The key point is although Akro is back on, we do need to ensure that we have firm commitments and this means a good turnout from your local crew besides Dennis & Juicy. You know I'll be there in show of support but I'd hate to see a repeat of last year's regional scant showing. That was terribly unfair to you as the TO jak. So to all ya'll out there... Its time to show some love and get on the OH bandwagon, as the venue is solid and so is the TO.

I won't be able to commit 100% until it gets a little closer but there is still a good chance I can make it work.
It looks like I will have a 7ish hour drive so I would have to drive out Friday.

Since I work nights and already have to take off both Friday night and Saturday night - I'd rather go up early on Friday to get some real gaming in that night (As opposed to leaving after the 9-5 work day on Friday and getting in very late (or very early Saturday morning!) But . . . if Jake can't go, I could be swayed into leaving later. Of course I would encourage anyone going to just go ahead and take that Friday off, so we can make it there at a reasonable hour. After all, I am already taking off half my work week to go. ;) (This is all assuming I actually get the time off!)

Sorry for being away for so long. We moved and are getting ready for a new baby, due any day. As for the new date, I'm in unless there are complications with the birth of my new son, Luke. I'll update when I can, but for now consider me in for the regional event.

It wouldn't hurt to update as to the prize support, trophies etc..., since we are roughly 2 1/2 weeks out from the OH event. My current plans are to travel that Saturday AM to be at jak's by 9AM, then crashland back (if welcome ) for Saturday night. For the IL & WI crew, it would be great if you can make it as your collective presence will solidify the core needed to conduct the Regional. What about you folks in MI and the rest of the WNY crew? Calling all cars, Calling all cars.

Couple of things... First, we still need the event cost, prize support & trophies factored into the post and a 1PM start for a Regional is too late IMO. I know the folks at Underhills are accomodating but say we get 9-12 players (being optimistic) that is (4) rounds of Swiss w/the semis and final, how late could we stay is the question.
So a total gametime of 6 hrs, we'll need time for squad registration and whatnot, therefore IMO we should be there at 11AM and try to launch the Regional no later than Noon.

Agreed. This is Jak's baby, while I am very happy to help where I can, I'll leave event cost, prize support, and trophies to him. As for the 1pm start time, Underhill's opens at noon, so I think Jak figured that reg would be from noon - 1pm. He can or I would be happy to give Lee (owner of Underhill's) a call and see if they would open a little earlier. I will say that typically, they will stay open late if some good gaming is going on, again we'd have to verify with Lee. I do know that they will close the doors to the pubilc after 9:00pm but stay open for those still gaming.

Excellent points all Den (forgive my ignorance on store hours), our Honorable TO needs to weigh in as it indeed is his gig and thunder. Going back behind my green curtain until summoned...

I was holding off before committing to either Ohio or Delaware those 2 weeks. (20th and 27th) Unfortunately, I can't make either. I have family commitments on the 27th, and while I have most of the day free on the 20th, I do have plans in the evening that will keep me home. I love being married, (30 years this past May) but it does cost me regionals every year lol.
