Important errata in effect immediately. We will play the new definition for Heroic Stand at the Chicago Regional (and presumably everywhere else at this point) http://www.bloomilk.com/Forums/default.aspx?g=posts&t=14962

From Facebook via theultrastar:
"Talking to Deri I found out Lily ran a Commando droid swarm squad. Jason ran a Krayt FS squad and was transferring into the force spirits. Deri ran a NR squad with New Han, Wedge, Leia JK, Chewie, and Bryan ran Vong."
" Bryant squad was couple of quednecks, lah warriors and zenoc"

Bryan, I apologize for misspelling your name. I was posting off of my phone and auto correct struck again.

That's really cool transferring into the Force spirits as they can't be damaged by the transfer, but I never thought that would work as transfer essence says to chose a living ally and I guess I just assumed that the force spirits weren't considered to be alive since they are ghosts. Very creative build Jason and good job.

Even if the ghosts were defeated, that would mean a lot of extra FP for Krayt since some of them grant extra FP when they die.

From my understanding they are defeated. Though on the Force Spirit's card it does go into detail on the ways someone can actually destroy a force spirit.
1. is by spending a Force Point 2. is by defeating the character that the FS is haunting.
Transferring into a FS accomplishes none of this, so I would be very interested to see how the spirit can be defeated by transferring into them. Also transferring into Freedon Nadd FS is wicked. Sucking 2 FP's from everyone. Ouch.

From a rules perspective it is the same as transferring into any other living character. They are defeated and Krayt is put in their spot. Just like you could sac a FS to a MTB if you wanted (actually Freedon was toned down a bit because of this exact interaction).

Why are they living? Did the designers want this? This could never happen with the WOTC game since we didn't have ghosts for Sith.
I just have a hard time seeing them as a living character.

Ghosts were ruled as living by WOTC. Just because they weren't in sith doesn't mean they didn't rule on whether they were living or not.
