Did you mean to say Hi-Fives should have scored 0 pts, because he only scored 122pts in his Rnd 4 loss?

Correct. your map chosen is what you have to use. Otherwise people might change maps to better go against their opponents squad and that wouldn't be fair for gameplay. I treat each round like we would a SWM swiss tournament. You have your map choice you make before you see anyone else's squad and you need to stick with it through the tournament, including playoffs.

What a barn burner of a game.

Urban Jedi defeats Lightsaber 355-340 on ravaged base

I won map

He took the right.

This is kinda blurry as we had to stop mid game because vassal had a glitch and booted us both but we were able to save the game and complete it from there.

I took Parry, and purified the ninth sister.

First couple of rounds were mostly just positioning. Some of his guys got shots on vader who shiened or rolling evaded out of the way. Then I was finally able to intuition reva around the back of the base and sneak in a kill R2. He responded by smoking her. The second sister then came in and tried to do some damage to people but also got blown away.

The key moment came when I was able to move Lord Hethrir at the end of a round and unleash the force (and the saves were awful). Sev was finished off, boss was finished off, all the other clones (except scorch who wasn;t in range took massive damage), and his jedi as well as my vader all took 30 each.

Then I Won the next init and did it again using the ninth sisters Force which finished off his clones, and dropped all his jedi to 60 left.

Mace did 120 with a crit and Depa finished off lord hethrir while GOWK did a Force Push to finish off vader.

Then the ninth sister came in and rolled a crit on mace to knock him to 10 and a proximity mine from the bothan made him the walking dead.

Next round mace died, the ninth sister got smoked, but got a counter push on depa, lumiya tried to take out depa but failed both attacks and took 40 herself.

The next round I won init again and this time got 40 onto depa, then was able to get a mine on gowk and then have the inquisitor limp around and push gowk droping him to 10 with a mine attached.

Final round saw not much happen as lumiya finally died, bb9e died, gowk died and I got a mine onto depa, but with gambit, I Went over at the end of the round.

So He had a walkind dead depa and a full up scorch vs my wounded inquisitor, tarkin and mvp bothan sab.

Great game and if he had rolled at all decently on either of the unleash the force saves (or won the key init) I think it sways in his favor and he pulls out the game.

Odd glitch happened on Vassal just after Hethrir declared his Unleash the Force - it kicked both of us off and wouldn't let either of us rejoin for 5/10 mins. Thankfully Jedi managed to save the game. Is this a common occurance?

gandalf defeats NoffyD 430-257 (3-1) on Ravaged Base

Anthony won map roll and chose his map. I set up on the left. Aurra got Sniper, Asajj got False ID, Quinlan took Maul's +4/+10 and Grievous got Djem So.

Round 1 we both advanced. Merrin turned on Chant of Resurrection. Asajj got into gambit in the Command Centre and Maul/Savage in the Lift. 18-18

Round 2, we both moved some scrubs to start. Then San opened a door and sent Grievous in for a massive Spinning Blade Attack, taking out both Hunters and Talia, and doing 60 damage to Silri. Silri engaged him with her Lightwhip and he was quickly Presumed Dead. (Should have killed San first!) Then Merrin took some shots at San leaving him on 10. Dooku came out into the hallway to provide Relay Orders for a big Furious Assault from Cad Bane, with Sniper letting him kill Silri, 2 Zombies and the XT-6, as well as hitting Sith Asajj and Daka for 60 each. Asajj took out Cad. We both did some positioning and then Aurra finished off Sith Asajj, with Moralo killing her resurrected Zombie. Maul/Savage used Push 4 on Dooku. Sep Asajj came in and hit Maul/Savage for 30. 185-102

Round 3, Anthony won init 19-18. Maul/Savage went crazy on Asajj but she made 3/5 Parries to live on 30HP. Quinlan joined in with Ataru but didn't get anything past LS Defense. Asajj couldn't either, then ran away but missed a parry and reroll and died. Aurra and Moralo hit Maul/Savage for a combined 40 after DR10 (130HP left). The Sith Witch came in to block/distract. Merrin hit Quinlan for 40 and Dooku did the same to the Sith Witch. Grievous returned from his presumed deadness closer to the action. Talzin zapped Dooku and Quinlan and cannoned someone to leave Quinlan on 20. 203-155

Round 4, I won init 9-7. Quinlan's last gasp hit Maul/Savage for 40 more then died to Talzin zapping him and Dooku. Cannon went to Merrin, who dropped Dooku to 30HP. She tried to finish him off on her turn but couldn't hit, so he killed the Witch and hid in gambit. Moralo shot Talzin who bubbled. A Zombie infected a Muun Guard and Grievous killed the new Zombie. Maul/Savage couldn't hit anyone important with a Battle Droid blocking the way. Aurra hit Talzin for 40 after 2 bubbles. 237-217

Round 5, Anthony won init 7-3. Talzin ran out of sight and cannoned Merrin to kill the BD. Grievous killed a Zombie and retreated to give cover to Aurra. Aurra couldn't shoot anyone with Cloaked so she killed the Mouse holding the middle door open and hid. Maul/Savage charged in and rolled a crit for 60 on Grievous, then got parried on the Teamwork attack and Djem So'd to hit back for 30. 258-239

Round 6, I won init 16-13. Grievous whaled on Maul/Savage and managed to take them out, utilizing Dooku's "hit or die" CE to reroll. Merrin got a "free" Teleport from Talzin and Teleported again to track Dooku down, but he made Deflect on a reroll to live with 10HP. Dooku killed Merrin and Aurra killed Talzin.

This was a rollercoaster of a game- Anthony lost 4 important attackers in the first round of action but then somehow clawed his way back to making it a close one anyway.

Looking tight at the top! I'm out unfortunately, but will be interested to see who gets the last spot in our division.

Unfortunately, yes it is...well, it's not unheard of. Thankfully it doesn't happen very often.

Normally when there's a problem it's just 1 player's internet deciding to be stupid, but the other player's internet is still fine, and so nothing is changed, other than needing to pause the timer and give the player some time to reconnect to Vassal. But what happened in your game was that the Vassal servers themselves decided to cut out for a bit, and so both of you were kicked off.

IMPORTANT: When Vassal craps out entirely (as happened in your game), YOU SHOULD SAVE YOUR GAME before restarting Vassal (press File > Save Game ...and then name the saved game file). That way it's easy to catch again up to where you were. If neither of you saves your game then you'll simply be going from memory.

UrbanShmi beats Hi-Fives 375-328 (3-1) on Starport District

Hi-Fives won map and I chose to set up on the right. Honestly, this is going to be brief because the game was long and intense and I don't recall a lot of it. Suffice it to say, it was extremely bloody and came down to a bunch of jumpy lightnings and less than optimal positioning on Hi-Fives' part that won it for me. His dice were also pretty bad, although he had some key crits and the Merciless was MASSIVE. Honestly, I thought we might both go over the build total before the end.

Very nice game, just sorry that neither of us will make the playoffs. Congrats to Noffy, the real winner in all of this!
