I dont know Kota is still very usefull in a rebel squad, mostly for repulse though, put him in a rebel troop cart and boom the repulse will hit almost anything.

Note I said Rep (Republic), not Reb (Rebel) :P I know but he is still way more useful in rebel's, I mean the only thing really Ive seen done with him in the republic is swap, but you can do that in the rebels with mouse droids.
