gambit should be the player with the higher costing piece in gambit gets the gambit. that is in awesome idea bro, highest piece in gambti gets the gambit. YES! so no more little pawsn in Gambit and that is all. Yes, that is Perfect. awards to melee mostly. That is actually a really neat idea. And may actually increase Melee drive squads. I would be interested in seeing how this worked out

It could easily be abused, and make certain games no fun at all. On a map with Gambit separated (i.e. Destroyed Base) -swap 100pt Sidious into gambit round 1. Nobody else can get gambit, and you don't have to move. Normally the other squad can get someone in gambit too, and since nobody has the advantage you both have to come out and fight. But now, Sidious' team is winning more with each round, and can stay in there (even lock the door) and do nothing until someone comes around to dig him out - being in an overextended position to do so - again advantage Sidious. Not saying its an unbeatable strategy - but the rule could make certain games into legal stalling scenarios that are no fun at all. Best to avoid that

Best to avoid that as opposed to abusing act control or anything else? at least this makes it to where you have to fight. you are running a 100 point piece to do that as well, is it that much of an advantage best squad I have seen with him is 8 acts? if you cant dig out an 8 act squad I feel sorry for you as a player.

It creates an imbalance that makes an unfair advantage that can be abused. You could literally win a game without ever engaging.

Swap and sidious? 132 points.... Good luck with that as in a r7 to lock the door 140. Ya you are not winning that game.
Advantage sidious. Absolutely!!! The big pieces need all the advantages they can get.

But the difference is that you can currently match the gambit, and then all you need to do is kill a scrub and you win. With one team going up 10 every round and there's nothing you can do to prevent it, it imbalances it very quickly.

Typically and historically if you are using a high cost piece it is harder for you to win. Corran Horn has been played, had he ever win anything? Mace Windun is not really played anymore. Look if you are actually wanting a push for melee than this is a great option since the best shooters cost 56 or less (jangalore, cad bane, boba). What is this nothing you can do about it? You can try to kill the piece... Or make it flee.. Or lol more than ten points of Gambit every round. You know actually go to battle

Nothing you can do about the gambit disadvantage.

Nothing you can do about the gambit disadvantage. Ya and I said you can do lots about that. Kill the piece Kill other pieces that you give more Gambit Bring in a different squad The point is that pretty much any type of Gambit Staten island going to be abused in one form or other. If the game is trying to shift to more melee (if it is not than you know forget it) than changing Gambit rules to something like this will help melee by forcing shooters a tad closer to the fray. But playing slow, keeping a junk piece in Gambit and that out activating and killing a scrub for 14 is super lame. In degrees of silliness it is 100% more annoying to match Gambit and lose off a sniper shot and than have a door closed Addition: we could say count up the cost of the pieces in Gambit at the end of the round. Whoever has more invested in hellboy gets the Gambit points

Nothing you can do about the gambit disadvantage. you are swapping a disadvantage for a disadvantage with this change, it just happens that my way gives the advantage to melee beats costing 57+ and we all know melee needs more help.

Unkar Platt solutions to save reserves as a play-style from most preferred to least: -ban Platt (I can wish can't I?) -change wording of Wager, a random D-List alien trader shouldn't be able to cripple Thrawn, Revan, Sideous, Dooku, dejariks and all of the tactician pieces: Wager [Usable once per round, before rolling initiative: Choose 1 Unique ally and a single digit number; that ally is considered activated. Unless you roll a 1, if your opponent's initiative roll ends with the chosen number, subtract 9 from their roll; otherwise subtract 9 from your initiative roll.] - change it to a straight -4 for opponents on an odd or -4 from self on an even initiative roll - replace Wager with: Unfair Trade: while this character is in within 4 squares of the center of the map (or alternatively has line of sight to an enemy character) surpress enemy special abilities that modify initiative. -Increase Unkar Platt's cost to 22-31 so he is not an auto include

It's not for changing design you don't like. Unkar hasn't even come out yet. If he starts to dominate the scene, then maybe the conversation can get started.
