YO I decided to a write up. here it is!
I was running a snowtrooper swarm, like this

round 1 vs Stuart Moore, he was running Luke and Leia on speeder squad, we player on his map jabbas palace
So he won map and chose his map jabbas palace, and I took inside. I rolled reserves first round, so i brought in 5 more snowtroopers, which took my acts to 38, and since he only had 10 with dodonna, I outactivated his by miles. i waited till he had finished moving. he moved forward wrong, as luke + leia weren't in crixs disruptive bubble, and first round, I slavered 2 snows and chased down luke + leia and shot them, then sent the sled in and shot them, then the imperial officer gave a snowtrooper another shot. although pellaeon wasn't close enough to make them force immune, he rolled pretty poorly, and luke and leia died first round. after his strafe was gone, my 25 troopers cleaned up in 3 rounds. i think better positioning could have saved luke+leia first round, but he could never take out enough troopers to stop them since i came from all directions. would only have stalled me a little while, and the end result wasn't going to change. 3 pts
Round 2 vs Paul Moore and his Sith Caedus Zannah squad, played on his map cantina
So i lost map roll again, he chose his map cantina. i set up in the side with the big room. outactived him by miles, so i waited for him to finish, and pretty much ran straight up the board on all sides. pellaeon up the middle, the sled and 2 snows got into the smaller room on the other side of gambit, also i killed an ugnaught. paul only moved caedus about 8 squares forward with the two force spirits, while the rest of his squad stayed outside by the door at the back with the door locked. i won initiative, he didnt aiing ti flow, and i ran a trooper to hit him for 30. he killed the trooper and moved into a bad position, i outactivated him again, then moved pellaeon to where my troopers could shoot from the bubble. killed caedus, then slavered my ugnaught up so he could blow the door next round. the troopers going up the side killed a couple of recruits. round 3, i blew the door, he moved verger into the force bubble. the sled flew and shot her, then a snowtrooper shot her, and she died, unable to use force spirit. moved pellaeon within range of Zannah, and i had about 15 shots with my troopers from the bubble. killed zannah eventually, along with Dr E, and lobot. round 4 the game was over, mopped up. very comfortable win, nothing Paul could do. 6 pts
Round 3 played Dave Moore, his Daala squad, on rancor pit.
I won map! i chose mine, and he let me choose side! stupid Aaron, took the wrong one... enabling him to shoot my troopers unactivated, while i could only shoot his activated ones. it was very straightforward, and would have been TOTALLY different game if i didnt choose that side. his troopers overran mine very easily, even with losing needa early, he rolled very well. i snatched a point, with daala shooting raxus's at the end. 7 pts
Round 4 against Mike Moore, his lancer squad on Cliffside citadel
he won map, i took inside. he set up wrong, letting me get a shot off on his lancer to hit it for 40, but i could do another 10 because he put bombs in the way, although i did take out lobot .he repaired the lancer with gha, and out in next to the door in the bottom of the map with the long corridor to the back of the map inside. didnt pawn him. i set up on all sides, so he couldn't strafe everything. he failed to take out my sled first round from making a save with a bomb, so first activation he took out my sled. i then took out his lancer, and then it was game over, as i traded bombs for troopers unless i could spare them, and took out his spotter and snipers. in the end, i needed to hit sidious for 10 more damage to win with 3 points, but couldn't do it. 2 point win, nothing mike could do after setting up wrong. 9 pts
so i finished second, and played Mike Moore in the semi, i won map roll and took my map, he chose the rancor pen side, and i hid most of my troopers on the turbolifts with my commanders. he took out about 6 troopers and my sled in the first round, then i took out the lancer. since he hadn't taken out ANY troopers in the round robin, it was easy for me to run over his squad, but he took out a few more this time, but that did nothing, as it just meant i couldn't get as many shots off, so he lived longer. effectively the same game as the round robin. we had a discussion that mike would have needed to play the perfect game to beat my squad, and he didnt, even though he played well. made the final only losing to daala.
The final never happened, as Dr Daman graciously said it was getting late, and he had had enough of minis for the day, so a gentlemans agreement that I win the tournament, and he stays unbeaten. So thank you Dave! you are the man.
So, the reason i ran daala was because i thought she was too powerful, and based on the games i played in this tournament against squads supposed to hold their own against daala, heres Aarons diagnosis.
round 1, if I didnt have the slaver for movement, luke and leia would have strafed a whole lot of my troopers. if that happened though, i would still say the amount of troopers i had would have meant that it wouldn't have made a difference. so, less troopers (rapport) and no crazy movement (zyg) would mean the game would have been a whole lot harder, and not as nearly 1 sided.
Round 2, the crazy movement (zyg) meant i could get within 8 squares of shooting zannah in her starting postion in the first round. plus he could have survived a little longer if i didnt have SO many troopers (rapport). even though with pellaeon it was always going to be a tough matchup.
round 3, daala v daala, so many troopers Rapport) just meant after he shot a couple of unactivated ones of mine, he overwhelmed me pretty much immediately.
round 4, the movement (Zyg) plus the damage (charging) meant i could limit his use of the lancer very early on, plus the sheer number of troopers (rapport) meant i could run all over him, with nothing he could do.
semi, same as before, the movement (zyg) meant i could get pretty much anywhere. and even since he strafed a third of my troopers, i still had plenty of troopers (rapport) to overrun him, just a little slower.
so, Aaron would say, if you gave rival to the slaver with daala, (because i don't think its broken in other squads like naboo or bomb squads) took away her rapport (so instead of having 20 troopers, you have about 16, so its a little easier to deal with) and took away charging fire +10 and just left it at normal charging fire (the +4 +10 from prideful is enough, +4 +20 with a movement breaker is pretty ridick) i would say a WHOLE LOT more squads become viable, as well as letting daala be competitive. bed time, hope you enjoyed that.
