The point is that while Lobostele's example may come into play some of the time, it certainly will not come into play ALL the time (as neither would mine), so giving a scenario that outlines where one ability is better than another is a moot point.

That's not true, nor is it the point. What Lobostele is looking at is which ability is going to help you in MORE/MOST situations.

In an extreme example would you rather have Absorb Minerals or Evade. Evade is worthless if you come up against all Melee but is a nice add in all other situations. Absorb Minerals is mildly entertaining if you face an all droid army, but would be completely worthless in any others.

Master Speed and Surprive Move tend to look like the same (as they allow 6 squares of movement) but I think you'll find the restriction with Surprise Move of having to split your movement before any activation will soon outweigh the few scenarions where it's better (not equivalent) than Master Speed.

In other situations where the need (I need to move 6 more squares to double/assualt this figure) is similar you will where you'd rather it be Speed and not Move more often than not.

It's about versatility, which Master Speed has over Surprise Move.

What it boils down to for me is that Surprise move has more innate synergy with Revans abilities (MT, Cunning, Double Attack, and even to a certain point MOTF2). Surprise Move is also FAR more vesatile when used tacfully - due to it not being part of Revans own turn, meaning he gets to spend that extra FP still which can make a huge difference sometimes.

That's pretty much the bottom line why I think it'd be better for him, and nothing has or will change that.

Yep, Surprise Move definitely would have that going for him. Perhaps I have a slightly different opinion on it, simply because I've played a half dozen games or so with him. There are honestly many times where I found myself using Revan's massive movement at the end of a round in order to set up another big hitter. With Master Speed and the CE, you can EASILY get some other piece 18-20 squares from Revan's current position, because you don't have to worry about a Mouse Droid at the end of the run, just make sure it's next to your Swap target. You might be able to do that with Surprise Move, but you have to plan it VERY carefully, AND you have to hope that your opponent doesn't do something in the meantime that goofs you up.

Surprise Move ONLY helps you when are trying to take advantage of ALL of his early round aspect, and it doesn't help you at all if you're trying to do something at the end of the round, like setting up for the following round.

It's probably a personal preference either way. Plus, if you plan to use Surprise Move, and then use more FPs for Move Faster on Revan's actual turn, that does get you an extra 2 squares, but you're also burning through FPs like crazy that way. In my playtesting with him, it was already incredibly tough to have enough FPs to make it through the whole game, so that may also be part of why I prefer Master Speed, as it helps you spend a few less FPs throughout the game, most likely.

He's definitely awesome to play with Kun though, in that regard, to have access to another FP or two at a critical moment.

I agree with Lobo: using Master Speed at the end of a round is a great way to set up a devastating strike to start the next round. I can only think of a couple of situations where Suprise Move would be more valuable, and a whole lot of situations where Master Speed is the better option.

I only played 3 games with Revan, but I learned more in each successive game. This Revan is certainly powerful, but there's no question that it will take practice and strategy to use him well. That, IMHO, is a big part of what makes a good piece great. Nice job, design team! :)

After a few more games under my belt my love for this piece just keeps growing. I will say that you got to keep him safe or beside a bunch of body guards or he runs out of FP's quick. I was able to get cad bane across the map to kill han smuggler in round 2 of a game today, so that was neat.

As Boris said on Gamers MTB will prob come back being a T1 build. I also think we may see the return of Han Rogue in some builds. Amazing that one piece brings his faction from "sweet, he is running sith, i got this game" to "oh, crap he is running sith, I'm boned"

Yeah, I think "never tell me the odds" will continue to become more valuable...

I'm not so sure about NTMTO. Rogue has to compete with Smuggler, a really, really tough call for many Rebel squads. Galactic Hero is likely the best bet, but I am not overly thrilled with using him over some of the other NR options. And General Solo, well, not likely to be used because of this.

MT is really nice but movement is what wins games. Look a the last gencon winners they all had some movement breaking ability. I think Master speed, LA, With bandon early with a keldor swap would be nice all by itself.
