Bob Chizo- Thanks for joining this glorious battle with us!. You Rebel Scum

Cerous- I am most definitely fine with being the Imperials. And I look forward to crushing your little rebellion!

Darph Nader- Awesome, whenever you guys decide just post who is on what side so we can keep track of who is where, if you would be so kind.

WannabeMexican- If you have trouble finding someone we have extra people in our playgroup who could probably play you on vassal if you want to use that as a last resort? Some of them don't have bloo milk accounts, so if you need one just let me know.

I would love to play but I don't have an opponent. let me know if anyone wants to partner up. I have vassal and my work schedule is pretty flexible. i have more Imperial pieces than rebels but I am willing to be any faction as long as people are ok with proxies, if we do vassal it doesn't matter anyway.

If this works out well I hope we do other era campaigns as well

Knappskirata- the supreme commanders ( you and i as of now)
Will just either assign another map, or just make exceptions.
No one will be left out for lack of availability

This is great. After the first couple days, I was afraid it was just going to be 3 per side - not as 'epic' as I had in mind. I think 8 per side gets to that epic feel, though. It could go up to 15 or 20 per side and still work. More people does put a bigger burden on the Supreme Commanders, though. I don't think we'll reach 15 per side, but we should probably say 15 per side is the max.

Each round, one of the Supreme Commanders will decide where all of the battles take place. He'll assign one map to each person in his faction, and that person plays their opponent on that map. It's up to the Supreme Commander to make sure he doesn't give someone a map that they don't have access to.

The rules are mostly written now. They'll be posted within the next day or two, and the official launch will probably be in a week or so. Are people ready to get started, or are you think you'll want to try to recruit for longer than that?

I think 15.is a good number, tho i don't think there will be that many either. I think a good idea time to start would be next week. Maybe the middle? Wednesday perhaps? That would give you and iample time to set everything up

This will be spelled out more clearly in the rules, but here's the regular calendar:

Rounds will be 2 weeks long (to give everyone a chance to get their game in).

Round will begin on a Tuesday - one Supreme Commander will announce all of the maps for the round and who is on what map. In the first round, the Imperial SC selects all the maps. Second round, the Rebel SC selects all the maps, etc.

By that Friday, both Supreme Commanders will tell their factions which Restricted/Unique pieces they get. That gives the players eleven days (including two full weekends) to get their games played and the results posted.

That might sound like a long time for one round, but I'd rather have as many games played as possible, and experience with Vassal leagues tells me that a one week deadline would result in too many unplayed games. Plus, everybody will care about everyone else's games, so during the "downtime" between games you can still root for the other players on your side.

We could start this Tuesday if the Supreme Commanders are ready and you think we'll have all the sign ups done by then.

knappskirata and I talked and I will be his imp partner instead of his bro. I forget what maps he has but I have access to ruined cristophsis, freight transit station, death star, and ewok village. He would make a good supreme commander for the rebels.

we/I have pretty much every map we/I can think of, including:
WotC
jedi cartographer's
map maker(Chris West)
promo/prize support maps
and even some custom maps printed on vinyl (we bought at GC in '08 from another SWM player)

I want to be Rebels, so I have a chance to play KazdunDrool
http://www.bloomilk.com/Custom/5712/kazdun-paratus--driod-master

and it fit my "question authority" lifestyle Wink

I've got just about every map except Anchorhead (hopefully soon) so we're covered.

Is there a way that you can surrender so that your side doesn't lose your uniques?

Not illegal ones - but the only illegal ones are the Hoth plains and the blank ones. It will include all of the maps on the Restricted, Standard, and Open lists, though. Some unrated maps will also be included as options - in particular some of the newer, unrated maps from MapMaker. If you have other maps you want included let me know. Someone said Ewok Village, for example. (Unless they meant the Endor Bunker.)

No, but...

* First, keep in mind that if a Unique is defeated, only that version of the character is defeated. Since it's only 6 rounds long, there will always be another version of Luke available, for example. It would hurt to lose Luke Rebel Commando, but there's still Hoth Pilot Unleashed, etc.

* We're planning to do standard 200 point games including gambit, so if someone reaches 200 points (including gambit) without defeating a Unique, the Unique survives. If you're behind on points but manage to lock a Unique in a room, the Unique will survive. If time runs out, and the Unique is still alive, they survive. Games are 60 minutes in person. Vassal has a longer time limit - whatever was used for the Vassal regional. 75 or 90 minutes, I think.
