Other than that one bad experience with huge sets, I actually pull great things from it when I do buy it.
Good things from Bounty Hunters: Nym
Han Solo, Smuggler
Utapaun on Dactillion
4-LOM
and I almost got a Boba and Krayt dragon X[

Good things from Force Unleashed:
Master Kota
Luke's Snowspeeder
Loda
Maris Brood
PROXY

Since I what I listed is about as many packs as I've bought, I somehow seem to have good luck in pulling stuff in only huge sets. So if they get rid of huge sets, I'll lose all my good pulls.

Huge sets have /always/ sold more poorly than regular.

Battle Packs, on the other hand, sell rather well.

They may have decided that the scenario packs may make a better way to sell huge models.

I for one would pay well for one with, say, two AATs and a Gungan mastiphant with shield generator....

And it was because of that same friend that I chose the wrong Bounty Hunters pack out of two choices. Following his suggestion instead of my instinct, I chose a pack and got 4-LOM and...I don't even remember. I probably traded the huge on the same day. The kid who bought the pack I didn't pulled a Boba Fett Bounty Hunter and a Young Krayt Dragon.Crying Cursing

Always, always go with your first instinct.....it is usually the right choice!

I learned that lesson the hard way that day.

I've noticed a couple of reasons why people don't like huges: they're expensive to get (in packs, at least), they usually suck, and the good ones are very hard to get. In a closed-pack TFU tournament, I have seen 5 players open packs and pull a pair of turrets, a potato-spider, and two TIE Crawlers. Plus, Huges eat up a ton of room in your collection boxes, so, unlike stormies, who you can just throw into a big fodder bin and be gone with, you either have to devote a large part of the room in your box to hauling around 4 Telosian Tank Droids or trade them off.

I think that Wizards should a. make some more competitive Huges that are actually worth paying for and b. make battle packs for Huges so that we don't have a ton of them just laying around.

Well in total, I've pulled:

Huge
Knobby Spider (x2)
Tie Crawler
Golan Arms
Basilisk Droid
Rebel Snowspeeder

and to go with them:

Rare / Very Rare
Kazdan Paratus
Master Kota
Proxy
Wedge, Red Two
Boba Fett, Bounty Hunter
Dengar, Bounty Hunter

So I pulled Boba, which is a win in any column, but out of 6 attempts I have yet to pull a Rare or Very Rare huge piece. Just out of spite, I order a Universe Booster today online. I'm hoping for an AT-ST or a Rancor, but I'll probably get the Flash Speeder. Seriously, if its the Flash Speeder, it free to whoever wants it. Cursing I'll post what I get when the delivery arrives.

I think it's sad that the majority of Huges aren't very playable. I think maybe if they did them in Exclusive battle packs it would be best. Like everyone else has said, huge sets don't sell very well, but the battle packs do pretty good. They should stick to that formula. I'd hate to see huges go away forever. They're great for scenerio type play (& RPG stuff). I'd love to see a Yuuzhan Vong Yammosk (War Coordinator)... they'd have to be a huge, and would work perfectly for a first NR themed battle pack...
Someone mentioned making larger than huge's, but smaller than Colossal. The D&D minis did that w/thier gargantuan dragons, and I bought every single one of them. I'd love to see some StarWars minis in the same scale. I don't care if it's DCI legal or not... I'd want them for collecting purposes.

In my LGS we had a chat about how cool it looks whenever someone plays huges. You just walk by and if you see a felcor and an at-st its looks impressive. So when I started doing wednesday non-dci events I came up with the idea of doing 200 pt format that requires each squad to use atleast 90 points of huges. It has been one of the groups favorite fun formats. We now do it once every 2 months. Actually gives people an excuse to break out some random huges.

Thats not the case. We go through tons of packs for prizes so I get to see alot opened. The last 3 felcors opened had juno eclipse, 2-1b and VAR as the normal rare.

Although if I remember right my prize at the 2nd tfu sealed I did, I got 2nd place and my pack was VAU and felcor.

Np, its not really that odd to get a VR with a VR huge. It's like 33% odds if you already know its got a felcor in it. If new players didn't better at my venue they might think that aurra sing, JH comes in every box of A+E because our last 5-6 cases have had the VR aurra sing JH in it.

Every heavy piece in A+E is a very rare though : )
