It's a fun set. I think the NR are the real winners. Sith got some good pieces, but the best piece they got was the Squib. Boa-dur brings someting new to the OR, which does need diversification. Yoda and Qui-gon will be handy in Republic. Vong got something fun. Rebel's stuff will take a little getting used to, but Versatality will be very nice.
For a set called Scum & Villainy, I'm sort of disapointed in the Black Sun stuff. Along with Zann Consortium and to a lesser extent Jabba, the Fringe subthemes are kind of anemic. I would love to see some of the powerful crimelords be powerful enough to have a Fringe only squad. It is doable. Maybe if I get to design again, which isn't an assured thing.

I would like to say congrats to the designers with Battle Ready on the Mando Training Sergeant. Excellent flavor and a really nice way to give the Mandos some movement breaking without copying an old ability. It fits them perfectly.

Just picked him up in a great twist of fate. Fortune shines down on me for once. I must say, I don't know that I would use the V-set version of him any more than the regular version.
As for the other pieces, I will definitely be using Bao Dur, and I am pleased with the Sith additions, with the exception of Lomi Plo. I am a huge Nightsister and Dathomir Witch fan, but Lomi and Mighella just didn't excite me as much as I thought they would. I don't know, just seems plain to me. I do like Tahiri Veila's affinity to be able to switch to the Dark Side, I would be less likely to use her as part of the New Republic anyway. I love Bastila Shan, Fallen Jedi as well as Darth Nihilus, Lord of Hunger (makes me wish I had a Nihilus so I could use him).
On another note, thanks for the memories Mas Amedda and Ugnaught Demolitionist. But on a positive note, now more factions will be a lot easier to play with the benefit of the great addition, Squib Trader.

Love that there are only 6 epic figures in this set. Doesn't grow it too quickly, keeps cost down, and since the missing factions this time had two last time, this gives all factions access to three epic figures (including the one fringe from the last set).

My fav piece in the sethat her than the bx droids with kaz though. Makes kaz a beast.
Rest of the set is meeh and is not as great as Boris made it out to be. Sorry, but no. If you have to have another character to boost her damage then that is not her thats the character with the CE. Almost every mini in the came can get extra damage output from someone else. So she does 60 damage max as i said. A character/mini can be good for the cost range, and still be underwhelming. Which I think she is. No issue at all if you like the character though, and yes she will be good in certain squads, then again so are most others if building a squad around a certain character. So i stand by my earlier posts.

Had not really thought along that line, but now you've pointed it out!

High on the villainy but kind of light on the scum.

Not the point, I have never played a game EVER when I have not had a CE boosting the squad. So in that case EVERY character is in the same situation as Setele. You or others do not point out that X character is getting this or that when looking at individual minis/stats. So again what she get in not relevant in the topic of Setele for the point I was making. as EVERY character gets the same from one CE/SA or another. Talking about the character NOT THE FACTION.

It's not a ce. You can't base a piece just because of those stats. Han sc sucks by himself add I. Leia obi beast. You have to talk about the faction and all the boosts and not just the card.
We play with teams right not card vs card right my point is made.

Fair point. But ignoring the faction synergy does the figure an injustice, especially when you take into account the most common figure in all OR squads now. Her damage output may not be super for the points, but it is fairly in line with other figures. And then you take into account how tough she will be to kill. MOTF 2 + Mettle is a pain. It may not be GOWK level, but Absorb Energy will get a lot of her HP back. Still, #1 thing I'm hoping to see in a game: Karniss Muur using Alchemy 4 to upgrade an opponent's Rakghoul into a Rakghoul Warrior.

Just a little history; this game was designed around taking the entire faction into consideration. There has never been a mechanic to determine the cost of a fig. The original designer (rob) picked the cost somewhat arbitrarily. In large part, he looked at the CE's and other figs the new piece could work with, and that effected the price of the piece. I do get your point, but when evaluating the usefulness of a piece, it really does need to be looked at on a whole.

I think the Sith Pawns might be fun. Medium-siized pocket bombs that can't be disrupted by the OR @ 4pts a piece. Not as fun as Kel-Booms but Tranfer Essence pieces and PotD have the ready made sacrificial lambs.
