what minis are never in circulation (minis that are never in trade lists, never on ebay or swm sites or by chance in a bad set or an old set) so if you u want them, you can expect to pay an obscene amount of $ (more than the generally agreed value), or wait a while for one to come along.
here are my top 10:
darth sion mandalore the ultimate aurra cs storm commando AT-RT Rancor jawa on ronto young krayt dragon nikto gunner on desert skiff Blizzard Scout I

Non-uniques pieces are the most sought after...
CS Destroyer Droid (fantastic sculpt) At-Rt
But you can pretty much find anything...
its just that question of are you prepared to pay $40-$60 for a little piece of plastic ?

So true. I remember a rather long time ago when the Darth Maul from Clone Strike was going for $100 and the original Boba from Rebel Storm was $75+. By the way, if AT-RT's are so hard to find, what's their average selling price right now? I have one, so I'm wondering if I should insure it.

Probably pay $20-30 USD they are hard to find as everyone want more than one ... I have 4 !!!!!!

Just went to ebay... found 4 AT-rts... 3 in one shop $25 USD each
That shop had pretty much all of the minis listed in the commentry above.
Just shows... not that hard to find... just expensive.

I didn't start out as a completionist, but now that I have 11 to go, I guess it would be nice to finish it. I have had chances with trades/ purchases to get all of these,(except number 1 on the list!) but I often opted to go for other pieces, like getting 3 Commandos on Speeders, and 4 Sandtroopers on Dewbacks. (I wanted squad assault lol)
1. Scouttrooper on Speeder (Rebel Storm) 2. Aayla Secura (Clone Strike) 3. Anakin Skywalker (Clone Strike) 4. Agen Kolar (Clone Strike) 5. Mace Windu (Clone Strike) 6. Padme Amidala (Clone Strike) 7. Yoda (Clone Strike) 8. Battledroid on STAP (Clone Strike) 9. Count Dooku (Clone Strike) 10. Warmaster Tsavong Lah (Universe) 11. IG88 Bounty Hunter (Bounty Hunters)
The problem is, with the possible exception of Yoda, there isn't anything meta here. I don't see the logic in spending 40$ or more on a piece that I'll never play just so I can complete my collection.

If you're planning to play with the new pieces from the virtual sets, a number of those characters WILL be a bit more meta... and in some cases, have new, official stats!

isn't it funny how some people just attract certain mini's in pulls while others are hard to get? I've spent a fortune on GAW and can't seem to get any VR's they are always rares Everytime I buy a IE I always get a logary! and when it's lotf it's either Luke Skywalker LotlS or Cade skywalker Bounty hunter... The hardest for me are definitly all the pieces around the $45 and up mark singly I don't even know if singly is a word... -Cad Bane -Darth Sion -Jango fett -Bobba fett -grievious warlord -destroyer driod -at-at -darth revrevan -darth talon -exar kun I have most of those but those are the pieces i see alot on peoples want lists and are very high $$$

Cases is the only way to go (iknow its more cash up front) The latest sets.. IE for example... one case all the rares + 4 VR if you really wanted a second case would see you have a chance to complete the VR and have a full set of rares to trade with others.
