urbanjedi defeated darkdracul
Well, the game technically ended after 5 rounds as there was no action in the first 5 rounds of play. Urban jedi was leading 30-10.
There was still around 25 mins on the clock and we did decide to play on to see what would have happened as it was a fairly interesting game of cat and mouse up to that point.
At the end of time he had defeated montross, while I had defeated thon, t3 and an XT plus gambit so the score at time would have been (urbanjedi 108-darkdracul 67)
We did end up playing this game out to conclusion because it was fun and we wanted to see how it ended up and I finished off the rest of his dudes (Nomi, bastilla and vaklu) while he killed off my R7 and my uggies. I Think it was me over 200 and him at like 80some?
The real issue was that I won map and was hiding out on the south middle of the map in the 1 wide hallway so he couldn't get thon anywhere near my guys and neither of us wanted to just rush into the other guys kill box. All the damage I did against Thon was direct damage with grenades, missiles, whistling birds, and flamethrower, and I think all the damage I did to nomi was also direct damage. I did kill both Vaklu (talon hit plus a mira twin attack) and Bastilla (din djarin twin and mira twin).
On his map it might be a very different game as there isn't any 1 wide hallways I can hide in.

Congrats Jason on the well deserved win! You brought a deadly squad and played it expertly against stiff competition. I look forward to watching the final later.

Congrats Jason! Is this the first time that someone has ever been a back-to-back champion? 2023 and now 2024
And with the same squad both times! Impressive. And what's even more impressive is that this squad has been possible for several years now, ever since V-Set 21 (when Montross was released), so it doesn't rely on new pieces.

Technically they were different events...J won GenCon last year and Vassal Con this year.
And certainly gandalf has several back to back NZ/Vassal wins.
But indeed, well done, and thanks to all the competitors!

Someone did it for 2022 and 2023 as well.

Someone did it for 2022 and 2023 as well. Indeed sir! You and your "Sith Triumvirate" squad are mentioned in my "Goat" SWM competition squads post discussion, in the "General" post section, which I started last year
