Hrm... i thought this would be a good small base swap option, but i don't think panaka can swap non-mediums. Not really sure where these guys fit in except as an anti-mouse droid piece.

They can kill noble walls as well. This will help give republic a much needed way to get around mouse walls and noble walls. Good piece I like it.

Is he stronger than Roron Corobb, who doesn't really see a whole lot of play? His force power has a bigger range and he's cheaper, but he misses out by not being swappable. Without testing him, it feels like you'd probably have to sacrifice him and R2 to get a decent Force Burst off. I'm interested to hear from people who have actually tried him though.

From playtesting we found they are pretty good in a swarm. Evade helps them get close and with general skywalker they get up to 40 damage swings.

Decent Ideas ive seen

Uggie boss swarms with burst to set off uggie demos
Flobi + tbsv swarm with these guys
General skywalker swarm
Filler in Qui JT squads
they also make great mon mothma reserves

Yep, they're cheap enough that you can relatively easily get 4-5 of them in a squad along with lots of other good stuff. I don't expect that they're top-tier meta changing pieces, but they definitely have their uses and are pretty fun to play. In playtesting I lost against a squad with General Skywalker, 2 Wookiee Jedi, and a bunch of these guys.

Not to bring attention to a custom but, when I saw the Ug Jedi, all I could think of is this:

yeah the TBSV + flobi was one of the best combos for these guys. also for 200 pt games you can add in Gen SKy and a few of these guys with flobi and the TBSV and the rest of your fodder. IT makes for a great squad.

I read that there will be some neat prize support at a certain upcoming tournament.

Just sayin' - in case anyone is curious. Wink

side note: it appears that the V-3 set lists might need a little updating to reflect some recent previews/spoilers. For instance, the Uggie Jedi is #20, so the current faction placement is off.

I tried using Ponda Baba as an alternate to the human Bodyguard. He was in a squad with Hondo Onaka, so had a bit of accurate. Unfortunately I didn't have enough damage output Sad

I think he has some massive potential though.

I would charge you for the usage of "Yuss!"... only I'm facing a law suit from the person I lifted it from (interstingly, they're facing the same suit from the person they lifted it from... I'm breaking the cycle!)

Oh wow, is homicidal surgery automatic damage when targeting an enemy? Looks like the save is only for allies

Dr. Evazan + Captain Tarpals + GOWK = Auto 60 damage to living enemies, plus a fairly reliable heal of 60 off GOWK when needed (with Mettle rerolls so you only fail on a 1).

Evazan will have a big target on his head!

Ya know, he is wanted on 12 systems :)

The Doc is pretty good, neat little filler tricks for a lot of squads.

Ponda is the next link in the Bodyguard chain after the Gamorrean BG. There's the 10 point Twilek BG with 30 HP (probably the worst overall, but has the distinct advantage of being able to bring 2 in with Lobot), the Human BG with 40 HP at 11 points (just 1 more point gives you 10 more HP and a shooter to either ping scrubs or combine fire. The standard BG), the 13 point Gamorrean BG with 50 HP (2 more points for 10 more HP and he gains melee, but does 10 more damage when you can get it, and the jump from 40 to 50 HP is a pretty big deal). Now for 15 points you get a 60 HP Bodyguard in Ponda. For 2 points you get the extra 10 HP, he loses melee and goes to 10 damage, but gains Bounty Hunter so he can get damage in on uniques more often, Rapport for Dr. E., and Pirate so he can either use accurate shot to take out scrubs or potentially benefit from a future Pirate CE. He also gains Unique, though, which is another small disadvantage.

Speaking of bodyguards, does anyne use the Mistryl Shadow guard? I know someone used the Houjix at Gencon/a regional, which inspired me to try and incorporate him into builds. But does anyone else use many of the other boyguards?

I tend to use houjix in a few builds, because he is large based with alot of hp and can bodyguard many more. I also use Chewy rebel hero and Ferris olin in rebel faction if i need a bodyguard
