Okay let's try this again. Here's what new vehicles i'd really like to see:

AT-TE (colossal) - A really iconic Clone Wars vehicle. The republic's equivalent of the AT-AT.

Fambaa with Shield Generator (colossal) - Because it would make the battle of Naboo much more fun.

AAT (huge/colossal) - Not that the separatists need even more vehicles, but seriously this one is long overdue.

Chewie's AT-ST (huge) - The classic moment from RotJ deserves it's own mini. And it's an easy custom, just put the top half of a wookiee soldier on an AT-ST and you're done.

AT-PT (large) - Just because i think it's one of the coolest vehicles we don't have yet.

..and i'm supporting the idea of new versions of old crappy vehicles. I know we just got the Zann Consortium Underboss, and he's very useful. But i'm not a big fan of commanders that you have to include to make other pieces even playable. Not when we're talking vehicles/huges at least.

Also, another idea would be to include tiles instead of using RMs for the big ones. Or does that bring up that whole copyright issue again?

I'll keep it short and simple.

AAT - Armored Assault Tank

AT-TE - All Terrain Tactical Enforcer

TX-130 - Fighter Tank (Imperial, Republic, or Rebel faction. It appears within all of them more or less.)

Thats all I'd like to see as far as Epic vehicles I suppose. Anything else would be better off as a regular set piece.

The problem with adding vehicles is the shear size of anything fun (speeders are small) and what proxy to use. Flying vehicles are a problem on a regulation map, so unless your running an epic scenarion with 6 or more maps, they're impractical. So, what vehicles are available and small.

There are lots of models out there, the community just has to decide what it wants. The first two choices in my opinion are the easiest.

The Republic TX-130 is easily had in toy stores today (Transformers) for a reasonable price and close enough to scale. Ditto the ATT; several sources and close enough to scale. These tow should be no-brainers.

Past these two it gets more complicated as to what proxy vehicles are available. AT-TE's, and various speeders are out there but not necessarily cheap. Starships of various types are out there (Falcon, Slave I, fighters, shuttles, etc) but impractical on a regulation map except as objectives.

If you're going to say just pic a vehicle, there's all kinds of possibilities

AT-PT (I actually have 2 from DeAgostini)
Jabba's Sail Barge
Republic Juggernaut

But after the TX-130 and the ATT it's just a flip of the coin; those two are the easiest to get and close enough in size to be usable on a reg map.

I think a MT-AT (mountain terrain attack vehicle would be
cool. Also, FIDO, both from champions of the force

CIS- AAT would be awesome as a counter to the AT-AT

Although I'd like to see new usable cards for the vehicles we have first.ThumpUp

At-te could be payable because it should have wall climber like in the cgi movie.

I'd love to see more troop cart, and maybe an sa that grants bonuses to the vehicle if a pilot is removed from play with troop cart... Bonuses to attack or defense, special attacks, etc.

The Revell snap tite models of the Laat is pretty good. Not quite the right scale, a little small, but works. Their AT-TE is very undersized, but works well with the maps. You need to put it on a base other than the one it comes with, though.

If someone has the skill to make tiles for the vehicles that would be pretty cool. Something we can print out and use with ease.

Kinda like the tiles from the old ultimate missions books. All that we would need to worry about is the size of some vehicles. A few might be lengthwise like the AT-AT rather than something like a 4x4 or 5x5 which would be extensions of a huge scale.

p.s. I would love the AT-PT but thats the kind of vehicle I was referring when I said it doesn't feel epic. Pretty much just a junky AT-ST lol. But one of those would be great in any format.

Exactly ThumbsUp

I didn't think the vehicles had to be epic as well. If that's the case, i agree that the AT-PT is not very apropriate. But it would be cool to have a card to use with my new DeAgostini models. They fit perfectly on a large base.

"Cough" Shameless Plug "Cough"

You, sir, have obviously never looked at my custom card thread; I made a AT-PT card for my own DeAgostini AT-PT. They're as close to the right scale as anything else WOTC made.

But I Digress. Do we really want to go the Tile route? Some readily available vehicles are close enough to scale as to be usable. Anything else, well, heck, lets go for a full sized Ion Cannon or Separatist Landing Ship. Why think small if we're going epic BigGrin

i remember posting specifically about the AT-PT on your thread lol.

Some vehicles are too big for existing minis. But the tiles are just a fun proxy if nothing else.

@Dime ... thank you for the kind words on the AT-PT ThumpUp

Since we're on the subject, while I don't Have the TX-130, I have several ATT's and for those who want to see them

The ATT in the pic is a radio control version with the lines cut (don't remember the make, but it's the same size as the ATT Revell model, which is 7.75" (the AT-TE is 8.75" for references sake.) I don't have the Transformer TX-130 which is what's in the pic but someone can extrapolate it's length.

Let the discussion begin .....

Howdy! This is a great thread, and theres heaps of ideas. BigGrin
Over on the custom thread, i linked (in the article here http://yqs243-site0001.maxesp.net/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10106) a few papercraft models that can be used as 'true scale' to minis proxies. Most are simple to make, other require a bit of practice, but I think they could be of use to the demonstrators at Gencon, etc.

I'd like to see a custom;
LAAT/i
CR40 Dropship
V19
Slave 1
Jedi Starfighter
Droid Starfighter (not the puny WotC one, but a flying one...)
Droid Gunship
maybe a Bwing or an Xwing

I think the inclusion of vehicles could follow FFG's lead and make a dogfight style game: 1 or 2 fighters v 1 or 2 enemies. That would be iconic and fun, and limit the playspace required whilst conveying a cinematic feel. a 4x6 table can hold about 12 ships a side (class 3 or lower) so it can be quite taxing to have a 'fullscale' space battle...

I just received the new Revell AAT models I ordered. They are pretty cool. Looks to be a better scale than the Transformers model (but I still use those as well).

A few thoughts on including new vehicles, how to make them like the vehicles they are, including some semblance of the firepower they are supposed to have without overpowering them. The cannons should have a forward firing arc only. I believe each vehicle should have very limited access to commander CE's boosting them.

i.e.: Closed Com Link: At the beginning of the round, pick one allied CE that would affect this character. This character may not benefit from any other commander effect this round.

AAT - Has dual forward facing guns, as well as the cannon. Should have mobile/greater mobile, as they moved when firing. Normal speed should fit, DR, Rigid.

TX-130: Two cannons and one gun turret. These were supposed to be very fast. Greater mobile, DR, Rigid

LAAT: Flight, Greater Mobile, Missles, Accurate. Multiple gun turrets, so maybe triple???? Not sure on that. No DR, they seem they should be a bit more fragile than tanks. Troop Transport ability. 8 small/medium, or 2 large (or 12 and 3?) Same restrictions/benefits, penalties as the Skiff.

AT-TE: Huge cannon, very slow, 6 gun turrets. Maybe Greater Mobile with a speed of 4. The rear turretscould have a feature like this:

Aft Facing Gunners: Once per turn. Any enemy character that ends it's movement behind this character is subject to two immediate attacks. These gunners may not attack at any other time.

This would be kinda cool, defend against strafe attacks, and make the rear turrets not just for decoration. Definite DR.

I also think that there never should be a way to increase the amount of attacks of the big gun on any of these, through double, twin, extra, anything. And duh, all have mounted weapon and stable footing.

It would also be nice if the cards had the picture of the actual vehicle instead of the RM. It just seems it would take away from a TX-130 to have a Rebel Troop Cart on the card.
