I already said that apparently I was wrong about the BHC game, Weeks must have been telling me about a different game or something and I got mixed up. I thought that would close that, but if not, sorry I was mistaken. Even I have been known to make mistakes... From time to time.... (hooray movie reference!)
Everything else in my post I stand by, though.

Do you stand by me saying you that you said Staele wasn't a good piece.... Even tho I put a little smiley emoticon and a j/k right after it? Or do you stand by that remark that I misquoted you?

All this should have been thru PMs (or BMs...whatever you want to call them).
It's obviously been a couple miscommunications.
If all parties can agree to get along (apologizing thru PMs and whatnot), then... Just clean up the first remark (smiley & j/k and all)...delete every post after that (including this one)...and let's move on with any real discussion. Please.

Speaking of original discussions, I'd like to chip in my predictions on whats happening right now OR Satele Shan/Pilots are a really great squad with freaky movement and potential for damage output. I think that in the right hands, they'll be good enough to at least win a regional or so. Sith Are out. The only really strong sqaud that they had going for them was Kaan/Jaq/Revan and the abundance of droids that was seen at Minis Mania makes them unviable. I don't think they'll see much showing anywhere (until the next v-set that is) Separatists They've gained a couple of nasty tricks in Grevious of Hypori and the BX Spotter. Take this new invulnerability to ranged fire and add it to what they already have going for them (Geonosians, IG-86, Lancer, Sidious) and i'd say they are the most powerful faction in the meta right now. Different combinations of these peices are going to be hard to stop and i think they're in to win a regional or three. The other thing there is the new IG-88 squads with 2 IGs, and HK-47. These are brutal, and can be fitted into a bunch of factions (but are most suited to seps imo). They can rip apart any squad that isn't prepared for what they do, and probably most squads that are prepared. Great design on that btw, hopefully they'll win at least one regional, maybe more. Republic This is probably the biggest loss of the new v-sets. Mace struggles against a lot of the squads that are dominant now. He can't beat droids, not easily at least. He can't well beat naboo, poggle bombs, imperial swap squads. Heck, he can't even beat OR anymore because the new Satele will bodyguard his strike! As well as that, the meta seems to be shifting away from the melee peices that Mace was really strong against, and into high attack ranged peices (cad, IG-88, BXs) which can overcome his extra defense from GOWK. For the time being at least, mace is not longer a Tier one squad. Naboo squads still have a lot of punch still in them but i think most factions are a little better equipped to handle them now. Equally there is a lot of disruptive going around now with HK-47 and Mandalore the Vindicated, so naboo cannot so easily close in for the kill. I'd say naboo still have a shot at winning a regional but they aren't quite the powerhouse that they were before. Rebels: I really don't play rebels much but to my mind (and correct me if i'm wrong) there isn't much there to look at Imperials Cad/Arica seems to be the best squad out at the moment for imperials. But that squad is brutal, with high attack damage and a good capacity to clear out small fry. I think that the overall meta is shifting away from the strong melee squads that we saw before and back a little way into shooter based squads (albeit ones which have a capacity to hold their own in melee) Therefore things like stealth/swap which trump shooters will become increasingly popular, and I'd say Cad/Arica has it in them to win New Republic I might be wrong here, but i found dedicated new republic squads are somewhat slipping off the edge of the radar when it comes to the competitive meta. The likes of Corran Horn squads or Solo Charges are still powerful and might show up once or twice, but i don't think there'll be any big wins for them Mandalorians The design folks have done a great job trying to lift this faction out of the pits of irrelevance, and i think they are starting to come into their own with the new Mandalore. They aren't quite there yet though, as mandalore is still relying mainly on scouts (imo) as backup for him, and they don't quite have the mettle to suit his playing style. They won't show up much yet, but i eagerly await the next v-set to see what other tricks they might get Yuuzhan Vong This faction didn't get much out of the new v-set and are still in the Tier 2 position as a faction. That's my 2 cents.

Oh, for heaven's sake. We just had 12+ months of political conniving (mostly) end yesterday in the States. Do we have to have more, in a lesser extent, flare up here over a discussion of tiny plastic toys?

@minitank
very good analysis IMO.
I don't think you give rebels and NR a fair shake but that might be because you don't play them that much. Both have pretty cheap levitate which is an excellent movement breaker (its essentially a must for both factions IMO) and both have Dodonna which is very good for equalizing activations with Seps and Imps.
Mainly people have fallen off them because OR is a bad match up but they both should be able to out last the ABM and out activate the OR so that the OR squad becomes vulnerable. With large amounts of evade in both factions they are still competitive. The ERC is a very effective piece in this droid heavy atmosphere and the cheap/accessible disruptive of both factions allow them to take the sting out of poggle bombs and swap CE's.
The build model for both hasn't changed much, high activations, levitate, dodonna and cheap threats. NR leans on more mid cost threats whereas no one does cheap power like the rebels.

Excellent mock up gentlemen. Grievous + lancer is pretty good for seps. I think I could have done just well or better by subing in Zam over grievous. I think drones/San hill/pawn lancer is a great base. Add in any solid attacker and that squad will work.

I think Red Squadron Aces are strong; they're not as vulnerable to Disruptive as the Naboo Pilots are, since they can still put out 60 damage without CEs. I'm interested in how things will shake out - on one hand powerful shooter squads are looking popular, but on the other hand there's a strong new anti-shooter piece in the meta. Ganner/Mara might be back in if Mace is out and disruptive is in? I'd be interested in Yobuck too, but the Mandalore the Vindicated/Training Sergeant combo will make life difficult for him.

There is also an entire set to come out between now and Regional season. So no telling what will change. Meta could shift to anything!

There's one in New York soon I think. Nothing major going on until after x-Mas I think.

FrostyCon 2013 will be held again in Feb and like last year we'll have a fully sanctioned 200 with all the trimmings. We had a very good turnout both days and I hope we'll see even more this year.
