gotta go with mandos. Always been my favorite even before the v sets. Just always kind of loved the flavor of it all. That and i always prefered the pieces like the basilisk, Super commandos and the gunslingers even though the scouts are more versatile.

You're not kidding Kez, that is a tough question. I went Vong but I just as easily could have gone Sith or NR. Heck, I probably play Republic as much as anything else too.

Oh this is so hard! For me, it's a very close call between Vong, Rebels, and New Republic. I'm going to have to go with New Republic though because I've enjoyed playing them, and have had most of my victories with them I think. My Kota and Kazdan squads don't usually work for Rebel, and I have only just started playing Vong now that they have good V-set pieces.

Mandos all the way. There can be some pretty heavy mando squads that are really fun to run. I just like the expression on my opponents faces when wipe them out with double twin gma and they can't do a thing about it. Then when they do hit me, I get all my beskar'gam and evade saves.

Haha! That sounds like my group. Whatever squad I run they always try to counter it which is usually mandos. SWM is not just a game of strategy and tactics, but also of psychological warfare and that's where the fun is!

It isn't because they weren't good before the V-sets, it's just because my physical collection of Vong pieces is quite slim. Now with V-sets I can use them as a playable faction. I think I have in total about 20 Vong and none of them are Unique.

Well I have not voted yet because for me this is too separate questions. 1. favourite faction 2.best or easiest faction to use or built a team around.
See my favourite faction are in order New Republic Old Republic Vong
However all three of these factions are the most un-fun to play at the moment because they all are too reliant on 1 or 2 characters at the moment. However as more vsets come out hopefully this will change as you get more and more options. I think for now imperial is my favourite for squad building. However as our group randomize who we will play on the night all factions are played. Shame there is not a chose too chose any faction, in other words not bothered which faction as long as we get a game.
Out of curiosity does anyone other than our group have fringe as its own faction?

Do you mean you sometimes play games with Fringe-only squads, or you won't let people use Fringe characters in anything other than Fringe-only squads?

I hate to be the naysayer here, but compared to pretty much any other faction the pre-Vset Vong were awful, aside from Nom Bomb squads. At least the OR had a few good pieces (Mira, Atton, Jedi Battlemaster).

The discussion wasn't about that, but even so I never really found them that fun. You just have a huge disadvantage, with no real cool abilities to make up for it (this was pre Vsets).

Do you mean you sometimes play games with Fringe-only squads, or you won't let people use Fringe characters in anything other than Fringe-only squads? We have games that has a option of faction pure squads, in such games someone can be fringe only as there faction. This does not happen often but is there in our randomized games. Was just wondering if anyone else ever has fringe as a separate faction.

You could easily make it better by putting in a key faction-specific piece like R2 Astromech though.

Such a hard question and I regularly rotate through them, but as my namesake implies, Separatists hands down. Nothing like a swarm of twinning battle droids, Grievous light saber lawn mower, Destroyer Droids, or huge Separatist War Machines rolling down the battlefield. So excited for new machines micro set and love Sev'Rance Tann.
Close second is a tie between NR (Kyle!!! Love the new Jan) and Vong (So different from the normal sith/Jedi/robot/space soldier that Star Wars usually is, and this is reflected in the game, we need portable fire spotter troops haha)

I'll be interested to see how you make a fringe only squad a top level option - it's hard to imagine a squad that wouldn't be better with on of the cheap power pieces like Pellaeon, R2-D2 Astromech, or Dodonna.
