Sorry, been playing today ....

My ratings ....

corran's - Revan, Savior of the Galaxy Score 7

To me, average is a 7, which for me imply's good/bad points. Good Commander, ally friendly, but he seems more of a stick with little Force choices other than Lightning for a cost of 64.

Darth B's Leebowitz Genstine Score 6

Good news is he's cheap and can hit hard. Bad news he's not very mult-dimensional. He boosts Canderous a bit, but he's limited in what he can do, he can't use the Force often enough to be dangerous and he's defensively weak; too many things these days, especially ranged can kill a D of 18 easily ... plus the name .... Did I miss the Leebowitz bit because I didn't play the game??

Andy's - Revan, Galactic Hero Score 8

Interesting mix of SA's, especially Adept Repair. Acrobatic (or an equivilant effect) a must with Greater Mobile. Still a lil short on ranged Force power. I'd have made his cost 71 ..... 56 is darn aggressive.

Signer's Revan, Crusader Score 8.5

Most balanced piece I've seen with a lil Offense, Defense, and Force choices, but I'd have gone with Lightening rather than Grip. Also a lil cheap. Maybe 70-72

Pasterbud's Revan, Reborn Score 7

Like the Attuned armor choice; it fits him. But as others have said, he's more an Epic than a regular, playable piece (if you're going whole hog, you may as well have given him Lightening. Also, with Mastery & Reflect, saber Defense is redundant. Also, at the end of his career you may as well have given him MOTF. ... just sayin ... carry on.

Die/Metal's Revan OR Hero Score 7.7

Like the CE, a very balanced stick (not sure about stasis; understand your explanation, but wording iffy.) Like the Mettle addition. Still, mostly a stick. Not as badly undercosted as some.

saber1's Revan, Prodigal Knight Score 7.5

Opposite of most people's. Strong in the Force, weaker in SA's; capable of getting CE help. Still a little undercosted by about 12-14.

Not rating myself, but I'll admit MOTF 3 might've been a lil too much; maybe 2? Price could've been 77, although anything under 80 would be acceptable .... Not my best work, but not bad for an hours work.

If I read my own scores, signer wins by a hair over Andy 8.5 to 8 .......

Cheers

Nope! Lol, I just alway have extremely obscure name for my characters in RPG games. The more outlandish the better!

First off, congrats to all participants. There was some great stat building in this competition.

Secondly, this was a tough call. As a player, I would like to have seen more synergy designed into the pieces. KotOR was built around Revan's interactions with his support characters and aside from a few nods to their existence I didn't see anything designed to make Revan better by including those characters in his squad. Obviously, that was not a stated goal of the contest but merely one player's perspective.

Third, I had to choose based on accuracy, balance and creativity.
-AndyHatton used a couple of things to give the OR some initiative manipulation without using the auto-win Master Tactician. His CE also will be a big help to any ally with Reserves. He also used a decent, and underutilized offensive Force power (a must for Revan).
-Corranhorn's use of Unleashed was appropriate and his choice of offensive Force power struck a pleasant balance between FP usage and damage output. Like AndyHatton, he designed a strong but balanced CE, though perhaps more useful due to the Sith faction portion. To be forthright, I was tempted to dock this piece due to dual affinity, but relented when I decided that an OR Revan themed contest did not explicitly preclude use of additional factions.
-Darthbane53 really attempted to capture some of the KotOR game mechanics, something I greatly appreciate. Power Attack comes to mind and is very similar to Rend+20, though there are advantageous differences. The Canderous interaction is another great nod to the video game. The obscure name of this piece threw me off and he needs some tidying up.
-SignerJ also used dual affinity which affected his CE. The unlimited aspect of the OR half of the CE concerns me, as does Master Tactician. I have grave concerns giving the OR access to MT when Bastila and her Advanced Battle Manipulation will surely be on the map.
-pastorbudwine@mac.co, you flat out went crazy in the Hit Point department. That, or you should have gone full bore into Epic territory. I like the fact that this piece is an offensive force not to be trifled with. LSReflect was nice to see included, though I question the use of LSThrow 2. Do not misunderstand, it is a great and accurate power (I used in on my entry). My question is why use level 2 when he already has Double/Twin/GMA? I think this would be a great opportunity to bust out the big guns of level 4 or 5.
-DieAndBeMetal, I appreciate to Twin LSAssault combo as it just seems to fit the character. I won't repeat my issue with Master Tactician so I'll just move along. Kudos for using LSDuelist, an original selection in this contest. What this piece is lacking is a damage dealing Force power.
-surf_rider 56 you made some bold choices. The inclusion of Intuition, Master Speed and Master Tactician (a common theme, it would seem, that I covered above) was one of those bold choices and I fear it is too much. The cost of 70 points may save it, though. Parry, LSDuelist, MotF3 and 22 Defense was another bold choice that went too far. In both cases, I would recommend dropping one ability to bring balance to the piece.
-Deathwielded big kudos for your choice of timeframe. The choice of a weaker-but-improving Revan is original. Another helping of kudos for your choice of synergy. Quick Learner, while an intriguing concept, didn't quite hit the mark and needs a significant rewrite. As for Levitation, while it isn't inaccurate, it just feels like a size 10 shoe on a size 11 foot, not quite a fit.

In the end, there can be only one, or so a MacLeod once told me. It ended up much closer than I initially thought. Both
corranhorn and AndyHatton put together pieces that were accurate, balanced and creative. Both are greater mobiling, double attacking Jedi hunters with great CEs and decent defense. Ack! I can't decide. Ok, I must, so here it goes...by the slimmest of margins...my vote goes to...Revan, Galactic Hero by AndyHatton.

Quote from Deathwielded:

So here is what we will do: Everyone should rate ALL of the characters in the contest AND pick their favorite character by posting on this thread (example: I thinks so-and-so is the best ,ect). Each vote (via post) counts as 1 point and the highest Rated character gets a bonus of 2 points. So we have the rest of the day to pick your fav version by voting for them and rate the characters in the contest. Then tomorrow the winner will be announced and the winner can choose the next Subject for the CCC.

Deathwielded, thanks for setting this up. Your instructions (quoted above) were in the middle of a paragraph in the middle of page 2, with nothing to draw attention to it, so I can understand why people may have missed it. Also, a one day deadline is probably too short to expect a good turnout. Quite a few people don't check in every day.

I didn't enter and I don't think I know Revan well enough to really vote, so this doesn't really affect me. Just wanted to explain what apparently happened and hopefully prevent some frustration.

Sorry guys I was pretty frustrated earlier and today my internet needed work. Your right I should have made it more obvious. we were supposed to have a 2 day voting period (Friday and Saturday) but that didn't quite work out as planned.

"First of all, I'd like to say sorry to Deathwielded. I actually DID see your post, but I didn't have the time to vote for all of the characters and post until today. Also, I don't think one day of voting is enough -- how about voting starts on Friday and goes until Sunday, noontime? It really shouldn't take too long to tally up the votes and declare the winner."
Sounds like a good idea. For the next time I will list the rules/plan at the top so everyone will be able to see it and reference it.

I think I have a new twist that showcases a Luke that no figure yet represents.

Luke Skywalker, INFANT.

And discuss Wink Wink

Just messaged Deathwielded with my real pick and it is only Luke Skywalker adjacent.

Going over this again...yeah, there definitely has to be a rule where, if you enter, you have to vote. 4 people voted, total, out of 9 people who submitted.
