My source on the ground tells me there are 10 people in attendance at the West New York Regional. Two rounds complete. I don't have much info on squads or rankings, though.

Did anyone run Daala? 3/4 chance that a new faction is going to be added to the list of Regional winners for the year.

I don't know the full squad lists (and I fell asleep before the finals were over--sorry). In any case, Gerry beat Jason in the finals, so we DO have a new faction winner. Hopefully after a nap Gerry will be able to fill in a few more of the gaps Congrats, Gerry!

I don't know what anybody else played, and I don't have any rankings outside the top four. J and Eric are one their way to another X-Wing tournament, so I probably won't have any other details today.

It has been a wild ride on this weekend! On 2hrs of sleep after two XW events and thhe SWM regional finishing at 4am, I am now officially shot.
I will provide full squad lists from the event but no one elected to take that Imperial harpy. The Naboo finally get the win and this may be the best build I've formulated around them. Fitting they should be my first regional win after a number of top 4's.

Great job Gerry! Not just with winning, but with being an excellent host and organizer. I got beat up pretty bad for the most part, but I still had a lot of fun!

I've become convinced that I'm the only player in the world who really loves Naboo squads even half as much as Gerry does, so I'm really happy they got the win. Lots of people don't like them because it isn't a run-up-and-hit-stuff-with-lightsabers squad, but I think it's one of the most tactically rewarding squads out there because it's really not easy to play at all in most matchups, but incredibly powerful if you can play it correctly. Good job, Gerry!

Echo24 wrote: Lots of people don't like them because it isn't a run-up-and-hit-stuff-with-lightsabers squad, Gee, I wonder why? After all the name on this game is.....STAR WARS. And the movies and TV show and all of the books that take place in that galaxy far far away are about The Force and Lightsabers. Not about some pathetic security force that got rolled by a horrible droid army, and so they had to go beg Jar Jar and his gungan friends to come save them. I don't know about you, but when I go to a tournament, and walk around to see what everyone is playing I expect to see Naboo, beating down Sith. It just makes sense.

Calm down, dude, I was just saying that I like the squad type, and so does Gerry, and I think it's cool that he won with it. If you don't think that's cool then whatever, that's fine, but don't get all offended at the fact that somebody else does.

Calm down, dude. I only highlighted one part of your post. I get that you think it's a great squad. I also understand that there are others who enjoy it. Understand that whenever I post on something it's not because I'm offended. You can have an opinion and not be offended. Right?

I'm convinced that Gerry's cheating on his wife with Mothma.
