I remember reading that there was going to be an updated list of legal maps for tournament play (specifically to include some of JC, AG7, and MapMaker maps). Does anyone know if this has been done yet? If so, where can we find it? If not, is there a timeline for when this will be done? Thanks... and my apologies if this was covered elsewhere and I just missed it.

Thanks, but that's not very helpful. I don't get over there much as it's easier to get my info from a single site (and know I'm not the only one... especially since some people don't like or can't access that site from work). I actually like the site, but just don't have the time to follow both so only get over there very rarely. And, I and don't consider it double posting when it's on a different site.
I just went over and with 1000s of threads, and I couldn't do a search because it deleted both "map" and "list" (even in "legal map list") because they are common words. I'll keep trying and post it here if/when I find it because I know a lot of people use just one site or the other. If someone happens to have easy access to where it is and you find it before me, please still post it (or at least the link) here.

Once you find it, just post the link.

http://swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=183&t=9858 right? I was looking for it yesterday. It's near the top under the Future of the Game, Community Input section - sometimes direct links to swmgamers make me login first, then forget when they're sending me.

The list has been PT'd and sent to Dean. Look for it in the next Rules Update which ideally should be in the next week or so.

It doesn't look like this question has been answered yet and I'm trying to find out the correct answer myself. I know that the new floor rules have NOT come out as of this post, and that is where the new legal maps will be. But, if I'm not mistaken, the current list of legal maps is in the floor rules from Jan 2010 found here: http://www.swmgamers.com/page.php?27Please let me know if I am wrong. Thanks

It's near the top under the Future of the Game, Community Input section - sometimes direct links to swmgamers make me login first, then forget when they're sending me. When that happens, I just close out the Gamers window (after logging in) and reclick on the original link. Then it will send you to the right page. (as you will still be logged into Gamers)

If people are going to start another one of those dumb@#% bloo milk vs gamers things I'm going to scream. It's really not hard to register (you did that here, right?) and I don't get the constant carping about how difficult to navigate gamers is. I am a computer novice, and I can do it just fine. I'm sure as soon as there is an actual list to look at, bloo milk will get it too C'mon people

We are not going down this road. Bring it back to the actual map list, not the individual sites.

No there is not a new map list yet. It is very close and the decisions have been made.
Should be ready to go under the new floor rules in next few hours or so maybe.

you can download just about everything you need to run or play in a tournament right off of gamers front page. http://www.swmgamers.com/page.php?27It has been there for quite a while.

Here's a link to the page from which the new floor rules can be downloaded: http://www.swmgamers.com/page.php?27I had to find it for myself in order to learn that none of my maps were chosen for the new Restricted list; very frustrating and discouraging.

I found that rather surprising. Several of your recent maps seem to have been specially-designed with protected gambit that would make them more likely to make the restricted list. Dagobah, for example. Errr... Swamplands... Five from JC MapPack4 made the restricted list, but not the map that has gambit specially highlighted with different-colored squares.

I was fairly certain that the offworld shipping center was a shoe-in for the restricted list, as it is arguably the best map ever. I have always enjoyed playing on that map, no matter what my team was, and no matter what the enemy was. I have played on it countless times, and I don't see any reason why it would have been left off.
I actually am not a huge fan of the swamp map, with all of the hindered terrain and lack of cut off points, so I can see why they chose the standard list for that one. I have not played enough on the newest offworld maps to actually have an opinion on balance, but I would have thought they would have been considered for the restricted list also.
