AZ: Thank you for the clarification. And that was the side was bugging me too. I had them longer but trimmed them down and left a "mini marshmallow" look to them. So, I had to go back. I have to update the picture for the new horns. They turned out better. As to the material, a combination of Gray Stuff (most horns) and... Praetoriate Vong Warrior spikes.

Went back and redid some of the horns on Savage Oppress and tweaked a few things on Tera Sinube. Couldn't quite gray him down enough for my taste but they are both on Page 3.

Hahaha! Nice work on the darth silky!
Im liking the minis,
Some of my advice for areas of improvement would be on blending the green stuff putty into the mini: but I struggle with doing this too (so any advice I could offer would be the blind leading the blind)... Times like this I wish I could say "Greats Assemble!" And have Adliv999, Billiv, Azrikel, Ironlightsaber and all the other team from WotC boards come on down and show us how its all done.

I think your paintwork is exceptional, as are most of your cuts and joins/repositions. The lightsabers also look great, and straight.
Maybe you could try your hand at some of Surfs custom cards? Im thinking the mechanic/fringe stuff... thats if youre looking for new challenges/ways to practice your hobby.

Have you considered trying to make vehicles? That could be fun, and offer a new challenge as well. There are heaps of blueprints for rapid prototyping on the custom FAQ thread... BigGrin

great work, and keep it up.

I appreciate the compliments. I am still honing my craft. Trying my hand at non-humanoid creatures. Working on a Voxyn now. Green stuff is my bane. I use too much and have to find ways of using it. The Voxyn tail is going to the harden or just have to be redone.

Vehicles are tough. They are far too geometric and needing exactitude for things work. I am very fly by night and use instinct in my making characters.

But I strive to improve with each mini.

Really great looking customs. Thanks for the pics and keep making them. Always look forward to seeing the good work and keeping SWM's alive.

Thank you, Draugtur. I am trying to improve every mini.

W_M: SpecForce was simple. Galactic Alliance Trooper and Coruscant Guard head with some trimming. Easiest mini though:Checkmate Pawn from HeroClix

Amazing what/how mant Heroclix mini's are usable, isn't it? Almost makes up for the lack of new SWM .... almost BlooMilk

Yeah, the new HeroClix are so much better than the original line. Much better details. Although, one (or 3 if count that I bought that many) was a bit of a SCUD. She has bubble gum in her mouth. I removed it and she looked like a blow up doll for midnight liasons or Resusi-Annie for the Red Cross. But, some are very good. I just did a new Han Solo for DOTF. Granted, he is still carrying a 9mm Beretta, he still looks cool.

I remember that mini; took the bubblegum off and she ... just didn't look right ..... it had potential up to that point BigGrin

Maybe as a Black Sun bimbo ....

I really, really like that Carth. Love the pose. I don't have the original Carth and have been trying to find a good substitute to use for the V-set version, how did you make him?

Well, many Bothans died in the creation of that miniature. Replace Bothans with Minis:
Lower Half-Han Solo, Smuggler
Top Half- HeroClix mini: Paladin
Head: HeroClix Mini: SHIELD Agent (Male)
Right Gun: HeroClix Mini: Human Target: (It's a 9mm)
That being said, you could just get the Human Target Mini and paint from there (Minus the 9mm) with no head swap required or Paladin if you like the Armored variety (Head swap will be needed as he is wearing a flight helmet). I just used the Human Target for my Han Solo so I didn't want him to look the same.

More like I subconsciously used yours as inspiration because I knew someone did one but couldn't remember who. Did that with Darth Malus' Luke in STA and felt like I plagiarized a mini.

I would love that but the 4 hour drive is daunting. Happen to know any good midpoints not in the Everglades? :)
