I see many ideas, abilities, characters, etc. that I know for a fact will not be in set 8. A lot of you are gonna be disappointed.

But then again you might feel better to know that many will be in set 7. ThumbsUp

A Shado Vao and Wolf Sazen that have rapports for their WotC versions to make them in line with the current structure.

You know what I would like to see in V-set 8? R2-D2 and C-3PO. They need some good versions, Period. Other than Doombot they really don't get much playtime IMO and the New Republic is just flat out lacking the duo of comedy.
Here is what I suggest

Droid (Immune to critical hits; not subject to commander effects)
Diplomat (If an attacker has line of sight to any enemies without Diplomat, this character is not a legal target and does not count as the nearest enemy, even if adjacent)
Distraction (Suppresses adjacent enemy commander effects)
Relay Orders (Each allied commander can count distance from this character as well as from itself for the purpose of commander effects)

Translator (Allies with 6 squares are effected be commander effects regardless of Species limitations.)

Camaraderie (An ally whose name contains R2-D2 gains Repair 30)
Affinity (May be in a Republic or New Republic squad)
Affinity (A character whose name contains R2-D2 may be in your squad regardless of faction)

"I'm fluent in over six million forms of communication"

Distraction fits him since he can be really annoying, Relay Orders seems like a no brainer to me. Affinity for artoo allows for R2-D2, Astromech Droid to go into the Rebel and New Republic factions, I don't think that is overpowered since it will cost you 30 points of pure tech to get that combo. Translator fits his function as a protocol droid translating those six million forms of communication. I haven't found any overpowered combos with Translator yet and I don't think I will.
What do you guys think? Is he V-set materiel?

More Vong (I don't have many suggestions, I'll leave that to you guys), Better versions NR Jedi (Cilghal, Telki, I liked Saba though), and more Legacy characters (Ania Solo, Tra'saa, Maybe Allana Solo even?). Oh and tanks, lots of tanks (Why should the Imperials be the only ones?). Other big artillery pieces would be cool.

You could put it on a NR Luke or on a high-cost Fringe piece that doesn't do much else. The Baran Do Sages spent a lot of time in meditation, for example. Cost it high enough that it makes no sense to use it in a 200 point game, but would be a good silver bullet in a 500 pt game. This might do it:

Master of the Baran Do Order - Fringe
Cost: 28
HP: 40
Def: 18
Atk: 8
Dmg: 10

Special Abilities:
Melee Attack

Force Powers:
Force 4
Force Cloak
Master Meditation [Force 2, replaces turn: For the rest of the skirmish, enemy Force powers that contain Meditation cost 1 more Force.]


Probably pretty useless at 200, but may be worth including at 500, where Bastila is really powerful.

(thereisnotry suggested also making it a Bodyguard so it's not useless if Mediation isn't present on the other side.)

Some thoughts on how Abeloth should work...

* Epic only - probably a full 200 points.
* Fringe
* For Epic 500, everyone on her squad gets consumed by Abeloth somehow. Perhaps you give all the rest of your squad (except the Abeloth piece) to an opponent to start (like Han in Carbonite). The opponent treats your characters like they are on their squad, taking turns as normal, but at the beginning of each of their activations, you roll a save. If you make it, you get your character back and can start using them as normal.
* Whenever anyone on the squad is defeated, it hurts everyone on the squad somehow. (Since they're all Abeloth.)

Ewok handler. Its time we started blowing up Ewok. How bout instead of a ce its a special ability that grants self destruct to one Ewok and replaces turn. Or even a self destruct like ability that blows them up when they become adjacent to an enemy.

Some of the Jedi council members from Ep I, Yarael Poof, Oppo Rancisis, Yaddle etc. a revamped depa billaba and even piell. Tyvokka as well and possibly Coleman kcaj. A gorog from force unleashed 2 would be super cool, but I don't think that would be possible because it would have to be colossal and not everyone has a spare AT-AT lying around.

In addition, they should have their trademark abilities, Flamusfracta and like a Jedi mind trick 4 type thing for poof, malacia and some type of meditation for rancisis, force light and morchiro for Yaddle and so on.

Commander Effect:
Allies get +4 Defense against enemies with a printed cost less than 1/2 of the ally's printed cost.

(Commander Effect so that it does not stack with GOWK.)

Defused: While all allies have Melee Attack or printed Damage of 0, enemies lose Self-Destruct.

(Glossary to clarify that allies with no printed Damage value count as having Damage 0.)

5 out of 9 in set 7. Wow.

Sebulba's probably the remaining unrepresented character with the largest role in any movie. He's also thuggish enough (and has an obvious RM) that he could be done as a decent combatant if he's costed right (10pts or so).

While most famous as a podracer (Ground Pilot), he'd clearly be a saboteur of sorts. He posted a bounty on a fellow racer. He owned slaves. He wasn't afraid of a bar fight. He purchased plenty of weapons to mount on his podracer - no doubt he had personal weapons, too.
