I see...
this is the most game'd version of me
, Its printed on an AT-AT sized, staggered activation card.
though like Luke or Han or Vader, there's about 24 different versions (one for each of the hours of a day, plus a few for the seasons and then one each for all denominational festive holidays). There's also some convention-only special figures, promo figures and league-kit repaints with alternate stat cards.
Kobayashimaru
Faction: Fringe
Cost: X (where X is a fraction of all unique figures in squad, ie 4 uniques, 1/4 of their combined cost)
HP:50/*
DEF:18/*
ATK:+4/*
DMG:10/*
Special Abilities
Unique (counts as: my real name, my work callsign, my many other identities on the webs...)
PROXY (my base stats are like PROXY's special emulation ability)
Dodge Paperwork: Any time this character would have to take on any additional workload, roll a d20: on an odd number, you immediately move 1 d20 distance towards the nearest airlock (if that move would put you in a pit, you ignore movement rules and voluntarily fail the save). on an even number, you begrudgingly accept the long nights and the additional paperwork (no effect... or overtime pay/holiday loading).
Evade.
Disruptive.
Speed 3.
Time Heals Old Wounds (I eventually get over past traumatic events and relationships... sorta like Regeneration, but lamer and more psychological. There'd be other versions of Kobayashimaru, that this ability would work with.)
Administer the Kobayashimaru: touch, replaces turn:
rolloff in a best of 5 d20s, the highest score wins (closest to 100): in the event of a tie, rock paper scissors lizards spock best of 5... characters such as James T Kirk completely ignore this ability (they don't believe in the no-win scenario). Winner gets to activate the effected character and take an immediate turn, any moves do not trigger attacks of opportunity, movement may be allowed into a pit...
Please Don't Freakin' Stab Me/Put That Implement Down: melee characters must target this character like with Draw Fire, but must also move away from Kobayashimaru the sqr rt of 1 d20roll of distance... (rounded to the nearest whole rational integer).
Old Before My Time: This character can't do half the stuff that other people its same age can... but it does have esoteric knowledge and can waffle real good. This means that it simultaneously counts as a diplomat and may ignore other diplomat abilities.
Custom-miser: like reserves 20, but rarer (so only on a 3 or 19).
Intermittent Bloomilk Web-Presence: This character may at any time during a game, be removed from play (with all status effects retained). Mark the square the character left. At any point in play before a game ends, which this character has left, the character may return to the square they left from, with the same status effects as when they left. If the game ends before this character decides/is able to return to play, they count as defeated. If this character fails to re-appear before the time limit expires in a timed match, then this character's squad is defeated and the game counts as a forfeit for scoring points.
Force Powers
Force Permanent 0 (this character may not gain or lose forcepoints ever, for any reason whatsoever)
(this character only uses force points from all other characters in their squad).
I Remember "The Greats"/Hall of Famers: All force in force pool; this character may suspend play for an indefinite period to make a presentation recalling/reciting all the great hall of famers and 'the greats' of the customising forum. If this "recall" exceeds the time limit for a timed match, then this player forfeits.
Stalemate!: an odd multiple greater than 3 of All Force Points in Force Pool: if opponent pays 3 or more force then negates;
the entire rules of the game are transposed into Chess, save 1 (so basically, all the pieces are transposed into a chess board, with leftovers replacing dead pawns etc...) If the opponent spends equal and opposite number of forcepoints from their total force pool, they win the game, save 11.
Flavor Text
Kobayashimaru thinks kobayashimaru knows more than kobayashimaru knows...
Kobayashimaru has 'a lot of city miles' and has been fortunate to have traveled far and wide, though this travel often kept Kobayashimaru away from the interests Kobayashimaru had.
or
Kobayashimaru is a collaborative ideas person.
Everyone has to take the Kobayashimaru sooner or later...
I went to town with this, and made a few OP powers.
Many reflect a caricature of a resemblance of me,
Administer the Kobayashimaru was a no-brainer.
Stalemate! was intended to be easy to cancel or avoid hence save 1. But it could be a real game changer...
As further disincentive to use it inspired by Internal Strife, Stalemate! also provides them the opportunity to instantly win the game if they have enough forcepoints in their total forcepool, making forcebattery squads that much more of a threat (especially where pieces allow all characters in a faction to have forcepoints).
Intermittent Bloomilk Presence represents those stretches of months at a time where I'm unable to hop on Bloomilk or even touch minis.
"I remember the greats/ I honor those who went before" is an ability to introduce others to the SWMinis history... and or to dodge a game you might be losing due to a min/max optimiser meta-powergamer.
There's of course the myriad other versions, like Party-Time Kobayashimaru ( hawaiian shirted happy schmoozer with loads of rapports) or
End OfFinancialYear Kobayashimaru, Young Kobayashimaru, Ultimate/Epic Kobayashimaru from the future, Scholastic/Tutoring Kobayashimaru... Vengeful Kobayashimaru and Kobayashimaru - burner of the midnight oil.
