We're usually on Wednesday evenings (between 6-9 Pacific time), almost on a weekly basis. During that time, I see alot of RPG'ers, if that's your choice of game. If it weren't for Vassal, I'd be playing every couple of months instead of weekly. A big monitor makes it more enjoyable, since you don't have to scale down as much. I use a 22" 1650x1080, but have played it on my 1080P 47" HDTV . I'm not sure what's going on over at vassalengine.org, they obviously have a new design/site, and I had a hard time finding the Star Wars mod file and maps. I know the newest mode file can be found at The Holocron website. Cheers, Trey

www.the-holocron.net is the new location of the SWMs Vassal Mod file. Nickname has moved it from the Vassal side to holocron.

If someone can provide a LINK with good instructions for those of us who only use the computer for email, word processing, and squad building, that'd be great! I know there have been some problems with the download on the Holocron site for some reason so I have put a download of the 10.0 module on Gamers if anyone is having problems. You can find it here: http://swmgamers.com/page.php?33

Never mind, it screwed up again. Does anyone know where I save it to?

I am not sure about the pictured how to on here but I know the original Pictured tutorial on Gamers is rather easy to follow as when making it I assumed no one knew anything about computers or vassal. Give it a try. Plenty of folks have posted on there it worked. http://www.swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7841

My final question. It's working again so how do I play against someone online, or start a game with them?

Make sure you check the find a game online and connect.
Once on there you should see other players online and in other rooms.
Right click on there names and talk to them. If they have a blue exclamation mark next to their name they are actually looking for a game.

I'd love to if someone wants to take the time to teach a noob how to play with Vassel (I'm very experienced at SWM, so no "training" there, just on the Vassel program) Ditto very awkward to try and install

yeah if you are who I thought you are (denny green anyone?) then I ran to 7-11 to get me a soda. I'm on now though.... although I'm halfway into the setup of a game and the guy posts "gotta go, be back in a little while." Not sure exactly what "a little while" means or why no further explaination.... so if somoene else jumps on now I'd gladly test this new squad out on them instead :)

Most of the guys on Vassal will help you if you ever need it. If I'm on when you are on, Just pm me. You can do that by right clicking on the name you see. One option that will come up is, " send a private message". A little box will come up to type in.

I must say, if you're not on vassal, you should be. The guys there are very cool, all of them very friendly, and despite being a bit of a noob to the game (I have the basics down but due to my limited collection I'm no pro) they've all been very patient and helpful.
but.... is it just me or is Vassal down today? I can't log on and can't even get on their website?
