran across any mention of a disclaimer about people selling these cards (Ebay auctions, etc.). I assume this would be very bad juju for the V-sets, Gamers and the SWM game. Can we get an official statement about this? (if there has been one, can you point me to it. I'd like to quote it as much as possible.)
Thanks.
