But you always see Yobuck squads, so how can they be that much different, they will have the same attack now and basilisk will have 20 more damage, the only reason it wouldn't be played much in my opinion is that it is kind of rare to come by. By the way if anyone has one , I'm interested

The CE is a bit stronger than that, sure. But it is only limited to Basilisks. Not going to have more than 1, 2 is the max in a 200 pt squad. Still, do basilisk a really need the boost? When's the last time you played a Basilisk? I haven't because I don't have one, but I would if I could.

By the way if anyone has one , I'm interested They're $10.99 each here: http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/144544I think it's the base size that's the biggest problem for the Basilisks. It's hard to keep them safe from shooters, hard to find a place to land them at the end of the strafe, and as Sithborg points out below it's easy to hide pieces in places that the huge-based strafer can't get to. Obviously the +14 attack and +40 damage on a strafer is extremely nasty, but it's going to be hard to pull off. Yobuck gets +18 attack with Galloping, and up to +22 for 30 damage on his momentum hits with General Skywalker (which is still a cheaper and more usable combination than the Basilisks imo).

Is it?
Yobuck does not have flight which I think makes the differance. Finding a place to settle the Basilisk is not so hard as you claim, it may limit how many you can attack in its turn but as long as you are doing more damage than the Basilisks is worth, which given its damage output is not that hard at all.
I do like the character though, but do think its a little cheap for what it can do, Thats even with the fact most will not use it with another Basilisk, to benifit from its CE.

Strafe Attack: Some characters with Flight also have Strafe Attack. This character can move up to double speed and attack each enemy whose space it enters instead of using the targeting rules. Roll each attack just before this character enters that enemy’s space. This character cannot normally attack any enemy twice in the same turn using Strafe Attack, and it cannot move directly back into a space it has just left. A character with Strafe Attack can still make a normal attack on the turn it moves, as long as it moves its speed or less. Prior to using Strafe Attack, this character must designate a legal space to end its move in. Other characters cannot enter this space while this character is using Strafe Attack. This ability is usable only on this character’s turn.
See all those nooks and crannies on your map. There is your safety. Engineer played the Basilisks once, against me on the Throne Room map. Seems like a good map to play a Huge strafer, right? I used the nooks and crannies to provide protection. It was enough to obiliterate him. He refused to play a huge Strafer from then on. Being a Huge strafer seems to be a big advantage. But I assure you, it's size is just as big of a draw back. There are far too many corridors and rooms that are 2 or 3 squares wide, that only leave one path for them.
And yes, the figure is powerful. But if you are dependant on a 49 piece that only gets +10 Atk, is not necessarily the way to go, especially with big beatsticks around.

Well, boosting him is possible, and since there is strafe, there is no cover, and he gets +4 from indomitable on basilisk. As long as you have some good backup or door control, you can hide him well enough, depending on the map. But it's kind of the same with Yobuck. You have to hide him, and even with Master speed, it's not always easy to pull off. But it's possible, especially with the new Mando tech. And since it has droid the name I believe (could be wrong) HK-47 could help him out with some Mando stealth and Cassus Fett

CE: Allies named Basilisk War Droid gain +4 Atk and +10 Dam against adjacent enemies. So, no Momentum. And neither this piece, nor the normal Basilisk are Droids. You must have the SA to be a Droid. So, yes, the Basilisk can be boosted by normal Mando CE's, but the ones that affect him are more limited. And door control means squat if you can't leave a room if you use Strafe. And down a long hallway that you can't make the square turn around.

Question with the basilisk. I know you can't enter a previously entered square with strafe, so does that include any of the 9 square it enters, considering its huge base?

Thanks I wasn't sure and didn't want to be using the piece incorrectly. Another clarification I would like to ask is if 3 characters are adjacent in the same row across the can the you strafe all three without first moving past them or does there have to be movement between each attack? Thanks.

Thanks. A large or larger character with strafe attack can strafe multiple characters simultaneously. You would resolve all attacks before continuing movement.

So that list that Swinefeld linked to yesterday ( ) - I'm assuming there are a Separatist Cad Bane and Aurra Sing, right? That's pretty exciting - looks like a big batch of living Seps.

There are supposed to be full spoilers from FrostyCon too, right? Hinkbert said on Gamers that there were four, but that he was on a tablet and couldn't post them.
