Thanks for the input everyone. Winning is my last concern, but I also don't want to be frustrated by playing against characters Iv'e never heard of that were created to specifically counter older ones. Thanks for the 'real talk' jak ;)
Side note, how often do people play on Vassal?

Without Vset experience Gizmo is 7 years behind in the game. just being honest but that's doesn't seem to be appreciated, sometimes.:( I was introduced to V sets less than 3 years ago and... I feel the experiences I have had are great! Plus I would hope that I am not 7 years behind the game. I was One Tremendously good play, on my opponents part, away from making the top four in Michigan.

Side note, how often do people play on Vassal? If you EVER want to play on Vassal, just send me a bloomail with a date and time and I will get back with you. I would play minis everyday, either on the table or Vassal, if i wouldn't have to sleep in the garage for doing so.

Also my squad for the Michigan Regional only had 4/14 V-set Characters. While three were my main attackers, I could not have made my squad work as well without the WotC pieces. I have made 3 squads with these Three attackers and this is the best I have done with them.
In My Opinion Gizmo, if you don't at least try to come out and have a good time and set a starting point for your learning of the game, you'll be missing out and would most likely regret it.

Gizmo we had a player who had not really played sense wotc days come to the regional in Michigan and he took 4th. I did help him with ideas for a squad but for the most part he played what he liked. Don't worry about the game getting frustrating because we have the best gaming community I have been apart of.
Also Tim the start time is killing me wish it was much earlier. ;)

My only point is that the tournament used to start at 10 AM. Brutal for people who had to travel three hours plus lose an hour in time zone change.
Regardless - Les is awesome for setting it all up and running it. Obviously the start time has to do with his and/or the venue's availability.
I hope you all have a blast!
I'll be dreaming of minis while I'm stuck in a boring wedding. 😬

We have a guest bedroom with your name on it if you need a place to stay the night before and/or after.

Side note, how often do people play on Vassal? Hope you at least stop by and chat or watch for awhile if you decide not to play.
