Mando vs DarkDracul. Mando wins 118-24. 2pt win for Mando, 0pt for Dracul. My squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223278/nu-strategy---let-the-whipid-win-DarkDracul's squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223244/talz-miniverseI won map roll and picked my map Ravaged base. Bryan picked right side and i set up on left. Bryan's squad way outactivated my team. I had to be very careful with my moves and placement, making sure my key pieces were adjacent to my spotter. I moved my team up into gambit and Bryan had a few shots with one of his Rodian Assassins against my Ng'gok and he failed a save vs the shield and died. Bryan tried to get my Spotter out of the game a number of times and brought my spotter down to 10 hp, but 2 more failed saves made 2 more rodians die. 1 Rodian assassin left and i took him out with my whipid on a key play where i could have used my Ghhk to take out his Czerka, but opted to take out his last best shooter. it paid off and i also took out his R7 door control with my uggie droid destroyer and locked most of his team into a room which helped a lot. very tough matchup! Bryan's squad was very good and i had to play mine just about perfectly to get a shot at winning. it was fun playing Dejarik with my Whipid. As C-3P0 probably once said "I suggests a new strategy...let the Whipid win." =)

Week 5: Darth O (3pts, 150 score, Old Republic) defeats UrbanShmi (0pts, 36 score, Mandalorians) on Cantina. My squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223250/knights-of-the-non-unique-republicUrbanShmi's squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223258/mando-squad-for-trevors-tourneyLaura picked Cantina, and I set up on the left. From round 2 I basically just beat down on the Mandos with Mirialans and senator shots. Laura had a cool move with the Outrider to push my bodyguard away from my Mirialans, but wasn't able to get enough damage to stick through bad attack rolls and good Makashi saves. I had 2 Mirialans left with 40HP and another with 20HP.

Week 6 Pairings are posted. I've posted this week's pairings early because everybody was finished early. Now we've all got an extra day to schedule our games for this week.
After much time spent re-sorting all of the pairings and scoring, I think I've now got everything properly organized and laid out for the rest of the league's duration. "Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?"
At this point, the league will go for two more weeks after this one (for a total of 8 weeks).
Because of how things worked out, Mando has 1 more game to catch up on than the rest of us do, since he had a Bye in the first week and then played vs Adam in the 2nd week. I've scheduled it so that his final game is vs me...we can play that in Week 9 (we would be the only game that week) or the two of us can find a time before then that works for both of us.

Match: Week 6 Darkdracul (3, 150, Republic) defeats UrbanShmi (1, 89, New Republic) on Starport Terminal. UrbanShmi: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221896/squad-8-for-trevors-tourneyDarkdracul: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223182/clone-miniverseI won map. (Starport Terminal). Round 1: We advance, I snipe the medic but no one ends up in Gambit. Round 2 : Witches move into gambit. I defeat the Cobalt Squadron Pilots. Round 3 : Clones move into the gambit room and start shooting Witches. Witches defeat a Sparti, some Clones, and a Clone Trooper Lt. By the end of the round, Laura and is down to 1 Clan Mother. Round 4: Laura wins init, heals the cloaked Dathomiri witch, and finds a spot in gambit I cannot reach. Round 5: Laura gets Init and defeats a Legion to score her 1 point. A Trooper defeats the Clan Mother for game. Final (Darkdracul 150 - UrbanShmi 89) Once again Vasaal Premium really paid off this week as I rarely rolled an attack less than a 17. Not too many crits, but hands down my highest rolling game of all time. That really didn’t help in this bad matchup for the witches as my squad was built to counter Uvaks. I enjoyed getting to roll dice with you Laura, best of luck in your final matches.

TimmerB123 over Mando 100-91 (2-1) TimmerB123's squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/222008/nu-frickin-felucians---Mando's Squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221534/mandos-mandosPlayed on my map - Rhen Var Engagement to the extreme! Never ending engagement. Stupid mechanics (save insanity) and bad attack rolling (both sides) but decent enough save rolls by me (I estimate I missed more than the expected 25%, but it was still enough) - made this game not finish in 75 minutes. I inched ahead at the end. God I hate Fellucians. Only played them for Uvak counter. Of course I faced shooters. Oh well, still got the W

tint and I got our game in just in time. My squad (I literally just used Bryan's squad): http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223181/antarian-ranger-miniverse (Map: Starport Terminal) Trevor's squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221548/nu--galactic-alliance (Map: Cantina) Map: Cantina Antarians win it 176-108 (3-1) Covenant Consular with Force Sense and the last Jedi keeping the Synergy going was the MVP. He even hit both of his attacks, which was important.

TimmerB123 playing Republic (technically) beats UrbanShmi playing Rebels - 153-70 (3-0) My squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223327/-nu--g-i-r-f-i-t-------gambit-is-really-fun-isnt-it------(NU) G.I.R.F.I.T. !?! (Gambit is really fun isn't it!?!)-- 16 Talz Chieftain 14 Dianoga 13 Amanin Scout 13 Jawa Scavenger 12 Rodian Assassin 10 Dark Hellion Marauder on Swoop Bike 24 R7 Astromech Droid x3 21 Ewok Hang Glider x3 10 Caamasi Noble x2 5 Rodian Diplomat 12 Mouse Droid x4 Laura's Squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223419/specforces--SpecForces-- 40 SpecForce Marine x2 17 SpecForce Vanguard 30 SpecForce Infiltrator x2 30 SpecForce Technician x2 15 SpecForce Urban Combat Specialist 15 SpecForce Wilderness Fighter 3 Ugnaught Demolitionist (150pts. 10 activations) Laura had a really cool squad with a lot of tricks. Some pretty good firepower, jolt, missiles, mines, proximity mines, charging fire, walking through doors, etc. I had a pile of jank constructed purely for the purpose of gambit abuse. I didn't win the game - gambit did. There's no way my squad could have taken out her's. I denied her gambit with diplomats, cloaked forward positioning, and R7s, while I racked up mine. We played on my map - Rhen Var, I started in gambit with my dianoga, and from the right moved my "forces" forward. She funneled everyone down the hall from the left in a typical approach. I raced my swoop into a position to take out her uggie, and did so the start of the next round. In doing so it left the door open for her two marines to come charging through, taking out one of my three R7s. I then locked the door (her urban combat specialist was a couple squares to far to blow the door), thus holding the rest of her force back for a round. I attacked with entire my pitiful force. I hit a CRIT with my rodian on her Marine (but alas, I think for the first time I've ever seen, ARMORED SPACESUIT did something, sparing him 10 more damage. Many more misses and 1 hit brought a total of 40 damage on one marine, bringing him down to 10hp, the other still full health. I moved my diplomats into the gambit room blocking the door (with the cloaked dianoga behind), and then locked the lower right door. It was impossible for her to get a shot on my diplomats without having LoS of the cloaked dianoga, so she couldn't attack either. She started the next round by taking out my swoop, but after that wasn't able to do much this round, I think killed a mouse or two. After she activated, I opened the lower door and took a few shots, taking out the injured marine. I lined up a hang glider for a nifty little mini strafe for the next round. Next round I did a 6 square strafe hitting one of her 2 Infiltrators, and then doing the regular attack to kill it. The surviving Infiltrator took out that hang glider and another one easily. She moved her Vanguard right next to my 2 diplomats that were blocking the door, and I essentially used my whole force to take out the vanguard. Next round she rushes my rodian off on the bottom right with her Marine and takes him out. Next round I take out the marine with my Jawa. I try and get clever and roll my amanin scout to base 3 of her figs. She wins init and takes him out. I have virtually nothing left that can do much damage. I finish off her Urban Combat Specialist with a critical from a CE juiced caamasii, and take out a technician with my cunning +20 Jawa. That and 8 rounds of gambit sealed the deal. I had a jawa scavenger, Dianoga, Talz Chieftain and 2 caamasi nobles left that could do any damage. She would have wiped the floor with me had the game not finished due to gambit. Laura's squad was cool and she played it well, and was a good sport about the whole thing. My squad wasn't very fun to play with (nor probably against). A very wise member of the Balance Committee that I had a great conversation with the other day told me that nothing in this community changes until you show how much it sucks. So that's what I did. Gambit abuse to the extreme. Multiple ways of keeping my opponent out of gambit the entire game. I didn't actually lock the door adjacent to gambit the entire game, the dianoga and camassi were enough (diplomats are really dumb btw). We were legitimately engaged the whole time, and I didn't simply sit in gambit (I could have, I just didn't want to bore my own self to death). So this wasn't even a question of door control, as her Urban Combat Specialist was one of the last pieces I killed. But realistically my squad was not up to snuff to actually defeat her squad in the allotted time, and so it successfully abused gambit to win. Gambit is really fun, isn't it!?!

Mando defeats FlyingArrow 145-100. 2pt win for Mando, 1pt loss for TJ. I won map roll and went with my map, Ravaged Base. My squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223460/nu-treadsTJ's squad was: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221926/150-nu-ewoksTJ seriously way out activated me but i did have movement breakers in my favor with my treadspeeders getting the shock troopers and jet trooper into the action and gambit quickly. I scored 4 rounds of gambit compared to TJ's 1 round of gambit which did make a difference but in the end i was able to take out a lot of pesky ewoks with my troopers/treadspeeders and the occasional lightning attack from a nightsister. i sealed the deal late in the last round with my Nightsister and Dignitary landing the 40 dmg needed to kill his chieftan. I got a very lucky crit with a treadspeeder on a Brigth tree village ewok on a AOO which was huge. TJ rolled very well on his missles saves (i think he only failed 1 save the whole game) and it was very fortunate early on when i got a line of sight on a group of 3 ewoks and his R7 in the starting area and he made all the saves. the sentinel messanger was useful for the tactician and the CE. Isacrificed my Jet trooper by self destructing near 3 ewoks taking all of them out, once of which was a glider and another was a warrior. The gliders were very deadly....strafe with momentum and talz CE....ouch. Good game! had fun using the treadspeeders even tho i wasn't able to fully utilize their barrel through ability as much as i wanted. cool mechanic tho!

thereisnotry (3, 150, OR) defeats urbanjedi (1, 110, Rebel) thereisnotry: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221547/nu--antarian-rangersurbanjedi: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/223500/non-u-rebelsJason won the map roll but he chose mine (Cantina). I set up on the left. Round 1 we both advanced to gambit. Round 2, I won init and put 20dmg onto a Wookiee. Later I used Force Sense with my Consular and then got a lucky crit with a Ranger to kill Jason's ERC. He advanced his guys into the Gambit area (including his Bothan, who set malicious traps for several of my guys). I responded by charging my Mirialan Jedi Knight to kill the Bothan. I took 30dmg for my boldness, but it was worth it. Jason sent a Gold Ace around the bottom of the map, who then came up and shot one of my Rangers for 30dmg. More shots and misses and evades, all around. I won the next init and used my Mirialan one last time, to drop a Gold Ace before she died to a Wookiee's charge. After that it just got kinda hairy (pun intended!) as our forces traded shots. Jason tried to claw (pun intended again!) his way back onto the top of the damage race, but I was dealing it out as quickly as he was, so he wasn't able to catch up. Near the end, I only had 1 Jedi left, and half of my Rangers were outside of the Synergy range thanks to Jason's effective flanking maneuvers with a Wookiee and a Gold Ace...also, my Rangers were split up so that none of them could gain the Squad Firepower bonus. Nevertheless, I just had more attackers than he did at this point, so even though he dropped 2 or 3 more of my guys, I was still able to kill off his last guy before the end. Lots of fun, as always, Jason! Thx for the game.

Week 7: Darth O (3pts, New Republic) beats DarkDracul (0pts, Vong) 150-21 on Rhen Var. I was on the right. My squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/221943/res-chiss-tanceBryan's squad: http://www.bloomilk.com/Squad/222015/vong-miniverseThis was a rough matchup for Bryan's squad, as my Chiss Troopers were shooting at +15 for 50s with double, so they could take out two Domain Lah Warriors in one turn if they didn't move, or have two shots at one warrior after moving 6. I killed the one uggie in round 3, so I was able to lock doors one at a time to force Bryan to move his guys around the map to find a way to my squad while I positioned everyone. When Bryan sent everyone to the bottom of the map, I unlocked the bottom door and opened fire. Bryan managed to take down one trooper, but the warriors weren't able to get close enough to the other troopers before getting shot. On another map, it could have been a very different game, as the warriors could rip through my 30hp dudes with rolling cleave. It goes to show that door control still wins games on maps like Rhen Var.

I think the best thing is to keep with the current configuration (up to V-Set 20) until the end of the Round Robin. Then for the playoff rounds we'll let the Top 4 players vote (and the 5th place player will cast a tie-breaker, if needed).

Week 8 Pairings are posted. Only DarkDrakul and I don't have a match this week.
However, for the next week, the only match to be played is between Mando and me. Therefore, I'll be contacting Mando this week to see if we might have the flexibility to play that one this week as well, which will allow the playoffs to get started sooner.
Have fun!
