After much deliberation, I have chosen a winner...
The "Wootin Talz" win! xx carna6e xx's Talz/Ithorian Talzs were just to fun to pass up. (and using "woot" in the name sealed it) ThumpUp
XX Carn, check your PMs if you haven't.

As for the rest, congrats on making it a tough one. There were a bunch of runner ups and I wished I could send prizes to you all. BlooMilk

Now...for the next stage:
Of the members that entered, who would like to enter their squad in a VASSAL tournament? You must enter the exact squad you posted in the contest above.
I will set up a date and time once I get at least 16 members interested.
The prize will be...a Darth Maul, Champion of the Sith! (hey...at least it's a prize!) Wink

Please post after this and let me know if you would be interest in the VASSAL tourney.

Here were some of the squads that I was thinking of when I started this contest:
--MAN150 UC/C only--
51 Basilisk War Droid
26 Mandalorian Quartermaster
23 Mandalorian Captain
19 Mandalorian Scout
8 R7 Astromech Droid
7 Ugnaught Tech
12 Mouse Droid x4
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(149pts. 11 activations)
Note: Set up mousers to allow strafing up to 20 squares with 30dam twin non-melee.

--OR150 Simple Common Troops--
114 Wookiee Elite Warrior x6
32 Juggernaut War Droid x2
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(149pts. 9 activations)
Note: Jugs with mobile, WEWs for the long charge.

--Uggie Bombs-- (my personal favorite!)
15 Ugnaught Boss
11 Ithorian Commander
18 Mouse Droid x6
105 Ugnaught Demolitionist x35

(149pts. 43 activations)
Note: Uggie Demo should have thought of this one! Ugs with +4att 20dam and SD10. The mousers are just to help protect the Ugs while they move across the map. (edited after being reminded the Talz Chief and Ithorian CEs do not stack!)

--Gotal Barrage--
24 Mercenary Commander
16 Talz Chieftain
78 Gotal Mercenary x6
8 R7 Astromech Droid
12 Duros Mercenary x2
9 Mouse Droid x3
3 Ugnaught Demolitionist

(150pts. 15 activations)
Note: Intuition into a nice Furious Assault at +11att 30dam. You could drop the Duros for a Czerka and give the Gotals Jolt for a LOT more fun.

--Hellion to the Talz--
16 Talz Chieftain
13 Czerka Scientist
20 Corellian Pirate x2
90 Dark Hellion Marauder on Swoop Bike x9
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3

(148pts. 16 activations)
Note: Bikes have flight mobile speed 12 at +9att 20dam with twin near Czerka.

First - thanks Huk for throwing this party. It was fun building for this format, and there were a lot of great squads posted. Nice job everyone. BlooMilk

Second - congrats to xx carna6e xx on the win!

Huk, not trying to be a Negative Nellie, just thought I'd point out a couple things with your almost-ran squads:

Uggie Bombs - Talz and Ithorian's CEs don't stack, but they do provide backup for each other. The Ithorian's 11 points could buy you a BG for the Talz, or several other options. That's a lot of bombs for sure Laugh

Gotal Barrage - Love the furious Gotals (one of my fave squads with Imps @200). In case you didn't catch it, the Duros Mercs are not subject to the CE, as they don't have the Mercenary SA.

The Basilisk squad is evil Sneaky (30 exploding Uggies might win that one though Razz )

Here is the Uggie bomb squad I almost went with...

--Bacon Bits--
24 Rodian Black Sun Vigo
42 GenoHaradan Assassin x2
16 Talz Chieftain
15 Ugnaught Boss
13 Czerka Scientist
7 Ugnaught Droid Destroyer
9 Mouse Droid x3
24 Ugnaught Demolitionist x8

(150pts. 18 activations)

Uggs are mostly for harassment while the Genos pop off twins from range, then move in to impale for the kill. The UDD is droid-hate if needed. Rodian Vigo helps protect the Czerka and the advancing bombs, and reserves possibly bring in more bombs.

I'm game for the tournament if the date works for me ThumpUp

Oops...I always forget those CEs don't stack! Oh well...that just means 5 more Ugs.

As for the Mercs...stupid rule! Another "I always forget" that it has to have the Merc SA and not just have Merc in the name.

Thanks for pointing those out S-man. We all need a lil help now and then.

Wow...I need to freshin up on this game. It's been too long since I've played...
(time for some VASSAL)

Blushing I point it out in Huk's squad and totally miss it in the winner RollEyes

Well, they do serve as backups for each other, and he did use 16 Talz Warriors LOL

That will look so cool on the table! ThumpUp

16 guys with double at +10 for 20 (30 unactivated)

I think the squad stands on it own merits as is. BlooMilk

The Ithorian in there makes that a non-issue. The Chieftain can be considered a backup and is a pretty decent attacker on his own. I can see how it makes sense to have both. The squad doesn't totally fall apart if one of them dies.

True, but that wasn't my point. Just using BlooMilk the Talz Chieftain is rangeless, the card has range 6.

Well blow me down...thanks for pointing out the Chief has a 6 sqr limit. As I don't have any DT minis yet, I did not know this.
