Not sure what 'cannon characters' entails. How strict are we gonna be here? For example, Luke Skywalker and/or R2 was not in the Hoth base at the time of the Imperials entering it, nor was General Rieekan for that matter... Likewise, are we saying that ALL of the characters in the movie have to be present too? i.e. Han, Leia, Chewy and CP0 vs. Darth Vader (General Veers is pushing it -- could have been, but not seen). Dunno.
Does this mean we're able to use V-Set pieces? Unclear.
I say, for the interest of having fun and not being a cannon-weenie, we should use those characters that are plausible and if you don't want to use Chewy, then so be it. If you want to use Han Bespin (because of the stats...just an example), then we should be able to do so. Just cuz Wizards named it something else to pump out a new figure, shouldn't keep us from using a "Han" or some sort.
That being said, I don't think that any 'Admirals' should be present for the Empire's ground forces. Piett, Ozzel, etc. were *always* on the Star Destroyers. In case, we can use V-Set, I think the Elite E-Web is too powerful for this scenario -- they weren't that good in the movie. lol Just as I don't think any other Jedi, besides Luke, should be allowed either.
Just so the Empire isn't moving mouse droids around -- which would be impossible, how about we increase the cost of any 'commander/officer' by 2 points and give them all 'relay orders' just like if a Squib Trader had handed them out? For the R7s, the Imperials could use Raxus Prime proxys that would open doors, not override, just blow 'em like a Mando Demo.
Thoughts?

Wookieeapedia lists the commanders at BoH. check it out. Veers and Reekian are listed. thought we agreed last month to use mouse droids a plenty and R droids as needed. V-sets are allowed. we don't need to picky about which Han or Chewie, but any Han or Chewie.

I was not caught spying, I let you know I had seen your squad using a feature of Bloo. As a bonus 3. We'll show you our squad ... (in four days ) PS Your squad has the advantage over ours.

Okay; final answer!
capture the flag!
each of us builds TWO 200 pt squadS, any faction. NO SWAPPING characters.
we'll then roll dice to see what squad you pay, maybe not one you built. then determine partners(with the keys in a bowl, that'll be the only swapping allowed.LOFL)
map is Simulation Chamber, both side are equal.

Sorry, I've been swamped at work.
Ok, so I'm sure I have more than a few 200 point squads laying around. I'll have to give Kreg 2 of my squads to add to the bowl since he does not have access to his minis.
For those 200 point squads, typical squad building rules with vsets?
Are you bringing the map?

Actually this refers to the new SWM format that will be played launched at FrostyCon. Players will prepare a competitive 200 pt squad and will randomly pick from a hat what squad they will play. Hence... Face Your Destiny.
