It's because the underlying mechanism that handles it in the squadbuilder is the same whether it is the SA or via CE. There is also a reverse mechanism for Kota's Affinity, Rival and such.

I just noticed that Mandalore the Lesser is letting Mando commanders in Sith Squads, but his CE only allows Followers.

I just did a Character search for Mandalorian Commanders and Kelborn came up.

Looks good! Haha maybe BlooMilk also keeps thinking he has a Commander Effect, I always forget all the stuff he does are in his SAs. I probably wouldn't have even noticed if not for the little shield icon
