And for what it's worth, I am really hoping to see future SpecOps characters, too. I already have lots of ideas for both non-Unique and Unique characters from SpecOps.

With no boosts, they're already on par with an ERC+Crix. Hopefully any SpecOps commanders that might come along aren't overpowered.

An ERC is MUCH more versatile than the SpecForce Infiltrator They have a higher damage ceiling when paired with Crix (ERC + Crix can do 60 damage at the top of the round, Infiltrator can do 40). The ERC also has Grenades, Ion Gun +20 (enough to kill everyone's favorite Republic Astromech Droid, whether it's activated or not), and Override, which is one of the most powerful single abilities in the whole game. Plus the ERC has 10 more HP, getting him to that magical 50 HP which is much more survivable (the jump from 40 to 50 HP is probably the most significant in the game, although an argument could be made for the jump from 80 to 90 HP being more important). Twin Attack instead of Double+Ambush also means the ERC can move and attack something twice regardless of whether it's activated or not.

The Infiltrator certainly has some very cool things that set it apart. Double with Ambush means it can move and attack something with Cunning twice, or not move and attack 2 separate things even without cunning, which makes it better at cutting through swarms than the ERC (although the ERC does have Grenades...), and it also has slightly better Attack and Defense stats. Master Slicer, of course, opens up whole new strategies, but it's a difficult ability to get off with a character with so few hit points (if you're moving through a closed door, you're probably separating yourself from the rest of your squad, making you an easy target). The biggest advantage that the Infiltrator has over the ERC is that it can be a tertiary Cunning threat without having to pay for a commander.

I love the Infiltrator, but I think that if I were to build a Rebel squad right now (even knowing everything in Vengeance) to go to a big tournament, I'd take the ERC with Crix almost every time. More damage, more survivability, more versatility. SpecForce is going to need a commander or two before they can be a subfaction on par with Rebel Commandos.

Well I see nobody has posted the preview yet so I shall get the ball rolling! From SHNN, 12/1

Set number 27, Rebel.

SpecForce Infiltrator. Cost 15

Hp 40
Def 18
Att 9
Dam 10

Special Abilities:
Double attack
Ambush
Cunning attack
Stealth
Master slicer: replaces attacks, this turn this character may ignore doors while moving.

Me like! ThumbsUp

Ha, ok, somebody seriously needs to start going behind me and making sure I'm giving you guys the right stats. This was the original version of the Infiltrator, but not the final version. Unsure I was reading the stats from the compiled stats thread, but the Infiltrator had been updated while the compiled stats thread hadn't. Sorry guys! That's what I get for not going straight to the thread. Here are the final stats:

SpecForce Infiltrator
Cost 15

HP 30
DEF 17
ATK +8
DAM 10

Special Abilities
Ambush [Can move and then make all its attacks against 1 enemy who has not activated this round]
Cloaked [If this character has cover, it cannot be targeted by nonadjacent enemies]
Cunning Attack [+4 Attack and +10 Damage against an enemy who has not activated this round]
Double Attack [On its turn, this character can make 1 extra attack instead of moving]
Master Slicer [Replaces attacks: This turn, this character can ignore doors while moving]

"Firepower is no replacement for surprise"

So -10 HP, -1 Def, -1 Attack, but Cloaked instead of Stealth now. To try to make up for my mistake, I gave you the flavor text also. Do some research into SpecForce and you might be able to use the flavor text to deduce another mini from this set. Wink

Sorry again!

I like that version a lot better. Mainly, I thought the original raw stats were too high for 15 cost. (IG-86 and TBSV are the only non-melee characters under cost 20 with stats as high as the Infiltrators original stats - and they're cost 17 and 18.) I'd have voted for 40-16-7, but 30-17-8 works just as well. Upgrading Stealth to Cloaked works for me, too. Bravo!

Also nope, less close.

It's a non-unique mini.

I just like Wookiees. A more reasonable guess would have been:

"Surprise is no replacement for firepower." - Heavy Weapons Specialist

That WOULD be a more reasonable guess, wouldn't it. Cool

Other reasonable guess: RecMin: Wookiee Warrior TFU?

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS.

This is exactly what the Vsets should be about. It gives the Vong something they desperately need in door control. It gives them something very useful in Reinforcements. And it breathes new life into TWO old pieces. Glad to see Rapport 2... shouldn't be afraid to use higher-numbered Rapport. If a piece is overcosted, use Rapport to bring it down to whatever it should be to be in line with the current meta. Nice that the Warriors fit into cost 20, too, which was clearly by design. It also makes Scouts useful again - they had been pretty much outdated by the Workers.

Awesome stats! This guy will be very useful and finally you can make a completely Vong squad and win. I love how you can either bring in 2 scout and 2 workers, 5 workers, 1 Jedi hunter or 1 Preatorite Vong Warrior. So many options...I love it!

Wow. Just wow. This guy rocks my world. Permanent door removal. That is seriously powerful stuff. While I worry about it being granted to grunts, I guess this has been play tested to death to make sure it is not broken. I will definitely be giving this a whirl.

Hrm... i thought this would be a good small base swap option, but i don't think panaka can swap non-mediums. Not really sure where these guys fit in except as an anti-mouse droid piece.
